One of my favorite banters in the game that really made me see Hikari as a sweet bean was when he agreed to play poker with Temenos and Throne. While those two try shrewd tactics to win, Hikari sings a traditional Ku song to keep his composure which moves Temenos and Throne so much they forfeit. Hikari you sweet child. He really does feel like a good older brother of the group alongside Partitio. Plus he was also a godsend when it came to damage against the superboss. Warmaster Hikari is a force to be reckon with.

I knew Agnea would be my favorite the moment I saw her in the trailer. Her design, her bubbly optimism, her Celtic-sounding theme, and even having Xanthe Huyne as an English VA helped. Why is she so good at playing sweet, gentle waifus who turn out to be dangerous power houses (eg, Haru and Marianne)!? 😂😊

*"Agnea's optimistic, but she's not naive. She understands how tough the world is & puts on a happy face in spite of that. Ochette has no idea what she's getting into, which is her greatest weakness, but also her greatest strength"*
Feeling a strange case of Deja Vu

@@Onefanguy you can discount it though, with Partitio's talent. Hire someone with the ability to give you discounts when you buy it (preferably 20% or 30%) and you can get it with a discount! What’s funny with Ochette is the fact that she acts like the youngest out of the 8, yet she’s technically not the youngest(she’s 20 and Agnea is 18)

My top 3 were Partitio, Castti, and Ochette.
Also, I really agree with you with Castti’s story. Never before was I so invested in a video game’s story. In some ways, I found it darker and more twisted than Throné’s. And that investment…
Okay, funny story. Due to a combination of wanting the story to have a happy ending, a stomach churning hatred for Trousseau, and annoyance at the poison rain preventing my more methodical stalling play-style. So I decided to circumvent the game’s intended challenge and solve the problem MY way. I went out and did a shit-load of grinding for money to get all the extra Merchant job licenses so all 4 characters in my party could have merchant. Then I farmed even more money and unlocked Hired Help for everyone. After just rushing through the dungeon to confront Trousseau…
I was significantly under leveled. The monsters in the dungeon on the way to Trousseau kept one shotting me. It was through pure chance and determination I brute forced my way to the top floor by running. I turned what should have been a half-hour or so final boss, into a mob justice public execution where I tied him up and had a bunch of random strangers beat him to death. All with just my wits, some invaluable items, and a whole lot of money.
He may have been the bad guy, but I felt like the evil mastermind that day.

    • @jackall-trades6149
      @jackall-trades6149 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Trousseau is a hyperbolic example of healthcare burnout. Not near to that extreme, but ask anyone who works in that field and they'll be able to tell you how he ended up that way. Castti is the mirror example, recognizing its psychological toll and coming to peace with it. The writers really knew what they were doing with the career paths of the cast.

Agnea honestly is my favorite not only of II's travelers but ALL of the travelers. I was initially torn between her and Osvald as my protag, with Osvald appealing to mage bias + utility of him geting free weakness reveals (experienced cyrus protag). But ultimately I was drawn more to the Agnea due to how much of a departure her story seemed to be from Primrose and my curiosity got the better of me. I knew I made the right choice as soon as I saw her downright ADORABLE night path action animation. Cemented even further when it was quickly revealed she does have an accent but her accent only slips out when she gets every emotional in some way.
Storywise I fully concede that hers is arguably the least deep and connected to the overarcing plot, but honestly does it NEED to be? After I beat the game and had time to sit on it, I realized what exactly it was about her story that I loved the most: It *isn't* high stakes or dark. It's just generally a light hearted story of a village girl with huge dreams bringing back hope and smiles to those who've lost them. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. As an avid RPG player im used to more serious high stakes stories that I've come to appreciate more silly and lighthearted stories way more. It's why I've played so many Dragon Quest games but only played 2 final fantasies: Its just more fun.
As a veteren of Octopath I, I saved Agnea's story for last as I assumed the credits roll after your protag's final chapter and wanted as many bosses in the end credits as possible. By the time I had gotten there I already knew about the remixed traveler themes playing as their final boss music so I was fully prepared to hear Agnea's final boss theme (especially since her theme was also one of my favorites.) But let me tell you, I was not prepared for the conclusion to the story of Agnea "I canonically wrote my own final boss theme." Bristarni. The Song of Hope completely blew me away, there was genuinely no better way to end the 8 main stories that that imo.
I know she tends to be looked down upon cause of her and her story not being that deep, but thats honestly why I found myself so endeared to her. Not every character NEEDS to have a huge character arc to shape their development just to be a good character. Sometimes a character can simply be the emotional backbone of the group, lifting everyone else up when they need a leg to stand on. Agnea doesn't need to be connected to the overarcing plot to have a reason to fight. She's a lot like Sylvando from DQXI in that regard. When everything is at its darkest, all you need is a pure ray of sunshine to bring back the dawn.

