Looked great! But this is not how smash burgers are actually made, your smash wasn’t flat enough or you used too much meat. I’d recommend getting a proper smasher and using less meat so you can really smash the patty so that it’s so thin the edges are crispy and caramelized and you can see through it! That’s where the flavor is
"Smash Burgers".... although they have been around forever, these babies are making a huuuuuge comeback all across the country with so many folk that have never had the pleasure of having one. (many have never even heard of them) Now here writing this in Feb. 2021, and as the word on these amazingly fantabulous tasting Smash Burgers gets more circulated, the craving & demand of them is going to be super big this year. PLEASE remember to fulfil your craving of these by supporting the 'Mom n Pop' places that do them just right. Currently, some of the Big Corporate Fast Food Hamburger places (according to some inside sources I know), are working on these in their test kitchens. We don't need them...... we need our local family owned places that bring us the real deal.
That was great! Watched your intro video on the Cuisinart Griddle ... and based on your review we bought one. Came with a dented grease pan and we called them and asked for a replacement. 6 months later it arrived. It was time consuming to replace the pan but we muddled through it. Hats off to The Fulham group for replacing the part and to you for introducing us to this cool very versatile cooker.
Messy = Magnificence!!! Believe me: Big and MESSY smash burgers with grilled onions & melted cheese are the best! An 80/20 blend is 'exactly' what I use at my cookouts, and all my fellow burger-hungry guests can't get enough of them (served with both my own 'homemade' mustard, egg & dill red potato salad - and - sweet oil & vinegar red cabbage-slaw on the side). The 'red is in honor of our favorite college football team. Along with plenty of our favorite ice-cold beer and a big screen TV, we're ALL celebrating victory in 'cookout heaven!'
Great job. I've been making my own version on a cast iron Weber griddle on a Weber Kettle and they are awesome. I encourage everyone to try these and make your own version. Endless sauces and condiment ideas out there. It's not likely I'll ever make a typical burger ever again. Thanks for sharing.
Those smash burgers look fantastic Jared! Dripping with cheese, and yep American cheese slices work perfect for em. Awesome job brother and keep on cookin!
Made these this evening. The wife had never had smash burgers before and loved them, they are really juicy. I made them singles, with extras if wanted. Just add the cheese. I will make your sauce next time. Thx for the interesting vid!!
I will avoid negative comment on the processed cheese. It does melt quickly and gives nice coverage on a burger. Looks delicious. Did you have an Infantry platoon coming over for lunch? Lots of burger balls.
Those patties are way more than 1.5 oz lol. Thats probably also why it wasn't as razor thin as most smash burgers. Lastly, i think it would help to put the onions on the griddle first, then smash the burger into it. Less mess and you get the onions incorporated into the patty beautifully. Hope you get to try it again soon!
Yep, they were definitely closer to 3 ounces - I'll use the scale next time. Interesting idea on the onions, maybe I'll try that next time but I was really pleased with how these turned out.
Mennn i love your energy while recording the video, seriously awesome. For the next time try to put bacon to the hamburger. Greetings from argentina 🇦🇷
Looks good But i think the lattys to thick to be considered a smash burger Yes there was smashing But the burgers look pretty average Edit: im not hating on this burger as i said it looks good But i also forgot to mention with pattys this thick i think a tomato and lettuce would make this perfect But other wise GREAT JOB DUDE! Looks absolutely amazing Looks as if you enjoyed every bite
I'm not offended by American cheese, I'm just always amazed when folks go for the individually wrapped ones as opposed to the "Deli Slices." So much mess and waste with all those stupid wrappers. Also, am I the only person who smashes the burger ON TOP of the onions? The onions get much more caramelized and integrated into the patty.
Looks good but those are not smashburgers. You're supposed to smash them within 30 secs after they hit the grill and get them super thin so that the edges get crispy, yours were too thick that why you ended up with normal sized patties at the end. Still looks delicious.
those balls you had were way more than 1.5. I do smashburgers with 2.5 oz balls and they are thinner than the patties you had. Are you sure you meant 1.5 oz?
First - they are mouthwatering! I can almost smell and taste them! Second - your weights are waaaaaaay off! A 1.5oz ball of meat is only 42.5gm, not 70. Even a 70gm ball is pathetically small at only 2.5oz. Your meat balls need to be a minimum of 4oz (that's 1/4 lb). The patties in this video look to be closer to or over 5oz, which is about the max you want to go. It gets difficult to smash them thin enough if they get much bigger.
i love smashburgers... now with onion. you know we have whitemanna in NJ. they use a tiny and pathetic and weak griddle. No browing occurs on a patty. and they are voted top 5 in the USA. After I learned how to cook smashburger from you (i think you have the best instruction) and other youtubers i stopped going and saved loads of money. you should start a burger joint.
Two burgers on one bun is gross. And American cheese is full of chemicals and preservatives. Get real cheddar, which tastes better ànd its healthier. And stop buying ready made ground beef at the stores. That's Americans being lazy. Instead of likely getting mystery beef, buy your own roasts, and make your own ground beef. Use a meat cleaver or knife. And if you think its too much work, then you, and your family deserve to get sick eating crap.
You had me at Smash burgers!
Thanks Suhail!!

