The work mode.........is lame. Classic. Hate the key, just not needed. Put a code in the display to lock in a mode, no need for another thing to break. Sharp edges everywhere, back of the headlights and tail lights are terrible, just poor mold making by the manufacturer. I like mine but there are things that could be improved to make it better. Let them wash one once and things would improve.
I notice you work on a lot of rangers … I have a 2005 ranger 500 runs and drives … only problem is that if you press the brake or turn on the lights it kills the ranger … then I have to work the key back and forth till I get the neutral lights back on … I have to jump the solenoid… like I said runs great just can’t turn anything on… if you want to use the lights you have turn them on then start the ranger … maybe you could help ?

Kinda disappointing the canam outlander 570s top speed is 74mph
Im sure with out the limitations of the computer it would be much faster. The 850 has a bit more torque than the 570 as well.
love the review, had almost all the same gripes from the box not sealing, too the cleaning. even went as far as getting a foam cannon. its still never clean. gota 23 same color ( even got the same top speed so far :P ) sure youve pushed yours by now, hope to push mine soon
I have pushed it well enough that its now in for warranty work 😂 I have been meaning to try the " booty juice" in a foam cannon, and using sc1 when im done to make it easy to clean.
Aight
🤘
Do you ever try and get deals through copart or similar sites
I did at one point, there are SO MANY FEES. Like they have a fee for everything making it almost double the cost of what ever you bid on. th-cam.com/video/S4Rhw9F4IhE/w-d-xo.html Here is a link to a video where i cover some of the auction stuff that i buy.
What impressed me was how quickly the thing gets up to 50MPH-60MPH. Dang! I remember a Kawasaki KLT250 I had that sounded like it was going to blow up at 30 MPH. 😂
Thats no joke, iu tried to find a way to add a timer to the video to show how quick it got to 60. The 60-77 wasnt as quick but still fast none the less. That KLT250 would probably outlive this modern quad 😂
Gotta drill em out and use the 10 mm bolts like honda uses. The 8mm are too small to hold up with the torque from the kawisaki kfx450r. They all do this eventually. I'd buy me a case saver too while I'm at it
Ill keep that in mind on the next one, this quad is long gone.
Drain old fuel from tank and carb new plug away u go TDC then nice big kick its a honda nuke proof
Nice video. Thanks. I got a 2023 1000R. XT. Same pros as you listed. One major con. While I was out on a ride. I shut it off and it would not restart. It would crank over but no start. Towed it home. Called my dealer. Said check the fuel pump fuse. That was ok. Quite random. I took off the gas filler cap and put it back on. Then it started. ..!! 🤯🤔and is still running good. Maybe a vent issue ..??
I have read a few things about vent issues but thought it was 22 and prior. The things i seen mention was not to fill it all the way up or it clogs the vent although i havent had any of these issues personally.
850 is a perfect size for this type of ATV.
Yes the 850 gets it done.
LOVE THE LTZ400 Will miss it
Me too but it gives an excuse to buy something different later 😂 that may be the longest I have owned a machine.
Noo bro 😢
how easily does the driveshaft come out?
If it has 30 years of rust it will be tough, other wise they usually slide out after the differential is pulled.
Taking that ride one last time don’t really hit the spot anymore when growing the business is involved, I’ve found that to be true for myself
A buddy of mine bought it but before he got here to pick it up I whipped it a bit. It was fun but I think the outlander will fill my void. The business can buy another later.
Bro, I love these 4-wheelers. Every time that I finish assembling one, I make sure to drift it out of the build shop😂 That governor really holds these bikes back, I’ve seen one of these do 93mph ungoverned. I like the 850 over the 1000 because it’s a short-frame. BTW, the governor does tell the ECM to restrict power at a certain speed. It can definitely be removed though.
I have now broken it outside of the factory warranty, if they don’t fix it under the aftermarket warranty I’ll be ready to tune it. 😂 it sounds like the clutches have grenaded.
