In regards to #7 the dentist was awarded the metal of honor for protecting the fellow soldiers while giving his life. This was more of a noble act than an act of revenge

It is honorable, but he was also avenging his fallen comrades.
They were under attack and he fought to the death, so it was part self defense part revenge part adrenaline fueled slaughter.
In the military, if you're under attack, shooting back is reasonable.
When the people killed the mad swordsman with rocks, was I the only one who thought of this as a messed up version of rock, paper, scissors?

I remember hearing that in order to qualify for that level of heroism you either have to be one of those people that love your unit like your own family, or be a complete psycho.

It's not "overkill". He was defending the wounded from enemy coming through the lines. What was he going to do, offer to give them free dental care so they'd stop killing the wounded?
I'd say #7 was completely justified. He was protecting what was basically an aid station. Think about how many injured soldiers were saved by his actions.

Benjamin was awesome, he died in defense of his team. If I have a son, I am naming him Benjamin. And when he complains about his name, I will tell him about his namesake. I can only hope that some of the badass will rub off onto him.

Exactly. Now, had he escaped, then later walked into a camp filled with wounded Japanese soldiers and slaughtered THEM, that would be an act of revenge that went too far.
This? This was a selfless act of heroism, laying down his life to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.

I wouldn't call 7 overkill, if he stopped shooting he would have been killed and so would as many people around him as possible, because he kept shooting people were able to get away, 98 soldiers dead says they weren't going to be letting people get out alive.

Hey Matthew, I just wanted to say that I really respect you and your work. You give us these interesting and informative top 10 videos, but you're not like other top 10 channels (In a good way). You actually show us your face, for one, instead of just hiding behind a screen playing video games and simply talking about the video topic while doing something else. It seems like a lot of other top 10 channels do that, and I find it pretty annoying. And it seems like those other channels aren't as enthusiastic and as happy to tell us these interesting facts as you are everyday. Thank you for that and keep doing what you're doing.❤️❤️

It is actually immensely disrespectful to the man as well. He did it to save his follow soldiers and the wounded, there wasn't vengeance in it just duty to protect. Matt made it seem like it being revenge and he shouldn't have killed them all. Think they would have stopped? They were already going after the wounded, they would have slaughtered them all if they could have but alas a hero was born that day, who is now having his heroic acts defamed as something bad or uncalled for. Overkill.

Jess Hammond its not like i do not aknowledge them,but generally deaths of animals are presevered as something we react stronger to,especially in media-they did nothing,and can never be ruled as evil and the like,as they act on pure instinct and are not to blame for the actions of their owners/people around them;thats why i feel so bad for them anyway-they were not at fault .the woman herself did nothing that would ever warrant such an action from her ex of course,but i thought that the passing of them was really sad anyway ^^;

dabby dabby he actually just received a medal in the 2000s. There was a rule of war that no medics can use a weapon on a battlefield in attacking. In which it was overturned since he was defending the encampment and finally award the medal.