Are you going to ask for his manager next?
@@Lonewolf_1776 I would just directly ask for a refund
@@Lonewolf_1776 he’s right though, proper smashers are available on Amazon for like $12.

O that was amazing. Nothing beats Kraft Singles for a burger or grilled cheese.
Here's what I do I put the onions down on a griddle 1st in a nice little bed for the hamburger to rest on then I smash it down on top of The Onions.
Was watching an older Guga foods video you were in. Which brought me here. Gave a sub and like. Those smash burgers looked awesome. Great video😎
thank you, this is happening at our house this weekend
I started making these burgers a couple months ago. They're insanely good.
When he raised the burger for a bite i found myself leaning into the pc screen...LOL!!!
I love the idea of putting dill into the mayo-ketchup-mustard sauce!
This is probably the best burger ever. You can literally feel how juicy it is. Have to give it a try anytime soon... 🤤🤤🤤
That looks delicious! Thank you so much for sharing this. Thumbs up!
New to your channel and will definitely be watching more. Those are amazing looking smash burgers, love the onions.
Thanks Dan and welcome to the channel.
Yeah I agree, but there needs to be like triple that amount!

We’ll said Pops!
These burgers look immaculate.
You don't often see the thicker smash burger. Definitely going to try.
Another great video thank you !! Was just watching your past smash burger video and came across this one. Nice touch incorporating the onions!

Man I want that knife!!!
The knife is a Bob Kramer Zwilling chefs knife. Looks like a 10 inch
I want the watch, but I’ll take a smash burger.

Ounce and a half? Thats a 3+ ounce meat balls damn 😂
Haha, I know right. I went a little overboard with those balls.
Ounce and a half is a quarter pounder at McD's...
Gotta love this guy! Most youtubers cook their own burger, he cooks for the whole block! Great video until we got the 02:20!
Thats a friggin work of art.
Looks so good. Now I'm hungry
I've been making smashburgers for about a year and I haven't looked back yet
Wow great smash burgers for my business.🙏🏽✊🏾
The only word who can to my mind right now is Glorious
Look really really good, American cheese is a must for smash burgers, if you haven't tried these yet do it, best burgers you can make.
Sooo juicy, tasty and crunchy. Onions add that extra flavor in the mix that tops it all!
Seems like no matter how you make them they look delicious!

Great video! Looks amazing!
Your comment on the Kraft single is why I what to try making my own american cheese, like the flavor but not the ingredients lol
What kinda watch is that? It’s awesome!
Awesome 🍔 burgers!!!
Looks good, but that is way bigger than 1.5 ounces like you said. That's more like 4 ounces
Was thinking the same thing!
Actually make normal Hmaburgers sometimes. I want to see how you make these
Either it's my YT algorythm, or normal burgers just don't exist at this point anymore because all I see is smash burgers 🤣
Now me and my kids want smashed burgers!
Might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer processed cheese for a burger. Nothing melts like it, and it's all about the texture!
Superb!!
perfect burgers....
Looks amazing! You may consider Sargentos because it's real quick melting cheese without being g made with so much crap!
Cool. I subscribed.

Yummy burger mate. Can I suggest to add some bacon to get a crunchy taste or a fried egg.
80 20 ground chuck with short rib tho......you need a steak weight to press the patties down.
Yummy
Why not grate the onion on top of the burgers after they are smashed? Or, grate onion into the ground beef before dividing them into burger balls?
Damn that looks fucking good bro keep it up.

Yea man that looked great a little grease but good could have had a little more veggies
These look fucking outstanding!!!
Ooh i need a griddle
Tksss, why you use paper tô smash the burger?
It prevents the spatula from sticking to the burger... so when you go to pull the spatula away, it doesn't take part of the burger with it.
I don’t like mustard will the sauce still come out good?
Yes
Mmmmmmm!!!!!
I wish i could order from u lol
So much better than Ballistic Burgers. Greg will probably say that you copied him.
No, Greg’s a good guy. He wouldn’t say that

What heat setting do you set your griddle to?
Max heat

those balls you had were way more than 1.5. I do smashburgers with 2.5 oz balls and they are thinner than the patties you had. Are you sure you meant 1.5 oz?
Those were def 3 - 4 oz patties. I think he misspoke. In any event, they looked awesome :)
1.5oz is 45grs, but yeah.
Looks good but perhaps if you smash balls first, onions would stay on burgers much better.
You didn't use near enough onion.
Thats a Big onion where You get it?
#Maxthemeatguy
That's an Oklahoma burger.
70 grams is basically 2.5 ounces each, not 1.5 ounces. I too make my balls 2.5 ounces each, which I think makes an ideal size patty.
You had me until you used mayo for toasting over butter.
I’ll give them ago and post my results ☝️
I’d love to hear how you go! Good luck.
Not much luck with the onions first time round ha

Use hot English mustard its not as sickly sweet as American mustard

@@Zipfei_Kloatscher yeah like yellow mayonnaise
American mustard isn’t sweet at all. It’s vinegar based.
