you are gonna be tempted to do some hard shit. but unless the girl is already a good boarder you will end up spending more time trying to regroup. my advice if she is a beginner just trick around on the bunny slopes. its less time waiting for regroups and if you eat it pulling a trick she wont have to hike back up to you.
Did the same in the 90s. Bought all videos with my friends and watched them over and over again. I watched the tricks that I wanted to learn frame by frame to study how they start the trick before the take off and how to balance the weight and how to steer the rotation during the jump by looking in a certain direction or staying compact etc.
@@sebastiankolter Back in the days I could do a trick or two. It sure helped me a lot to study those videos. I think before being able to land any "complex" trick, you have to really understand it in your hand first, and have the confidence that you can actually land this. And of course, you have to be prepared to eat shit over and over sometimes. I remember one of my favorite days in my snowboarding life, where we had the most epic powder I have ever had, and we build some kickers in the pow and I landed my first backflip, my first misty flip 7 and my first frontside rodeo 7 on that single day. Couldn't believe that. I was so stoked.
I'm still on season one ! Two days snowboarding and as a rider in many other sports (surf wakeboard skateboard) it came so naturally it blew my mind !! it's like I jumped out the chairlift and knew how to ride. Feels so good I can't even look at my skis anymore. Believe it or not I was hitting the park at the end of day two
Same. I surfed and skated and skied as a kid. Mid 40s and went snowboarding. Ate it most of the day learning the board's reaction to things. Hit hard a lot then...I said F it and jumped off the steepest slope at the resort. Everything clicked. It was the first run I didn't fall. I felt connected to the mountain for the first time. Surfed it all the way down. I sure didn't want to fall at those speeds. After that I fell a few times but not bad.
i came off windsurfing. 5 hours into snowboarding (mostly powder) an i can turn, jump and do wheelies ( or however they are called). on steep slopes i can only stop by ninja vanish and never appear again atm 🤣
Gonna try to throw some of these down this season. Gonna be my second season snowboarding, only made it out twice last year but I feel like I picked things up very fast!!
You shouldn’t be worried about tricks yet, it’s my 8th season snowboarding and I’ve noticed that simply getting better at harder terrain such as mogul blacks and stuff of that sort helps you get comfortable on medium terrain in order to do some tricks
@@alpayatayt5121 i'm only worried about tricks because I picked up snowboarding faster than 99% of people, its just natural to me, i've already went down a black diamond and i've only been twice. Some people just take longer and thats fine but not for me :D

I’m going on my 15th year snowboarding and I’ve got down the speed like a demon runs and now all I wanna do is being able to add onto those runs to make them look better
softer flex boards will make any trick where you are flexing the board/bending the board easier, but it can still be done with a stiff board usually. probably the only one in this video you need a board with at least a medium-soft flex is the tail block. everything else you should be good
I actually did the BS tail drag once, not fast of course but still very fun. It was my first 3 days of snowboarding. I can't wait it to be winter again. 3 weeks no snow is really depressing D:
I went snowboarding for my first time and I basically did some weak ninja vanishes because the "beginner" slopes at this mountain were super steep and I would pick up speed as soon as I got on my feet. Naturally I would do toe turns and kick up snow 😅 Looked impressive I bet, until a couple moments later when I would do a heel turn and slide on my butt 💀
Hi there ! I want to shred and work on basic spins and grabs in the park and I’m looking for an intermediate/advanced all-mountain freestyle board that is playful and stable enough but not too stiff (around 4 to 6 flex), do tou guys have any recommandations ? What do you think about the Jones Tweaker or the Capita Doa ?
@@ShredSchool1 mostly gunna be riding resorts in California. Maybe some Colorado trips. I am looking to improve my skills on the mountain with small tricks and getting a little more speed Edit: I have an orca for the more powdery conditions
@@MrBobDigits if you want to learn more tricks, personally I would go for a 154. I'm 6'1 175lbs and ride a 154 for rails and early season, and 156 for big jumps and free riding. Honestly, I've never ridden a 158. I would probably only ride it for big mountain terrain if I was charging steep chutes etc... and jumping off cliffs.
a 155 to 158 with a flex rating of 4 is tons of fun, honestly it doesn't matter if its a 156 or a 158 flex is what you really feel, hard flex is for hard conditions and speedy carves with a lot of pop, low flex is for the butter tricks and lower speed stuff, both do park but i like soft boards better. It sound like you don't ride a ton so here is a tip I ride all weekend every weekend for the past 17 years (since I was 3) I watch people get so hung up on the details of this board or that board oh these bindings and boots have this or that, at the end of the day any new board will be great, just ride and ride until you wear the board out, just ride until you figure out what you like but figuring that out is different for everyone and takes a while
So what’s the probability of snapping your board trying to the tail block? I have a 2021 Burton Custom and while i expect it to be some solid build quality, I’m still mildly paranoid lol.