I started with H'aanit in OT1, because I gravitate towards bow-and-arrow specialists; I decided to go with Ochette to keep up that tradition, and she did not disappoint! As with H'aanit, she practically carried my teams through most of the stories, and her own story had a very "coming full circle" kind of energy. Plus, her theme is so cheerful and full of wonder and adventure! Second place goes to Castti, who was almost my starting character; I'm glad these two got their Crossed Paths together!

Glad to see my man Partitio up that high. He was the one I started with and quickly became my favorite, not in small part for how amazing his theme music was. But just the character and his infectuous positivity, as well as the great goal of "eliminating that devil called poverty from the world." And yea, he rocks that hat and coat amazingly well. Made it a shame to give him a different job so he loses those in battle.
Though small correction, you don't need to do all three of his Smell of Commerce quests to access his chapter 3, you only need to do one of them. Any one will do. However the ship is mandatory to reach his chapter 4.

Dang it! I'm going to have to be spoiled on this great game when I haven't finished the first yet... Oh well here we go!
    8. I guess Olberic set the bar too high. Oh well that fire emblem comparison makes me think of a younger Ryoma.
    7. Oh well. I guess the revenge angle is common with thieves
    6. Ah so Marianne became a dancer. Makes sense given her Brave Alt is a fan favorite.
    5. Dang talk about a tone shift for the scholar. Poor Osvald!
    4. Snack? Snack? Also not human? Cool!
    3. Whoa... so he's the opposite from Ophelia? And the gods know of the church's corruption? Cool!
    2. I guessed he was high up given Ignis' title card
    1. So team mom gets number 1... and her amnesia plotline works? I'll need some herbs from her because I'm suffering from shock.
And as a final note, I should mention that Investigations 2 also had an amnesia plotline that worked. A shame nobody remembers it because it was only released in Japan.

I'm glad to see Castti at the top of this list. The ability to boost concotions by spending BP is an ingenious upgrade from OT1. But what really won me over was the story; it was the one I was most emotionally invested in and by the end I just wanted to give her a hug.
I was actually really hooked by Hikari's story too. His constant musings on "friendship" were a bit tiresome but his rivalry with Mugen is what really sold me. While Mugen plots to continue Ku's legacy of bloodshed and conquest, Hikari aspired to rebuild Ku as a peaceful nation and it's awesome to see their ideologies clash.
Agnea was also one of my favourites. She combines the best aspects of Tressa and Ophilia (two of my favourite characters from OT1), with the former's go-getter attitude and the latter's unwavering kindness. Dolcinaea was admittedly an unremarkable villian to start but they really bring it back in the final chapter. After trying and failing to break Agnea's spirit, she drops the entitlement and humbly steps down, acknowledging Agnea as the better dancer.

I agree that this gem of a game got royally robbed at the game awards. But in all seriousness, I loved Cassti’s character and abilities. I also really liked Partitio’s story about helping those with hopes and dreams in capitalism, achieve them and get them out of poverty. Partitio went through hell and back when it came to trying to make a living in the beginning, and i can easily relate to that since I’ve been going through hell and back for most of my life. Though I still went with Hikari as my first traveler, just because I did Olberic first in the original. This was a great video regardless, loved every second, and got some good tips on strategies for each of the characters.

