Hi we need help to create videos
Finaly getting a new desk and led strips. Will be using baking paper to diffuse the leds. Got very inspired by ur desk build, ty so much❤
I've been looking everywhere for cheap solutions and this one is great. Thanks for the post. The end product is friggin epic!
Great video. I did my whole basement with the aluminum channels. But am having issue getting paper to hold in channel especially on vertical runs.
Try a little hot glue should hold the paper just fine. Super glue could melt the paper but it could also work
My favorite rgb guy haha happy new year bro keep making videos
Thanks as always buddy! Appreciate the love!
Thank you
All material in description 👌👌👌u are the best
I love it, btw is that paper?
Just what I was looking for, what size is that aluminum profile?
Wonderful 👍. Quick question how are the lights in sync with what’s on the screen ?
Crazy thing, I was at Home Depot and thought about this idea but didn’t know what to use. The paper was a good idea.
Thanks so much for watching! Great minds think alike lol! It works well! I still prefer the regular diffuser but the paper does work!
Helo my bro, what's this paper? What is paper's material made of? Its important for me...
@@rezamir5396erm... Generally paper is made of wood. Not sure my insurance company would like paper that close to a heat source... Might blame me for the fire ;-)
Very creative bro! Love it!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I appreciate the support! Glad you enjoyed the video!
@Chris Maher man I have so much to learn and my wife claims I love lights wayyy too much but you can never love it too much! Lol thanks for sharing your skills bro.
Breathtaking 🏆
How can you connect several different LED strips in the same effect to just have one controller?
You can connect a WLED ESP32 to 2 seperate strips max, if you meant to extend it, you just solder the 3 pins together and make sure your power is enough.
@@ScratchProNL ok, thx
Thanks Chris.
You are very welcome! Thanks as always buddy!
@@ChrisMaherDIYwhat kind of paper is this?
Hey Chris. Can you plz do a diy of nano lines? I'm sure you can do something awesome. Thanks Chris
Thanks buddy! Its for sure still on my to do list. I'm hoping to get to it sometime this year but will probably have to wait for the weather to get warmer since I dont have a heated garage to work in lol.
@@ChrisMaherDIY me neither bud and im in Philly so it's a bit chilly! So nothing til spring then bud?
Sir have you put white paper or plastic
Which paper did you used for diffusing the lights
Wonderful, could you please show in a video how you control all this? So via PC or mobile phone. Thank you very much
WLED, 1st google link
Thanks so much for watching and great question! Yup, WLED like Serge B mentioned! Here is a video I made going over the easy steps to get that set up! th-cam.com/video/TOEnFKLm9Sw/w-d-xo.html
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thank you for making a video of my comment 👍🏼
Your led skills are from a different level and you can learn a lot
@@xXRussiaboyXx147 You are very welcome! And even though I didn't cover a lot of things, you can also control everything via the pc and you don't have to use the app.
🤩
Is it safe to use paper temperature-wise?
I would still prefer a normal diffuser channel over this but I have used paper in a few other projects and have never had any issues. (not to say something couldn't happen) But I also only have the lights turned on when I'm in the room and I don't really have a need to turn them on super bright (I have the WLED brightness limiter set to about 2000mA and this is more than enough to create the look I'm going for)
Hey is there a way to make a perfect 45 degree angle for the channels ?
Pls what is the name of the material you used to diffuse the light
Lol paper!!
Genius
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This would break in 1 day at my house lol
A thing of beauty nice job! 👏
What is a budget flexi type material I can use if I’m scared to use paper
Next time better to use drywall tape rather than marking on a long paper and cutting it, 😊😊 might save some time
Do you use wled app?
Save like 60-100$? Govee sells the same thing for about 170$ so if you do 2 like this video then maybe 200$ saved. Not a bad trick
Wooow😅
What is the lantern material, rice paper?
Thanks so much for watching! Its just a regular roll of kids craft paper. Nothing special.
@@ChrisMaherDIY well that's even better to offset the cost of the m1 leds
What’s a budget flex type of material if I’m afraid of the paper route?
A led strip manufacturer from China:RGB single color
Good video, irritating music
Thanks so much for watching and glad you liked the video! Yeah, the music is a bit much!
Why did you put paper man thats gonna burn 🔥
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I have used paper before in some other projects and I've never had any issues! I still would prefer to use the regular diffusers though.
why there's a man moaning in the background 😕
Cost Effective and Informative all in one? Nice.
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I appreciate the support!
Garfield Gnarlifactions!!! I always need either must be a better way to defuse the light instead of paying the ridiculous amount of money they wanted for these milky plastic covers and all that bullshit.
Thanks as always buddy!
Very nice! Will probably do this for some smaller projects!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I appreciate the support!
@@ChrisMaherDIYhi, what's the diffuser material?? Bond paper??
Have u tried laminated paper for a more permanent solution? I wonder how well it would diffuse the light
As I begin, travelling down this path, to enhance my surroundings, etc… THIS is the number one question and I’m finding, not only does the material matter, we want smooth diffusion that just blends the led’s, but what LED’s we are using. Aka, if you change brand/number of led’s, etc… what worked for one, may not work for the other. Fun stuff.
@@TheJacklwilliams One rule of thumb that "kind of" works with many diffusing materials is that the led to diffusor distance should be a big as the distance between each LEDs. At least for the common style if the light isn't redirected. With some materials you can get much closer, but for diy projects that rule is a good start.
Thanks so much for watching and I have not tried laminated paper! That is a good idea though! I might have to try it! And yes as others mentioned already, finding a good diffuser material that works for your specific leds and space is often times the hardest part of any project!
You could probably just use the trunking instead of the aluminium? I also think the lights can go through it ?
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Thats a great idea! For sure something worth trying!
That naughty shot of Kodi with diggs build in it 😏
Thanks so much for watching!
what kind of paper is this?
Your channel. Awesome. Well made. Thank you very helpful. My only go to channel.
That aluminum channel from home depot is way over priced. For $5 more you can get 5x as many real aluminum Chanel plus with the right clips and diffuser.
Where? But Also I mostly need a cheap diffuser film. I used cheap Cable raceways for the channels
name for music plis
Very creative!
Thanks so much!
@@ChrisMaherDIY no problem. Your diy projects are very aesthetic. Great stuff 👍🏽
🎉🎉🎉Perfect...U make my project so easier ...Thanks for support us the kind man.❤ Plz do video on: How to connect 4 or more WS2812B led strips with power supply and T8000AC Led pixel controller or T300k Led pixel controller. If u do that I will very much greatful to u. ♥ Love you and always with u.❤
he's probably already done one like that.if not him, then definitely someone else on TH-cam would have something up. there's nothing unique about what you're asking. figure it out, or hire a professional. or better yet, donate to his patreon and make your request there.
why would he make a video specifically for you when all your offering is your sincere "thanks"..like come on!
I wish there was something better than paper for the diffuser
What kind of paper is it
Smart
