I got my natural finish version the week of release. I immediately took it over to my luthier who installed a unbleached bone saddle and ebony slotless pins increasing the break angles as well. Polished up the frets and treated the fretboard. The action is now in league with a quality electric guitar. I can play it for hours with no finger pain. The sustain is simply sublime as is the balance of tone. Recorded into my Apollo Twin system is stunning. The effects are simply addictive and you simply can't put it down. I've had 9 top Martin's and 3 Taylor's over the 60 years I've been playing and NONE were in this league without effects. The effects simply take it to another world. I have a LL-TA that is no slouch. But this is just another level.
What an incredible guitar and demonstration. Explained and demonstrates very well. I always seem to pick up a Yamaha when I visit GC but don't presently own one. I know what my next guitar is going to be. Thank you
Love this idea. Even my wife wants me to buy one. Few questions... What if the app stops working... Would the on-board effects still function? Would it have limited functionality? How serviceable is the rechargeable battery?
I'm not an official Yamaha spokesperson, but have done some research. My understanding is that the app allows customization of the effects beyond just basics like volume. So if the app stops working, you'd lose the ability to tweak effects. For the battery, I believe it's replaceable but requires minor disassembly and only officially recommended to be done by a technician. My bet is that if you're handy with a soldering iron you could likely replace the battery without too much money, otherwise you'd have to spend a couple hundred on getting someone else to do it for you.
These guitars are for professional/top end players I would think; I'm mid range at best, or an intermediate player if you like. Too gimmicky for someone like me, but I do like the looper function, something I would like to get soon in order to advance.
That looper! I ordered one when I actually found one in stock. That is the problem, they are out of stock in the whole Europe! I needed to ordered it from Italy, living in Sweden... They have shipped it, but I haven't recieved it yet. I'm so excited to get it, just hope it lives up to what it kind of promises! I think it does...
I'd like one myself but there's one big problem, where do you get the electronic part's when they fail? Do a google search, they're nowhere to be found.
I love Yamaha. They’re my preferred brand for instruments. But… I can’t get on board with ANY hardware that requires an app to get into a deeper dive. Including THR amps and now this. Where will it be in 20 years? The guitar will still exist but I HIGHLY doubt support for the app will be. I’ll stick to the old fashioned ways. External everything.
@@Squid-Lips I don’t mind if it’s there… but ALL of the controls must also exist on the hardware as well. App driven hardware is such a cheap lazy shortcut.
Seems like a a great alternative to computer screens and clunky pedal boards and amps, so for portability and practice is great. Not sure how fast this technology will last (compatibility) battery life, support for the app. Charging cable should be usb c. I like it and would consider, but the price vs uncertain longevity is a question mark.I played the other transaccoustic and I really liked it.
I find my self playing acoustic more these days and to have the looper to practice and to write without plugging into my loop station and amp.. sign me up.
I am very intrigued by the possibility of using it in live performances. Is there a limit to the duration of the loop? I mean, can I record an entire song with accompaniment, then start the loop and play another guitar part? Thanks! Roberto
Totally agree with you. The previous versions had easily accessible batteries and batteries that you can find anywhere. This is a backwards step for the TransAcoustic range.
I am interested in this guitar plus I really like Yamaha guitars. I understand this series uses two actuators. But with previous self-amplified guitars like this (Yamaha, Enya, Lâg, etc) the sound is not very loud (attenuated). So does having a second transducer increase the sound?
I had a Hyvibe acoustic that had same features a couple years ago.. Would like to play this one at a music store, and see if the guitar itself plays better than the Hyvibe did. Guess I’ll be making a trip to the city, once I know they have these in stock.
Ya I know I bought the folk size in 2021 and I bought another full size cutaway 3 months ago rrrrrrrrrrr I would have obviously bought this instead oh well
excellent demo Brandon!...but who can afford this $1600 acoustic?...not MOST of the players watching this demo...cool effects, sounds great without them too...but I'll never afford to own one...thanks Yamaha...I'll have to wait for a decent used one at half (or less!) the price...