Funny you should mention Octopath 3, Oscar... I've got a theoretical traveler squad lined up and ready to go- they represent the same deities, sure, but their classes are a BIIIIIT different..
Aelfric the Flamebringer is represented by Omar, the Paladin. He wields spears and staves, as well as light magic and some rudimentary healing(not as potent as, say, Ophelia's or Temenos', but still). His motivation is setting the record straight after some shenanigans within his order have him ousted as a heretic.
Dohter the Charitable is represented by Caswell, the Herbalist. His kit includes Axes and Daggers, as well as an array of healing herbs he can use. He's on this journey to find a mystical herb that can cure all ills to combat an illness that shortens his lifespan.
Alephan the Scholar-King is represented by Trish, the Inventor. This bubbly spitfire wields Staves and Bows, as well as having prime access to Wind and Electric attacks. Her story is similar to Partitio's, traveling the land and helping others with her inventions.
Sealtige, Lady of Seduction is represented by Oliver, the Bard. This bow-wielding ballad-belter keeps his friends spirits up with his songs, but he isn't afraid to feather someone between the eyes if the going gets rough. He seeks to learn all about the legends of the land for inspiration- and perhaps to write a legend or two of his own.
Brand, the Thunderblade, is represented by Presea, the Mercenary. Swords and Axes are her forte, but she's less tanky than her Warrior predecessors, focusing more on all-out offense. After a traitor in her mercenary troupe indirectly- and in one case, VERY directly- causes the deaths of the rest of her comrades, she goes on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge to bring that backstabber the FRONT-stabbing he so rightly deserves... And make sure he can never hurt anyone ever again.
Draefendi, the Huntress, is represented by Alexander, the Trapper. He's a spear-and-dagger specialist, focusing on counters and crippling opponents. HIs motivation, however, is his real selling point- he's not a Trapper in it for the money or the thrill of the hunt, but rather a wildlife cataloguer, seeking out the rare beasts that eluded his late elderly mentor. He also acts as a bit of a Blue Mage with his Cataloguing that takes the place of the capture mechanic.
Bifelgan, the Great Merchant, is represented by Tisiphone, the Noble. She favors Swords, but also has some Fire and Ice magic to work with, being a bit of a Spellblade of sorts. Her story kicks off when, despite her greedy uncle sheltering her from the world, she sneaks out one time to find out that life is FAR from rosey for those who live outside her manor's walls. Naturally, she tries to help them by confronting her uncle, who dismisses her and kicks her out for her "insolence". Her aim after that is to build her fortune back up again and oust her greedy tyrant of an uncle, all the while helping those around her and elevating their living situation as much as she can. A kind of riches-to-rags-to-riches-again story.
Finally, Aeber, Prince of Thieves, is represented by Hana, the Acrobat. Her dagger skills are borderline unparralleled, and like Throne, she's the party's Dark-magic specialist.. She's a street performer with a traveling troupe... Who's dark past as a former assassin comes back to haunt her. She temporarily leaves her troupe to finally put said past to rest. She also serves as a bit of a dodge-tank in battle, basically having an equivalent to the Merchant's "Sidestep" ability, which is just as abusable as its predecessor.

    my personal rankings:
    8. Agnea: She's cute and fun but her story is the most disconnected from the main plot of the lot and is VERY low stakes and lighthearted, which doesn't make for an impactful story for me. Esepcially considering how inthe previous game the dancer there was very much not about what we would associate with a Dancer character.
    7. Throne: I'm sorry but her story jsut wasn't THAT interesting to me now that I think about it. It had some good moments yes but it does some shit I find weird (like having throne have sympathy for Father despite the terrible shit he did) and it did seem a bit too meandering in places, andthen it ends on a "was it all worth it" ending that just didn't land for me (probaly cause then she just continues journeying in the other stories and main plot so that bittersweet ending feels disingenuous). Also the final reveals in her ending were....weird, like the criminal organisation being lead by a weird immortla guy who wants to die. Like...in the moment you rroll with it but looking back it feels a bit disjointed in my opinion.
    6. Osvald: I do like they don't go the "revenge is pointless" route, because I'm sick to death of anti-revenge stories featruing villain who DESERVE to be revenged against. I think oveerall my issue with osvald is his story feels too short. Also he should've stayed with his daughter and been able to fully clear his name, dammit. Also I jsut don't find Osvald that...interesting of a character. I like his love for his daughter and how he's more an intellectual but other than that he's just a decent character. Oh and his villain is pretty mid too, come to think of it.
    5. Hikari: I LOVE Hikari. He is a great and lovable character who is a man of the people and who strives to do what is right, even when his kingdom is being bad he refuses to jsut go along with it. I eprsonally feel his story is good even if may be a bit of a cliche in other games. My issues with it are how they don't really DO anything with the whole "hikari branded a traitor thing", as none of the people you figth seem to really be motivated by that as a reason to fight you (including the woman who captures you in one chapter, her reasons for betrayign you are completely unrelaed to that contrary to how i would've thougth). THe other flaw in the plot is Ritsu, whose story feels incomplete without him realising that he ahs become the same sort of person as those who murdered his father and all his betrayal has done is ensure that his sister would remain unhappy and that he should've jsut sided with Hikari. As it stands Ritsu's story just ends with hints of regret but without that big realisation he feels half baked as a rival. Otherwise I thin Hikari's story is great, especially when you can find hints to the main plot in it.
    4. Temenos: He's a pretty great character. A priest who nontehless doesn't let faith...blind him and who's willing to see things from other angles, and whose story is ultimately a murder mystery. Of course, I don't think the split paths quite gel tgoetehr that evenly (especially if you go to the town that is secretly full of followers of a nearly erased cult/rival religion outside his story and see no hints of that as anyone else) and the mystery is fairly simple (like, you can call who the big bad is pretty early). However its still a good story despite those hiccups and it HEAVILLY ties to the main story.
    3. PARTITIO. I ADORE Partitio. He's what capitalists THINK they are. His story may not be the most gripping (and he gets some ANNOYING Bosses like that one douchebag) as someof the chapters aren't that involved or interesting, but Partitio himself is jsut such a FUN character. Plus he gets perhaps th coolest final boss of the either stories: A MOTHERFUCKING TRAIN.
    2. OCHETTE.. One of my top faves, Ochette is fun and cute and is a sweet girl, and her mecnahics of capturing monsters to use in battle is fun as hell. And her story is really fun, bing a hunt for three legendary monsters to fight a weird cosmic event (that isn't TOO well explained ultiamtely but you cna infer what its about). Big flaw is how the dark hunter is mentioned throughout her story but you never fight her despite all that build up and instead she's killed offscreen. Otherwise, this is a GREAT story and chaacter.
    1. CASTTI. THE BEST ONE. Castti's story of amnesia may be cliche but its elevated by the fact that she's a badass, axe wielding healer (thus going against the white mage stereotype) who betters people's lives with her kindness and healing skills. She also gets a really cool villain to face off against in her finale.

