Tom, could you prepare a video to discuss how to raise L numbered catfish from newly laid eggs? Details on using the Zeiss egg tumbler to raise egg mass to wigglers, what flow to use, what to do if an egg within the egg mass funguses, when to move them to a fry box, care for the wigglers once in the fry box, etc. Thanks and I really enjoy your channel!

I could, but I don’t pull egg bundles unless I have to. All my male plecos currently in the fish room are doing their job. This works great and makes it easy for me. A good male pleco will always do a better job than an egg tumbler. I pull the Fry before they leave the cave. Usually around 6-8 days after hatching.

Congratulations on the new eggs, and thank you for sharing this I've always been from the side of the room that thought it was a good idea to remove infertile eggs asp, so I was glad to hear you were taking them away before you put them into the Tumblr best wishes I hope they all hatch some healthy young fry for you

Hi Tom. Great video as always. Is that the ZET 65 you’re using for the egg tumbler. My LFS has these in Ontario but not sure what size I should be grabbing for my l134.

I counted 42 and 45, depending on which way I counted, and that's not including any hiding underneath, that you can't see, so I'd guess it's really, closer to 50... Nice clutch! Congrats!

Question I understand you want the fry,but are you breeding in faults or weaknesses into your strain by using a male that eats and won’t protect the eggs? Not being critical just want your thoughts life long student of breeding animals.thank you for your videos very enjoyable and knowledgeable!

I guess I'm surprised that the eggs just fall out of the cave and are not stuck on.

Seriously...in an emergency, toss pleco eggs into the back of a HOB filter. The water flow over them is perfect and they will indeed hatch. If you need to keep them out of the tank, leave a filter in. If you don't care if the fry get out into the tank, just don't put a filter on and they will hatch and swim down the waterfall and into the tank. I do it all the time with great success and a great hatch rate. Just a hint for those with a spare HOB filter who don't want to purchase a tumbler. By the way I have never tried this for anything other than pleco eggs. I also use a small tank made for a Beta. Here is a video of what I'm taking about. th-cam.com/video/dVJo62vYYtg/w-d-xo.html

You should move that cowardly pleco to the gold ocellatus tank so he learns what defending the eggs means. “Do you feel lucky punk? Steal my eggs?? Well do ya???
