Few things: if the shifting become harder, service the one way bearing in the primary.
-You can get it flashed tuned with a dynojet PV3 and a 3rd party tune file from motorsports addicts (MSA) this will do many things like adjusting AFRs, rad temp kick on, remove limiters etc. It will make it run much cooler (they are very lean from factory) and will also give you a few extra ponies to the wheels.
-I change oils in diffs, gearbox, engine every 50hrs. You don’t need special/fancy oil. Rotella T6 5W40 is what use for engine and as for diffs and gearbox, I use the cheapest gear oils I can find and does very very well. Stick with OEM filter and pick up crushwashers for cheap at hardware stores.
-keep an eye on the rear diff oil, the factory pinion/axle seals are junk and will leak water into your diff, so if the rear diff oil is milky after after one ride after playing in mud/water you’ll know. Also, you should fill the diff oil level t’il it start slowly coming out of the fill hole.
-I work at a shop where we rebuild many of these rear diffs and it’s usually from lack of maintenance or not enough oil.
-if sure you know but maintenance is key to longevity. Grease zerks on suspension, sway bars, and rear driveshaft u-joints after 1 or 2 rides. This will push the water out of the bushings/bearings and avoid replacing parts prematurely.
    - I always do post ride inspections after washing it. These can-ams can take the punishment better than most brands.
I serviced many Gen1 and Gen2 can-ams that are high mileage that needed nothing more than oil change, belt replacement and clutch cleaning. The most common parts to wear out are; wheel bearings, front A-arm bushings, rear diff seals, rear drive shaft U-joints. But depending how you maintain your unit, those parts can last for 1000miles or can last 20,000miles or more. People say Hondas are the most reliable but a Honda would never stand up to the same punishment an outlander takes.

This is some very good info to add, I plan to do the tune with exhaust but figured I’ll wait until the warranty runs out. From what I have seen the can and really only get a lot of complaints on rear differential failure. I’m going to change the fluids in my diffs before I take it out again since it’s been in a lot of water, I appreciate that information! I’m sure others can use it as well!

@@udfhgdfughghjghjYes, he's sure. It's common knowledge kid. It's not the shifting while you're riding. It's a shifting from park to high or low or reverse or vice versa. That's where the whole term Can-Am hump came from. Might want to educate yourself kid

Nice video. Thanks. I got a 2023 1000R. XT. Same pros as you listed. One major con. While I was out on a ride. I shut it off and it would not restart. It would crank over but no start. Towed it home. Called my dealer. Said check the fuel pump fuse. That was ok. Quite random. I took off the gas filler cap and put it back on. Then it started. ..!! 🤯🤔and is still running good. Maybe a vent issue ..??

HaHaHa, As a person who has cut my hands to death on those plastic's, I sympathize, I took a file to mine, no prob...That shifting is just that way, some days its better than others but never perfect, that gas mileage though is NOT normal, I've limped to the truck with a single bar left at 154 kms then only put not quite 3 gallons in it, there's still good fuel when they look out...I've put 13000kms on my two Can-Ams so far and the more you ride them the more you love them, Enjoy...Good video...

There's definitely no way he's putting 4 gallons in if he's filling it up with two bars left. It's a 5.4 gallon tank. It has a 0.7 reserve capacity that you reach when your fuel gauge is on its last notch flashing. That means 4.7 gallons is your amount showing on a full gauge. With two bars left that's approximately quarter of a tank meaning he can only fit around 3 gallons in the tank. There's no way his math is adding up even if you hold this bike wot all the time in sport mode it's not going to consume the amount of fuel that he's claiming that he's used

Sharp edges everywhere, back of the headlights and tail lights are terrible, just poor mold making by the manufacturer. I like mine but there are things that could be improved to make it better.
