In the original MW3, let alone storyline, he… -Got shot point blank by Makarov. -Slid down a steep muddy hill into rapids while a gunship was targeting him. -Fell out a multi story building that exploded. -Was punched down a flight of stairs head first. -Was impaled by a piece of rebar in a hotel. And every time he got back up and kept on going.

Gets invaded by fucking Napoleon Bonaparte and the largest invasion in European history up to that point, annihilates the best army in Europe and takes Paris 2 years later. Gets invaded by Germany...TWICE within 30 years: takes Berlin and makes Germany it's bitch for the next 50 years. And our strategy is to...antagonize them? US military gas mask training drills give you seconds from "Gas! Gas! Gas!" warning to hold your breath immediately, close your eyes, pull out your gas mask from its carrier, and then don and clear your mask. Time is such an issue in this kind of emergency that the training states that you MUST don and clear your own mask first before anyone else. If you screw this up? Too bad buddy, you're gonna die. You're not sprinting through a whole damn building, CLIMBING LADDERS and all that physical activity forcing you to breathe, and not take in the gas. If this was real she'd be dead and it's game over.
Out of the Russians characters I have seen in Modern Warfare. Yuri is problably the one I respect the most. He's a soldier. He knows what he fights for yet he still respects his opponent America. It's what makes him likable for me.

I like the symbolism when Yuri puts the USB drive into the light, both figuratively and literally bringing evidence of Malarov's crimes into the light.
I remember playing this campaign, just how naively high my expectations were. I thought the very first mission you were playing as Yuri, and that throughout he would slowly see how insane Makarov truly was and eventually either get shot and left behind, or betray Malarov first and join 141 in a blood thirsty gambit for revenge... Instead he's in a 5 minute cutscene and then completely disappears.
For sure they are making a fourth game maybe a fifth. We are definitely gonna see more of these characters for sure in MW4 and perhaps MW5. So don’t get your panties in a bunch

His new design for his look is terrible, he looks like a skinhead now, no badass tattoos either (i get it’s a reboot but at least try to make him look similar, also the face looks really weird 2. Then there's MW3 Yuri, a Russian that stands against Makarov lunacy, a man willing to stand against the tide, someone that hates Makarov so much more than Price himself, he was with 141 throughout the entire of MW3, and even though he was Makarov friend, he hates him for his hunger for power, and doesn't want to kill the Innocent, he was so significant in the story, he helped Price get revenge and kill Makarov, his death was not in futile, without him Price would have been dead if he didn't appeared and shoot Makarov.

She didn't breathe them in, the helicopter's rotors prevented the gas from getting in, then they flew higher than the gas itself.