Your list is similar to my own, just a few changes. For me Partitio is number 1 and Cassti number 2, though it is fair to say i like them both equally, Partitio got the edge for his texan accent and his wildwest style outfit. I also put Oswald at Number 3, because i think he is a great example of a revenge plot done right plus he avoids the usual "Revenge is empty" trope without dismissing it fully.
And Agnea is at the bottom of the list, not because i dislike her, she is absolutely adorable, but simply because i saw the "I want to do this just like my mother" a few times too many, even if Agneas version of this story is propebly the best execution of it.

Funny how you didn't mention Ochette's game breaking glitch. Theres a really fun but also very game breaking glitch to where you can bug out Provoke Beast, her end of story ability. Normally what happens is you fully charge and use Provoke Beasts and can then use 6 beast attacks back to back but there are some limitations. The biggest one is you can't use you're rank 10 beasts aka daddy shark and mama direwolf...unless you use the glitch. Use Provoke Beasts like normal but then active and deactivate your Latent Power. Provoke Beasts will still be active but now its biggest limitation is gone and you can spam 3 sharks to get full charge on all party members plus heals and mp. Like I said, its very op and trivializes much of the game but theres still the challenge of getting the big rank 10 beasts to begin with.

As for my list, I will say putting Hikari at the bottom is my hardest disagreement but have little to no complaints on the rest. And its hard to exclude anyone off the top 5, but by process of elimination. Mine turned out to be like this.
    8) Osvald (By process of elimination. He is an amazing party member and has an awesome story. But the game is designed where physical powerhouses are like objectively better than magical powerhouses. And he's amazing early game, but not the biggest boss killer though an improvement over Cyrus in that regard)
    7) Throne (Far better than Therion and darkest plot in the game like Primrose was. And was my excellent starter; in fact, she might be proof I was hard on Therion on gameplay. But there is still better originality for other party stories and also not quite the powerhouse Hikari or Ochette are)
    6) Agnea (I love this character so much, she is my favorite for theme song, final boss theme, and charming optimism. But she might be the weakest party member since her Latent Power is copy of the Dancer ability and all of her best abilities are things anyone else can learn)
    5) Temenos (Another one of the weaker party members gameplay wise, but has a really awesome final attack when at 1 HP. And one of the best story plots in the game. Crick also gets the award for saddest death in the game. Those Temenos wanting vengeance was something I found divine)
    4) Hikari (He's an absolute badass who is way tougher than Olberic. And I like his very Dimitri like arc and drive to kill his evil brother. Also OP as heck in game)
    3) Ochette (Probably the most OP character in the game between raw power and utility besides one more out there. And yes, she is like the game's Pokemon trainer and can summon boss characters. A huge improvement over H'aanit)
    2) Cassti (The best girl and has a tragic amnesia story done right. But mother is also the best healer in the game can unlimited concoctions makes her blow Alfyn out of water. Not sure I need to say much else, however)
    1) Partitio (The Chuck Norris of the game and simply the most overpowered. Boosting the entire party and making the entire party immune to physical attacks is hecking OP yeah, and he's even crazier than Tressa at abusing that. And there's other stuff he can also do as an Arcanist)

