Hi, Nicki! Your garden is beautiful. Also, you live in such a lovely area. Thank you for sharing. Otherwise, some of us would never see the beautiful sea or your side of the world 🌷👍🤗
I live on a west coast island in Canada and we have that damp humidity issue too. I run a dehumidifer regularly and that really helps with the mold. Also, use a lysol wipe on leathers, etc that start growing mold and it will kill the mold spores. We have to wipe the walls in the backs of our closets and have painted them with Killz, an anti-mold paint.
We live here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) it gets very humid here as well, we have a Dehumidifier to remove the water out of the air and solved the issue of moldy leather along with keeping closet doors slightly ajar for air circulation.
I love your videos! I’m the Chilean who saw you on your kayak with Holly. It’s wonderful to see what daily life is like in Positano, and it’s what I loved most about my recent three weeks in Italy, we visited many small towns in Tuscany and Umbria apart from the Amalfi coast, and to be able to see how people go about their daily routines is fascinating. Keep up the wonderful videos, which are so varied and entertaining. Christine from Chile,
Watching some of your older videos now I'm all caught up on recent ones. Interesting what you said about the Positano winters being damp and humid. It's the same here in NZ and I too found English winters a drier cold. I lived there fir 3 years. Also the heating is so much better in the UK. In NZ I need an electric blanket or the bed feels damp. In the UK I never felt I needed one.
Hey Nicki, Here's a suggestion for preserving your leather goods from humidity. Put them in one of those bags vacuum bags that you have to suck all of the air out of here. I don't know if they sell them in Italy but surely they do in Britain. Try that and see if that works. It's worth a try as leather is so expensive.
Joined your channel at 32000. A couple of months later you're at 74 ,000. Good job! You are a great host, cameraman, writer, editor, producer. Oh yes, makeup artist too! 😉💘😃
Very nice straight forward video from your life in Positano or above. You are talking like a dear old friend, its like Im shortly get to sit down at your kitchen table for tea or coffee. It is very likeable! Thanks and hugs Björn (swedish for bear)!
Mould on your boots reminds me of Whangarei, NZ, where that happened frequently because of the high humidity. We could also never leave washing in the machine for even a few minutes after it finished or it would smell. Out onto the clothesline pronto! Now we live in the Tasman district in the South Island where the climate is drier and we don't have that problem as often.
Thanks Nicki! Your garden is amazing. Also, I love that Holly speaks both English and Italian. I live a a swamp near the coast in New Jersey. De-humidifier has helped us a bit with mold and mildew.
Another great video! My dad had a huge garden for years! When he started having hip problems he stopped the garden. We ate so much of those crops. Mom always canned. No peaches have ever matched hers!
My father in law used to do everything in the garden, but he hasnt' managed to get back up to us for 2 years now . Luckily my brother in law has taken over.
Thank you very much! To hear of your Garden is very attractive für me - sorry my english is not good. I was in Positano two times 1978 and 79. It was my first trip in the south. I was very happy to sea the flowers, the fruits, the sun. I am living in the north of germany, near to danmark. We have a great garden and a greenhouse with tomatoes and chilis. This year it was very warm, nice! But in most of the sommers it is not so warm...my be I visite Positano in the next years once more...Till then i am locking your nice videos. 😊
Just got round to watching this & yep winter in FV daytime around 30c lush nights dropping to 15c which is cold here too as no double glazing no heating & no carpets you can tell a local yes I wear at hat!!
Thanks Nicki, I absolutely love your garden and those stunning views. We live in Melbourne Australia and have very similar soil and climate to positano so also grow lemons, olives and tomatoes and things like carrots and parsnips we have had no luck with at all.
Thanks for the q and a .. must admit very interested is watching Holly and cats up to their antics ... will still follow excellent videos do artistically made ... will be sure to see another dog again like Holly on my travels to Asia. Have a lovely time in quiet Positano I look forward to revisiting Italy next year ... ps your hair looks lovely .. must be all the fresh air and organic fruit and vegetables.. love those fresh giant lemons ... still drinking my meloncello and limoncello
ciao Nicky, sono un Italo australiano maschio, I recently subscribed to your channel and find it most interesting in all categories (except for the makeup segments). Thanks for letting us look into your home, lifestyle, family and of course positano and the surrounding towns. Your adventure to Sydney was interesting, I do the Manly to Spit walk every month. Saluti Franco
I was just thinking about the 465 steps to your home, I think it would be feasible to fit a rail about 18 to 24 inches high from the ground alongside the steps and fit a chair driven by a rechargeable battery/motor, in its down/bottom position it would be on constant charge so it would always have a full charge and be ready to go. I think Carlos would be up for this its just basic engineering.
OK, you try asking the authorities for permission for that! I'll sit back and watch...😂😂We're still waiting for street lighting for night time...let alone a motorised chairlift!
Hola nichi un fuerte abrazo Grasia por compartirnos tu dias en positano me gustan tus videos yo tanbien tengo un huerta me encanta senbrar vejetales pero en tiempo frios es dificil. Besitos
Loving your videos :) Did the house belong to Carlos family or did you both choose it yourselves...how do you really feel about all the steps ...thanks.
Could you keep leather boots etc in plastic vacuum bags with those little silica bags that are in everything you buy? I'm sure you've tried it already but it seems like it should work!
Hi Nicky, another interesting video. You live a dream life. I wish i were there. By the way you look very pretty with your dressy clothing. Do you think is very expensive to rent a house for a month in positano? I would like to stay there for a long period . Thank you so much for sharing. Cheers from NY.💝
If you grew mold on your boots that were in your closet, the mold is most likely on the clothing and anything else in your closet. This can make people quite ill. Mold (Mycotoxin) illness can be dangerous.
the moment you said someone asked you if you live in positano i said to myself i thought those breed of idiots are long gone, how could he ask that stupid question unless it's his first time watching your vlog or never search "positano" in google or youtube nor have seen pictures of your beautiful little heaven, love your vlog or beautiful italian villages for that matter, it's like you are our tour guide taking us around you're beautiful town
I Love Your Videos However, please take what I am About To Say As A Constructive Criticism, I Felt That In This Video You Were Speaking With Alot Of Sarcasm Against Your Followers Almost Like We Were Bothering You. Feeling Your Not So Happy Emotions. Love From My Heart.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Nicki, Zip lock bags with a few packs of silica gel might do the trick for your boots. Thanks for the very informative video. Hi Holly and Allie.

