A fantastic look at one of the Karting Tracks that I want to visit, seems like one that rewards a driver that can control the Kart without sliding around and losing momentum.
I worked for Daytona long ago, some good memories! Had so much fun when first promoting D-max, even raced current racing drivers, beating them around this track was so much fun, it's all about the knowledge 😉
Hey Matt If you're ever looking to be doing this Go-kart series internationally, I'd recomend Vandel Go-kart in Denmark. One of, if the best outdoor Go-kart track in Denmark. So yeah ;)
In my opinion, The best Karting Track I have been to in the UK so far. Can not wait to come back after getting a 1.08.261 on my very first try of the Track. LOVED IT.
Do you know the conditions Lewis Hamilton drove in when he set his time on your Celebrity Stars board? I'm guessing they weren't too great, but I managed to visit you in July 2016 (would love to go back, really great circuit, hard to find time with living in Japan though) and my best time was 67.722 (avg 68.978) vs Hamilton's 68.980, so it's been bothering me all this time haha
Im currently racing in the Superchamps series they run here. I have to say, T7, the second left hand hairpin is a nightmare for me in Sodi. I am still struggling to get it properly nailed
I won the championship at this circuit in 2017 in cadet on the national circuit. The karts are very old and all have rock hard tyres. They also vary in performance(sometimes quite considerably). It’s a good track overall for a bit of fun in arrive and drive as well as the inkart
I’ve driven at all of the Daytona tracks And Daytona Milton Keynes is definitely my favourite one out of them Especially in the wet Daytona Milton Keynes is really fun in the wet
Shadsy The Hedgehog track’s a lot grippier which makes it fun to drive in the wet and the karts are slightly better and also the track is fun to drive around and the facilities are also quite nice
I have pictures of this from when it was being built and was called Daytona racing and used James Hunt as the led name for promotion. I even met him once, when he was already looking rather the worse for wear, albeit with a blonde on his arm as you might expect. A few years later he was dead. I knew it intimately in those days as I designed a computerised car timing system for it's original incarnation. That was based on an American model where anybody could turn up, buy a number of laps, each run as a time trial. Each lap was from a standing start using lights. The cars were open wheel and styled as a sort of mini F1 car. However, they were relatively simple with a solid rear axle and using an automatic clutch and continuously variable belt-driven gearbox. They had rear braking only, and would thus readily spin out if braking was not performed in a straight line. This was all by design to make it tricky. However, that was also a major problem in that a single spin-out would mean activating a circuit long yellow (using lights) and deferring starts until cleared. As the finances were dependent on the number of laps sold, this was a problem. Also, the bespoke cars were not reliable and caused endless problems. It ran for maybe a year or so in this state, but eventually went bankrupt. Later it was revived as the go-kart track we see now. It was an interesting experience for me, and I still have the second, stand-by computer control system for the circuit which is sitting in my garage. I also have a full copy of the documentation for the hardware and software design of the computer systems, all it's peripherals and the operator manual (all written by me). There was, however, a small fibreglass hut in front which is where the operator of the computer system was based and where the customers were allocated their cars and picked up the print out of their lap times.
super random and unrelated... but here's an idea for a future video, given the overall racing theme of your Chanel maybe you could document/vlog show you designing your own helmet, like from concept to collaborating with/ a designer, to the paint process, and to the final product ☺️☺️
I been to this track once. Absolutely brilliant to drive. What are your best times? I did 1:11.8 I can't remember what kart I done but yea. Was done about 2 years ago using full layout
My best times are shown in the video, but I must add that I only had 8 minutes on track for each kart, was the hottest day of the year and was one of the first to drive it since it reopened 😂
always wanted to kart here, seen it as you go past on the train but i live in manchester and its generally quite a struggle to kart because of the prices and finding the time
@Owen Armitage It looks like they scaled down the old Hockenheim, mirrored it, and added in that twisty infield section to make it more suitable for karts. I'm 100% sure it was inspired by Hockenheim.
What’s it like in the Sodis there in the dry I have done Sodis there but every time it’s been pissing it down with rain and the only time I did do a dry session I was in the Junior karts
Josh Hawkins doesn’t matter what track you go to even if you’re very inexperienced - if you’re uncomfortable with the speed, there are some local indoor tracks I believe
Mackenzie Stevens sodis can be a little understeery compared to biz karts but tbh I really like them - very consistent and good karts specially if you keep it smooth with the right foot
Hi Ben, we strongly disagree 😉 We checked our records and noticed you’ve not been since 2013. We welcome you to return and reevaluate. Hope to see you soon, Team Daytona 🏎🏁
I disagree, for me is the best kart circuit in UK, you can't judge something based only on one bad experience. Granted, I had my share of bad experiences there, but that's life , nothing is perfect, people have bad days, you can get bad luck with the kart if a previous customer managed to almost break it, without the the marshals noticing. There so many things which can go wrong. But if you talk with calm and patience, without being angry, they always did everything they could to fix my problem. Also, indoor you can't drive on a wet track, and that is the most fun you can have in a kart ;)

The car in the background is reversing pretty fast
Lol
Yeah on those roads speed limit is 70, most road in Milton Keynes are and they just reversed the footage that's why it's even faster than normal
@@a1productline175 No, that roads a sixty cos its a single carriageway mate

Ayy that was me doing the tuition in the orange high vis, great video, great track 👌

I went to this track last year and drove both karts. Amazing how you mention basically everything I was thinking when I was racing there too 😂
In my opinion, The best Karting Track I have been to in the UK so far.