@@TheATVHustle Hey, a tuned Outlander will forever make for a good time😄
@@TheATVHustlewhat caused your clutch problems?
@@justsendit9852 I’m not 100% sure
I’ve realized that a Polaris ATV will never fully be understood. They like to be difficult for no reason at all😂
The sxs are way better to work on imo
Once you start riding a powerful 4x4 quad it's hard to go back to a sport quad.
That’s no joke, I have rode 500s and 700s and they didn’t compare to my 850.
I ride my ltz 90% more than my 850 outlander I’ll take my sport all day
I had this happen to me. Such a dumb design. There’s no way to tell when it goes until you go to change your oil
Then what happens when you change oil how can you tell your oil pump is not working?
I agree, seems like a bad spot to cut costs.
Would you recommend this machine for someone (me)who would just use it on the weekends on grass or small streams and hills here in the Dallas area ? Or it’s too much of a beast for the use I want it for ?
@@eliseog7216 being from the dfw area I don’t know where you would get A chance to open this up. If you’re just putting around on it, this is probably a waste of money and would be better to go with something a smaller bore. But if you might plan to take it out of the metroplex in the future to some where like river run atv park then it would be great. It all really depends on your riding style as well.
@@TheATVHustle yeah I would like to travel with it but want something reliable . Do you think this would be better fit for the occasional river run and ranch use over an xmr or dps?
@@eliseog7216 I’d only want an xmr if I was going deep often in mud or water. The dps is a package below the xt, so with an xt you get everything the dps has.

As you were going over the unit, I saw a lot of similarities to Polaris. I would definitely go the cheaper route when it came to part sourcing; the similarities are just too obvious to ignore lol
If it makes it back here from the auction then i will be rebuilding it back. Its more of a project than i wanted to begin with but i bought it anyway. Hopefully it sells.
Any update on how the new top end worked out in the long run? Any issues? I’m about to buy the same kit
Not that I know of but I sold the 420.
Hello, excellent video, I just want to ask you one thing. I had never had an ATV and I bought one, it is the same model, I just feel that it gets very hot where the engine is, in the foot area. It is normal?
For these, yes. The only solution is to tune it to run more fuel. These are lean from the factory. I just rode mine this past weekend for the first time this summer and it really hot on my leg.
Congrats!

Man, to hear that RZR start up was insane! Working in a motorcycle dealership, I’ve seen some dust buckets come back from the dead, but man this RZR surprised me quite a bit. As a side note, as you may know from my previous comments I am beginning my journey in buying, fixing, and flipping off-road vehicles/water-crafts/2-3 wheel street vehicles, etc. I was wondering if you had any tips on where I should start business wise? My ultimate goal is to own a shop where I buy machines off marketplace, Craigslist maybe, auctions, and things like that; pretty much exactly what you do. I’m hoping to be able to get something going where I can quit my 9-5 and work for myself while gaining my freedom back. I’m really tired of this job, so I’m hungry to get this going for myself. I’m just lost right now because nobody around me does this type of stuff. Even my parents don’t understand what I’m trying to do; it’s tough not having someone to mentor me or take me under their wing while I try to figure this stuff out. I’m confused as to if I should be more focused on getting all of my business stuff set up than trying to find more projects to potentially buy, fix, and sale for a profit (which is tough within itself). Like, would I have a better chance of finding a deal through the auction if I were to get a dealer’s license? I don’t have much capital to start with, so should that be the main focus from the start? Should I solely focus on parting out what I can to create the capital for this business venture as apposed to trying to fix stuff and learn in the process? It’s so many questions lol. My main thing is finding something that could bring in income while I try to get this business rolling. I don’t get paid well at my current job, so I try to put aside as much as I can but that’s not always easy. Would you suggest to just keep saving what I can, buy projects as they appear that I can get for a good deal and make a good profit on, and keep scaling as time goes on to later in the future deal with starting a full-on business? - OR - Should I be more focused on the business side. Like getting my dealer’s license (which in return would give me dealer-only auction access where I could buy the machines wholesale), establish a name, someday secure a shop to operate out of, and the other legal things? I hope that I don’t ask too many questions in your comment section; I really don’t have anyone that is doing this business model around me that I can talk to and ask. Even the technicians that I know aren’t willing to help me either because they kinda dabble in flipping or they aren’t set up as a legitimized business but they’re keeping the cash flowing, if you know where I’m coming from lol.