This product receives my HIGHEST stamp of approval!
Best review of this I’ve seen! Only one who has plugged it in so we could hear how it sounds plugged in! Thank you!
Excellent demonstration Brandon. Yamaha is nailing it with their guitar lineup.
Great guitar and wonderful playing , Brandon! Great seeing you and hearing you play again!! From a long time NRG fan!
Looping without plugging in???
THE FUTURE IS NOW OLD MAN 🤩🤩
Stellar guitar, and stellar presentation of it!
Surprised that it doesn’t charge with USB C but rather a very short one of a kind charging cable
Best explanation of the electronics of all the videos thankyou !! so cool
The built-in looper is a gamechnger #methinks
I love my old solid wood TA, such a great instrument. Sorry for the smell as I now have G.A.S.
This looks really really cool!
Transacoustic for the win always.
Great playing and demo!

@@aaronk3670 Much appreciated!
This guitar is amazing
Awesome, i definitely want one!
I really want this in a concert body.... actually just give me the AC3R with TA tech and I'd be a happy camper.
That would be awesome!
Will the loop tech pick up thumping on the body of the guitar? Nevermind, 13:40, Awesome!!!!!
The fade out is amazing
Awesome, hope the electronics last
I definitely want one 🔥

Buying this for sure 🙌

@@ZeroFiveEightFour Then you still have a very nice acoustic guitar nbd.
I'll not, because I won't be buying one.
I've contacted Yamaha about it and I'm not happy with their response.
damn I want one in the burst omg beautiful

External everything.
With a guitar like this we‘ll need an „old“ backup phone with the current software state.
I also never like the external app configs.
As soon as I see any music gear with iPhone nonsense I walk away. Only a few OS’s or models from obsolescence.
@@Squid-Lips I don’t mind if it’s there… but ALL of the controls must also exist on the hardware as well. App driven hardware is such a cheap lazy shortcut.
I totally agree.
Yamaha THR on of my favorite amps. Really makes playing simple. Much less hassle than my Orange, Fender, Marshall tube amps. Different purpose
Well... this has actuated my wood. 😉
Hi. I'm amazed by the possibilities of this acoustic. One question, does it have equalization?
Wow.. outstanding

Can’t wait ordered one the other day 2240.00$ most expensive guitar I’ve bought
VERY nice, ONE QUESTION DOES IT COME IN LEFT HAND MODEL
How long can you record for? Can the battery be replaced if it stop charging properly one day? Are other corpus sizes planned? Thank you!
Does the solid wood top have the A.R.E treatment? Can’t see anywhere that it does. Would be good to know
Built in battery is its major flaw.
How easy and what cost to replace it when it stops taking a charge???

Essaye les guitares Kepma tu sera étonné. Leurs système est le plus puissant et les guitares sont juste magnifique,très proche de Taylor.
I had a Hyvibe acoustic that had same features a couple years ago.. Would like to play this one at a music store, and see if the guitar itself plays better than the Hyvibe did. Guess I’ll be making a trip to the city, once I know they have these in stock.
Thank you - I have been checking them out - a little pricey here in Canada
Can’t get em … I just ordered one from long and mcquade, might be a few months
How do they play? Strings look like elixer. Need to try one for sure.
Is there a standalone version of just the electronics on this guitar? I just want these features in a single, small pedal
Love looper idea
Awesome
Hi Brandon, what strings are you using?
I like this one
I'm perturbed, it's not been that long since I purchased my FGTA.
Me too

Is there any way to control the app with a Bluetooth external pedal to use the looper?
I want one! Any ex-demo models you need to move on to a grateful Yamaha-fan? 😂
👏👏👏
this is perfect for songwriters
How long can you loop it? Timewise?
I've always wondered why you can't just use blue tooth to Bluetooth ur guitar straight to a Bluetooth speaker
Help. Where is the left hand model?
**ahem** lefty **ahem** Comon Yamaha, you can do it!
I don t like the dry sound its a bit thin but the features are nice
I think its the way it is miced here
@@iansnyder274 maybe maybe not
How much is this one
HOW LONG can I LOOP???? Seconds? Minutes?? How LONG?????
I want to know if anyone has been able to test a bluetooth mic through this for the ultimate busking rig. Anyone?
this man's hair is killer.
Why do you have to comment on his air 🤔🤔
@@ghost1591-z4n need a hair tutorial my guy
Wow
how long does the battery run?
5.5hrs
I'd like to know what the half-life of the lithium-ion battery inside it is
What is the nut width?
1 3/4
Ahhhhh I just got a LL-TA ....
Record loop time? NOT play time... NOT layers... RECORD TIME???
the feature and the electronics of this guitar is very nice but i still prefer any taylor guitar