We have a dehumidifier in one room, maybe I'll have to get another one!

that's interesting to know.. can you grow sweet potatoes?
I haven’t tried sweet potatoes we would probably need another garden bed to do them. I imagine they would take up a bit of space.

than you , you are kind!
Wondering if you would spray your boots with fabric guard or water resistant spray if it would help with the mold?

Um, no, haven't tried that! Will do...if I can find a really big jiffy bag!
I hope it works! I have some pretty large ones that can be used to store duvets and pillows, I'm sure you can find something big enough!
something like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Andrew-James-Vacuum-Storage-Bags-27-inc-Large-Extra-Large-Jumbo-Duvet-Bag-/390932446830
I wonder if putting some saddle soap on your leather boots befor putting them away for the summer would help
Love From Jamaica. 🇯🇲🇯🇲🙏❤
Fab video! The painting behind you at the end is lovely, is it of Galway, Ireland?
No, it's St Ives in Cornwall!
Wow. Never knew about the mold. How long did it take you to start your garden?
my father in law started the garden many mnay years ago. Now its my brother in law that looks after it.
Amazing , the length of the video is perfect with how fast I could finish my plate 🤣

Have a look at rental prices on the Summer in Italy website.
I love watching your videos. Did you speak Italian when you first went to Positano?
A little bit, but learned pretty fast!
Love the Q A may is are you and Carlo married and were are pictures??
Really enjoy your Beautiful Videos. ❤🙏
Love your videos!
I walked down the steps from Montepertuso and my calves are still killing me!

Love your garden....I wish I could send you....i a video of ours...just because we enjoy the garden so much.

I think some people find it hard to understand that sometimes people live in different countries from where they were born.
So funny to see a video with 68 questions comments instead of 2000!😂
You don’t wanna be drunk and on your way home or going out...
