the part where simon was pitching his big camping idea was like watching a dad trying to bond with his teenagers but theyre having none of it.

@@themurrrr I'd have to rewatch, but I'm about 100% sure when they tamed Cooter it was all of them doing it. Thick just happened to be the closest one to Cooter when the tame completed. No salt towards Thick, it was awhile ago, it's a game, and even though they were upset at the time I'm pretty sure a lot of the "drama" was just for content.

Some good animals to have, for a nomadic caravan:
Horse - saddle is a mobile mortar and postal
Argentavis, Thorny Dragon(✔), Castoroides - saddle is a mobile smithy
Phoenix, Magmasaur - inventory is a mobile forge
Yutyranus - can buff allies and fear away large mobs, like the pack of wolves that killed the poor spino
Spino - a strong and versatile mount
Allosaurus - a pack of them would be good. They are fast, manurable and have pack bonuses, making them more ideal than T-rexes, in this situation
Therezinosaur - a jack of all trades gatherer. having a pair that specialize in different gathering specs would be ideal. It's also a good fighter
Deaodon - for healing. With no home base to rest up at, between fights, you'll want some healing care for your pets
And I know you guys don't want to get flying mounts or crystal wyverns right away, but unfortunately, on this map, the majority of the metal nodes are up in high places, like on top of sheer cliffs. Not having a flying mount or a climber really hurts you on Crystal Isles, since you need one to get lots of metal. You wont even be able to explore the floating islands without a flyer. Sadly, you picked a bad map to try this ''ground nomad'' idea.

Flyers do really shine on this map, but I've actually been keeping to ground dinos for the most part and it works pretty well. I ended up getting a megalania which I have used to traverse the more difficult terrain. Haven't found a way to climb up to the floating isles yet though.
Today's Podcast was one of the best in months. To me it came across as a handful of good friends just hanging out and having a good time being with each other.
All their dinos will die because they are all low levels

I usually have a few around just for travel and harvesting.

You guys should tame a Therizinosaur. They’re a heavy hitter and they’re one of the best resource gatherers. If you do, be careful and have a LOT of narcotics or even more narcoberries because their torpor drains fast.
One of my favourite mounts ay, so versatile and powerful. Another great one for Cyrstal Isles is the Baryonyx. Fast with decent health and weight and you can lure predators back to the water and use the spin attack to stun them.

Apparently they weren't able to see the dino levels, due to a bug the first few days they played the map. (at least that;s who I understand it)

If you upset about that then watch someone else play the game your way, and aberration isn’t fun. I lost interest in the map. So many bug, definitely when you defeat the boss it reset your game and unclaim your building and Dino.

I just tamed my first Spino on Crystal Isles! She was a lvl 145 swamp-green-colored Spino when I found her and now she’s already in the 220’s. Her sail had a red-colored tip and due to her green color and finding her in a swampy area, I named her Fire-Swamp! And she is a BEAST!!!! I haven’t even upped any of her damages stats yet, and she’s killing all sorts of shit in less than 5 hits! She’s my current heavy hitter next to my Sarco, 2 Aregentavises, and Griffin! ;3
If you go to the snow you can find aberrant spinos, which look extremely cool and are a little bit better than a normal spino.

Idk what Bobby’s level and stats were, and I know y’all know just how important levels are, but if I may make a few suggestions in leveling-up your animals, preferably those you use as the main fighters. Whenever I tame an animal I know I’m going to use for actual fighting, I focus on leveling up its health first. I know you’re probably thinking that upping the damage would work better, but when you have a heavy-hitter like a Rex or a Spino, you actually don’t need to worry about the damage stat; they’re strong enough already. (Especially if they’re a high level) Upping the health will allow it to live longer during the fight while it’s still dishing out some high enough damage. Now how much health you wanna put into it is up to you, but I usually wait until I reach up to 20,000 in health. You’ll have lots of leftover levels once you reach that point that you’ll be able to still upgrade the damage. Me and my friends follow this procedure when we play and it’s always been more proficient. But again, this is just a suggestion. You’re free to keep leveling up your animals however you want, but I feel this technique works pretty well. Anyway, keep up the great work. Look forward to the next episode. ;D

Simons idea of living off the land would be brilliant for a series. Neebs gaming survival tips! You could even do an ark, 7 days and conan version where you take clips from all 3 and merge them into one video series. Would be amazing and between the three games you could cover most things ( hunting, trapping, building, zombies, dinos, raids etc ) :)

May i suggest, for a scout role, an iguanadon. Many may disagree with me, but i think it's one of the best dinos in the game. It can carry a decent amount of stuff, it can harvest berries quite well, it can jump and it can literally run forever. Doesn't deplete stamina at all when on all fours. Perfect for scouting imo.

Therizinosaurus is a good idea for a fighting animal. They aren't too big so they can't easily get surrounded, they have really high attack power, and can harvest certain materials.
Man... Bobby's death was almost as impactful as Cooters... I really liked Bobby...

Level 30 might be the max? I dunno their settings. But also they dont play logically. No cage taming, no searching for wild, no working the respawn for levels, no kibble, etc. It does upset quite a few people, which creates comments, which keeps the lights on...all good til someone gets emotional 👍👍

That's the problem with turning off hud. Yeah the video looks better but you lose all strategy when you can't see levels or health and stamina. All in all, i love the channel and the banter.

You can turn your paracers into fortified bases. Plant some plant species x in 4 corners with a reservoir on their back and watch the mayhem!
Get at least one of those pigs for healing since they're mostly everywhere you go. you might reach the end of your journey around the island without a single first tamed left.

Its amazing you guys can bring cgi animations to life just by the emotions you guys act out and its tons of fun to watch.