Octopath Traveler 2 is and still is my favorite RPG game ever, if not of all time. I chose Hikari since I’m a fan of a Warrior class (Vengeful Blade) but after that, I choose Castti and she saved me so much from almost every battle, including the final battle even if I’m somewhat underleveled 😅
(And yeah I’m upset too that TGA didn’t nominate the game, especially with the music. Like what the hell!? 😤

Champions of the Continent also does the O-C-T-O-P-A-T-H thing, but it's the boss characters of each chapter. And the order is the way they're challenged chronologically, but backwards. I'll only show the names of the first three because they're the only ones that aren't technically spoilers, but I'll use the chapter names to indicate which bosses I'm talking about.
    O - Bestower of All
    C - Bestower of Fame
    T - Bestower of Power
    O - Bestower of Wealth
    P - Master of All
A - Master of Fame (Auguste)

H - Master of Wealth (Herminia)

Not to be harsh, but there was a noticeable amount of gameplay-related errors/missing info in the script here. Just a few to list:
    - Castti can only attack with wind, light and dark with her Hazardous Concoctions, not all elements like Alfyn could.
    - Mahina/Akala have no interaction with Ochette's stats, so idk why Mahina was recommended on a magic Ochette (Already not a amazing build idea.)
    - Agnea's Summons have an additional effect when she uses a dance skill depending on the NPC she allured. This can be gamechanging and gives her wholly unique support. All Together Now + Leghold is also very redundant, because Windy Refrain does practically the same thing with no latent gauge + BP cost. It imo should've been mentioned in her gameplay sections
Just some things I couldn't let go when I heard it. Good list and video as always.

    • @Apolleh
      @Apolleh 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Agnea was my protag and by mid-to late game windy refrain became my bread and butter for her. My strategy basically *revolved* around windy refrain, pushing back enemy turns while my two breakers (usually Hikari and Ochette) went to town. Then saving Agnea's dances for when the enemy is about to be broken/broken an unable to act next turn to power up someone or the party to unleash hell next turn.

I think the issue for Alfyn in the first game story wise, is yeah that story with the criminal and all the morale interrogation that come with it and Alfyn profession, here's the issue..... it's only in his Chapter 3, and I haven't played Octopath Traveler 1 in like 4 years and that's legit the only chapter of Alfyn I remember clearly, I couldn't tell anything about his other chapter outside of his mentor being a very important NPC and that he has the least impactfull Chapter 4 boss storywise (just an eagle like really just an eagle). So yeah that's the sad thing about Alfyn is Chapter 3 is sincerely great and honnestly totally overshadow the rest of his story.

After seeing 6 character out of 8 to seeing what their trailer was like (i couldn't find the other 2) before getting this game I had many curious questions as well as on the scale of broken to absolute dangerous levels will these 8 new characters topple over the 1st 8 characters of Octopath 1. Out of all the characters, part of me is leaning towards Temenos to pick my start due to how much his trailer made me appreciate a religious man whose main trait is sarcasm. I went with Therion to begin with in my Octopath 1 playthrough. So starting with a priest with a unique trait and skills about is gonna be a treat on my end. Can't wait to do at least a 2nd playthrough to see the alter changes for some. One thing I am glad on this over 1, whenever you see the other party members and play their 1st chapter, it is only them until you fully complete it.

I mean how can you resist the absurdity of your Apothecary screaming "No mercy only pain" x) Also yeah the Winterbloom chapter really hit hard... At your back is just a really good song for that scene
Ochette is just so damn adorable and her final chapter was my 2nd favourite in the game after Agneas (Song of Hope just carries that chapter so hard its incredible). Also Provoke Beasts is fair and balanced and the glitch where you can use a Level 10 summon 6 times with that skill is the only reason I've beaten... that thing... if you know you know
Also yeah no soundtrack nomination for OT2 is a criminal offense in my book x)