LOVED IT.
Lol dmax, you’ll be lucky to do a session without it dying/ breaking on you🤣
Man like Toby how u doing, such a true statement 😂
I drove in one for 50 minutes straight in soaking rain, not a single problem
I’ve done DMax
Just feels like my kart but with shitty grip
Salt same I’ve done a 15 minute session in those karts in the rain but at the Tamworth circuit
Apparently they are getting new ones don't know what track tho
I'm going to Daytona MK this week with my unis karting society, with people that actually do this competitively so cheers for the help 😂
Great video Matt and thank you for the insightful and honest review. We look forward to hosting you at Daytona Sandown Park and Daytona Tamworth soon!

If you ever get the chance to go to Bahrain, Their karting track is world class, A lot of the drivers book the track on race week
Brand spanking new DMAX at Daytona Milton Keynes now!

Daytona Milton Keynes is really fun in the wet
Mackenzie Stevens not us fun as pfi in the wet 😆
What? The MK venue is the worst one. The Tamworth venue is certainly the best
Shadsy The Hedgehog I mean Tamworth is a good circuit but still Milton Keynes is better
@@stevensracing2229 Alright. What about MK do you find better?
Shadsy The Hedgehog track’s a lot grippier which makes it fun to drive in the wet and the karts are slightly better and also the track is fun to drive around and the facilities are also quite nice
I love this track, been here often won a soaking wet race in the dmaxes
i went a few weeks ago and its the best track i have ever driven
I managed 1:13.3 in torrential rain today. That was in the 50mph kart. Not been in a kart for probably 15 years. Felt pretty good and oddly confident.
Raced at White City many times, many years ago, was at the MK circuit yesterday, in a Dmax....in the rain 😕😕
Great video keep it up
I live 10 mins from Daytona but I still have never been even living here for 15 years. I’m now deffo going to go this summer
me too, lets go together
AMAZING DMAX

Crazy to think I’ve raced at the same place as F1 drivers
Not really!
I've done track days at Silverstone and Brands Hatch, real race tracks.
super random and unrelated... but here's an idea for a future video, given the overall racing theme of your Chanel
maybe you could document/vlog show you designing your own helmet, like from concept to collaborating with/ a designer, to the paint process, and to the final product ☺️☺️
They used to have one in Trafford, but they sold it to TeamSport UK
That's a pretty comprehensive review for a rental kart facility
Their new karts are in! Who's up for a session??
Awesome video matey! How were you able to book out the circuit?
I try to collaborate with all the tracks I visit :)
Less of a pace difference than between F1 and F2.
Looool i grew up on that track
I been to this track once. Absolutely brilliant to drive. What are your best times? I did 1:11.8

I'm from MK and I've never been but it is very popular
always wanted to kart here, seen it as you go past on the train but i live in manchester and its generally quite a struggle to kart because of the prices and finding the time
Holy crap, that DMAX costs as much as it does to rent a plane to fly around!
Really want to go here and try the DMAX karts sometime
Matt quick question does your hand ever hurt from steering alot an gripping the wheel
Hi Matt u should visit formula fast in Milton Keynes. It’s a great indoor circuit
Last time i was this early i had my first homework
What’s the senior rotax max Lap record there these days?
Hi nice vid
Name had me thinking I could drive there lol
As someone from mk this is all we have
I have never been even tho i have lived here basically my whole life, gonna try and go this summer
They don't allow me to use a chin mount anymore
Howcomes i used one just last week
@@Dr.Stacker I think they were having a bit of a weird moment at the time. They let me use one at the 24hr last May (won 4t class🤩)
My brother works here
Yoo I used to work here
there is no way those Dmax's do 70mph. More like 55-60 at a push.
They should've called it Hockenheim Milton Keynes.
@Owen Armitage It looks like they scaled down the old Hockenheim, mirrored it, and added in that twisty infield section to make it more suitable for karts. I'm 100% sure it was inspired by Hockenheim.
F1 tracks but scaled down to go kart size, what if that existrd
Or PFI
i’ve been here lmao
Europeans: Oh cool! I love Daytona the Go-Kart Track!
Americans: DO DO DO DO DOOO. DAYTONAAAAAAAA BUGITY BUGITY BUGITY, LETS GO RACIN’ BOIYSS!!!!!
Semi pro racer here, I’ve been to this track in both karts and I’m answering any karting / racing questions anyone has - ask me anything down below :)
i haven’t been karting in 8 years - would you recommend this track to beginners
What’s it like in the Sodis there in the dry

its Mercedes vs Ferrari
I live in mk
Who else thought it was Daytona Superspeedway
This karts are terrible 🤦♂️
Milton Keynes is probably the worst kart circuit in the UK. I’d rather go indoor.

Daytona Motorsport lmaoooooo
Why would you rather go indoors 🤣😭
I agree. Being a regular at the Tamworth venue I can say the Tamworth one far outclasses the MK one
