Hahaha! Good one. However the reason for the the solder could stick to the Aluminium is not because of the normal process of soldering with copper. It is because while scratching we create some minute channels. Later when we apply the molten solder it gets a grip with the base. Later when we connect another copper wire we are able to get a good joint. However after sometime the Aluminium will get Oxidised and similar to even a Copper to Copper soldered joint fails, which we call as a Dry Solder, this joint will fail faster. Even when joining two PVC components the idea of using an Emery paper to create a little bit rough surface is for Resin to get a better hold to both the parts.(sorry for the comment is a bit long) Thanks

The correct flux for Aluminium is Fluoride and you can get it from a welding consumable sales place like C.I.G. this prevent the oxide layer forming. I have used this for oxy welding Aluminium as well.

Selten so gelacht!
@@kelfetingis It is entirely reasonable to equate the two, so I asked AI: "In summary, while both processes involve oxidation, the terms "rust" and "oxidized aluminum" refer to distinct chemical reactions occurring in iron/steel and aluminum respectively. The aluminum oxide layer is a protective coating, not rust". My retort: It seems ignorant to label anyone as such. Instead, far more helpful to explain a correction.
@@joepkortekaas8813 @Mrbobinge I acknowledge my mistake, and possibly I am an ignoramus but I was not trying to be ignorant. There again arrogance is another matter. I was only trying to pose an opinion. Difference is not wrong just different, this goes to the problems in our world today. Is Aluminum anodization is a form of oxidization that is purposely surfaced on the product to protect it??I heard the one must remove any anodized or oxidized layer to promote suitable bonding of substrates. Inert gases or fluxes are used to prevent reactive areas of the joint to make a homogonous material. I believe that this is common amongst most bonds. Therefore rust or oxidization impurities are relatively the same sort substance?? All having oxygen reacting with the material be it Fe, Al, Pb, Ga Zn etc all are a form of rust (to me)...

Just drill a small hole in the aluminum and attach a crimp connector to the wire and bolt it in place. Much stronger.