My top 3 is easily Throné, Castti and Temenos
Throné is badass, gorgeous, professional, her japanese voice is perfection and her story had me really invested, i also love thieves (Therion was my main in the first game), she is probably my favourite traveler in general
And Disguise is just so much fun
Castti is just too wholesome, she is the mother of the group, she is kind, very pretty and as an Apothecary, very broken
Her story was also very good
Temenos...i did not like Temenos at first but man did this guy grew on me, his personality, his smarts and i love how non-priestly he actually is, his japanese voice is also great (and him and Throné at night is hilarious)
The rest would probably go Ochette, Partitio, Agnea, Hikari, Oswald
I really like Ochette, she is sweet, positive and pretty strong
Partitio is a chad, strong moral compass, very genuine and giving, dapper af and very versatile
Agnea is cute, bubbly, a bit naive and very driven, she is also the queen of normal battles as an Inventor, nothing lives past turn 1
Hikari is...ok, his story is kinda generic but he is a nice guy, very loyal and strong
I would also want him to introduce me to Rai Mei...
Oswald is...a mage, same as Cyrus in the first one, my least favourite one
Not bad but just, he didn't really grab me all that much with anything that's going on with him, i do feel sorry for the guy tho, he had it rough

    @igni7352 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I had many disagreements in the previous video. And this one is no better. Also you should play octopath traveler 2 in japanese voice since it matches the characters personality way better. My list goes like this
    #8 Osvald
Osvald is honestly a pretty boring character and his story is not that interesting. That is because the only thing on his mind throughout the entire story is revenge. "This fire in my heart will never stop burning" is a VERY overused quote and makes it just annoying every single time you hear it. Osvald doesnt really get any character growth and the only thing that happens is that osvald eventually understands what the one true magic is. Now when we get to combat it gets even worse. Scholar was a AOE magic dps in the last game but in this game any kind of magic build has suffered so much that the best builds are all physical. Scholar class has been changed from satisfying AOE DPS to a support class that sometimes can do somewhat okay aoe damage. He doesnt really have any special path actions or anything unique either. Honestly a bland boring character.
    #7 Agnea
Dont get me wrong I loved agnea story and the only story that disappointed me was Osvald. All other were fantastic. I really loved Agnea's personality and her character growth as well as her story all together. Her going to different places and finding more about the world beyond her home is really enjoyable to watch. Another thing that I like is that they gave a passive to her summons so that they aid her when you use dance moves. A really enjoyable character that works well as a support.
    #6 Partitio
Partitio is another story that I liked a lot but that just did not surpass the top of the list. I love his story as well as his character. And I agree with everything said in this video. Just pretend I put everything said in the video here.
    #5 Castti
Input everything you said about Castti. I just want to not spend too much time on these and instead jump on to the ones I disagree with.
    #4 Ochette
Again input everything from the video. You really nailed some of these character explanations
    #3 Temenos
Now we are getting into it. Temenos is practically a MUCH better version of cyrus from the first game. Cyrus was VERY boring and very predictable and had no character development. Temenos is what Cyrus should have been. Temenos is a character who seeks out the truth and wants to bring it to light kind of how like cyrus wanted to share information. Except Temenos already from the start doubts everything and everyone including the gods that he should warship. It gives him a mysterious character and the companion Crick is probably one of the best support characters I have ever seen. The interactions between Crick and Temenos are what makes this story GOLDEN. Crick is the total opposite of Temenos and has full trust in the church and gods. Its also the one story that made me really depressed after what happened in chapter 3 when Crick learned to doubt. He is not that special in combat but the story and character makes up for it.
    #2 Hikari
I absolutely love Hikari. What makes Hikari story so good is the total opposite of Temenos. The story is good don't get me wrong but its the combat that makes it so satisfying. The duel mechanic combined with that Hikari can learn skills and how the latent power is included in the story as the cursed blood of KU just makes it fenominal. Almost makes you want to not use his latent power. The rework of the warrior class also makes it so much better especially the addition of counter attacks. Hikari is such a fun character in combat that it makes every combat moment and every duel in his story satisfying. Now the story is also good in how his best friend betrays him but deep down they want the same thing. I also loved the eagle of ku and his plot twist in the final chapter and how he is the main mastermind behind everything. Also that the final battle has you fighting 3 different bosses is just fenomenal.
    #1 Throne
Throne is the first character i picked up since I really liked Therion in the first game and wanted to use the same stealing gear from later areas trick with Throne. Throne ended up FAR surpassing Therion in almost every single way. The plot twists. The fight for freedom. I also really liked how Throne doesnt want to be a thief and instead wants to be free. She refuses to spill unnecessary blood. Honestly the plot twists and how dark they are are the main factor why I liked her story. I also really like her story bosses and how most of them also are thiefs with the same kind of skills and have instant kill attacks that treally matches how thiefs do their job. Really makes you feel a sence of dread for most throne fights.