I know right, this is probably the biggest project I have taken on so far aside from the ranger 800 earlier this year that I did a harness and front diff plus some other small things. It’s probably going to take a few comments to answer all your questions since I can’t see it all. I failed 3 years of high school English so I’ll do my best to make sense 😂
So it sounds like you’re exactly in the same spot. I was when I started. I was very hesitant to actually get out and start spend a bunch of time looking at street bikes online for personal use and started to notice that there was a lot of good deals on there and I could make money on them. Then I ran across. It was a Kawasaki zephyr or something like that. I bought it for $100 and still sold it for 500. And just kind of kept doing the same thing from there. I had no idea of anything about business. I thought getting the auction license was going to do real big and make me grow so fast and then when I finally got one and I could see what the stuff actually sold at those auctions it was so much money. It wasn’t even worthwhile. There sites out there that are free that you may end up paying a buyers premium on the item like hibid.com proxybid.com equipmentfacts.com that you can buy right now from but honestly, I never find the best deals at auction. It’s rare.
As far as business licensing, and all of that goes, it’s going to be very dependent on your state. Down where I am passport vehicles like ATVs side-by-side and stuff like that didn’t even used to be titled where I think states like California if you don’t have a title it’s useless. I’m not a lawyer or anything like that so I can’t really give you a whole Lotta insight there.
When I first quit my job the first time to go full-time doing this (I failed and had to go back due to poor money management) I was at a family gathering and my uncle just kinda calls me out and he’s like so I heard you quit your job real loud in front of everybody before anyone knew I quit. Most of the people in my family have always been like why don’t you just go back and get a day job? I Don’t listen to nobody and that’s pretty much how it has to be since people who are 9 to 5 guys will always think it’s better to have a J O B. I would really suggest listening to the MFCEO podcast from Andy Frisella it has helped me with that and a whole Lotta other stuff.
The best way to put it is just start whether you go out and buy $100 bike sell some parts off of it make five or $600 and then keep reinvesting that into your business and yourself. That’s pretty much what I did. Just $100 bill. I would be a lot further along if I had better money management skills, and I didn’t make so many mistakes along the way outside of the actual business.
Those lights are lit!
It definitely makes working easier!
That shit has 600+ hours on it. And has never been maintained

Man, I’ve been enjoying binge watching this ‘Shop Vlog’ series. This past week was pretty cool. I binged watched the first 5 EPs of the series Sunday, got inspired to get my dirt bike that I didn’t want anymore running again so I could sell it, got said dirt bike running again on that Monday, and sold it that Tuesday. I was really inspired when you told me how you started out. I too have begun trying to make this dream a reality on my parents’ ‘slab of concrete patio’ I haven’t been able to find any bikes under $1,000 to get for the cheap so I can fix it up and make a profit, but I’m not giving up hope. This is only the beginning and I see what is possible through hard-work and consistency as I watch your videos. I hope to be able to do this at a similar scale as you someday. For now, I’m just going to keep trying and sharpen my skills while enjoying the series!
It’s not been easy if I make it look that way, just gotta keep going and keep buying and fixing. We moved shops over the last week so I didn’t drop a vlog but the next one should be up in the next few days as well as the kx250 hopefully running by the end of this coming week. Sometimes there is nothing to buy, don’t get desperate and pay too much. This was something I learned the hard way, I haven’t found anything worth buying in a while now so I have to look further out or wait. It really is a work with what you got that can turn into something cool. This next vlog will show how the new shop turned out and I sometimes forget how I started working on a slab at my mom’s house. Keep your head up and keep moving!
