I don't cry very easily, but this movie actually made me sob for hours and broke my heart. Everytime I come across an edit or snippet of this movie, I have to pause so I control myself and don't end up crying. This was very easily traumatic for me because I definitely don't want to give all of myself to a partner who genuinely loves me only for them to end up dead very young. Not after this movie lol. Genuinely a heartbreaking movie and one of the most painful. There was a reason i always ignored angsty movies :/.

Bro exaaaaactly. I've stopped watching anime all together too lol. First it was Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood that 'broke me' in a sense. Then it was Akame ga kill (really fucked me up). Then the last straw was Violet Evergarden, bro I cried so much watching that haha. Then it was bunch of romance animes after that to heal me which still made me cry (the crushing loneliness lmao). After allllll that, my fragile heart couldn't take no more and I finally stopped ༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ. Although occasionally I'll turn on spirited away as it was my first anime movie, just for that nostalgia. Still makes me cry though 😂.

this is a really good amv the dialogue takes away from it though.
