A police officer can't entice you to commit a crime that you wouldn't have otherwise committed. That's called entrapment. If you're already dealing drugs, then a cop can come up to you and ask to buy some, because you were already in the business of selling them. But if you're a random person on the street and a cop comes up to you and says "hey, do you want to make some quick cash selling drugs for me", that would be entrapment.
Buying drugs is logically entrapment even if it's not by law. Only if the seller itself asks "do you want..." etc. it's legit crime. Same goes for bait cars.
Austin Kilgore bait cars are “enticing” because they’re very nice cars placed in areas where lots of cars already get stolen. Breaking Bad is one of the best shows ever... it's similar to other great crime dramas like The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy or Ray Donovan in that the main character has family drama to deal with + some exciting, dangerous criminal undertaking, which makes it very compelling to watch. Plus, Breaking Bad makes great use of dramatic irony (like the secrets Walt is keeping from his family) as well as great character and character pairings with lots of conflict (Walt and Jesse are so entertaining together because they are so different)... so much more good stuff to come 💙♾🚛
Thank you for your hard work Steven and Nikki for dishing out these BB reactions it’s definitely showing out how much you put out to us viewers. You guys are amazing, keep it up can’t wait for more BB!
This is great. Ive already seen this episode dozens of times, but watching it for the first time is amazing....The writing in this episode just explodes off the script, and I absolutely loved Saul's office. The satire is brilliant, and evokes immediate giggles just by the set up...This is a really funny episode... And btw, James Edward Killkelly- there really are people like that who will take the fall and go to prison for people because they've been "in and out" so long that they've established their own business while in there (it may be smuggling cigarettes, drugs, or other things in there to the others) and have a reputation so it's like second nature to them...However, would have never known about it until I saw this show and episode...
Saul is played by Bob Odenkirk who used to do a sketch comedy show (Mr Show) with David Cross and a bunch of other comedians. He's good at being funny, partly because he has a comedy background.
27:50 steven you're talking about entrapment. That would be like if badger (working as a cop) went up to some random stranger and tried to sell them drugs, and the stranger bought those drugs. The cops can't arrest that guy, because he wouldn't have bought any drugs if the cops weren't there. The situation on the show is not entrapment because that guy would've tried to buy drugs from badger whether the cops were there or not.
Cops can initiate drug deals as the buyer all they want. What they can't do is pose as a seller and talk people who weren't looking for drugs into buying from them. That's entrapment. In any case, they can lie about pretty much anything including being a cop. The only place they're required to tell the truth is in court.
Bob Odenkirk is best known for the amazing HBO sketch series Mr. Show, in which he and David Cross were the main stars. In more recent years he's been branching out into more dramatic roles like this which typically still have a hefty dose of comedy attached. Also worth checking out is Spielberg's The Post, where he plays the guy who delivered the Pentagon Papers.
I've found my self addicted to your reactions. keep em coming! I cannot wait till you get deeper into the character development of each of Gilligans brain children. By far the best part of this series Is the dichotomy and personality of each of these characters.
I think the rule you meant was that the police can't have undercover guys that tell dealers to make a deal and then arrest that person for said deal. That was a problem in the past (dealt with for example in the 21 Jump Street Musical), based on true cases where a female undercover cop would flirt with high school boys and tell them to get her some marihuana, the boys then did so, but not because they were dealers but because a girl they liked asked them to get it for them. Those kids were then busted for selling drugs on school property.
What Steven's referring to at the end is called entrapment, and it does exist as a legal defense. Basically, the cop puts the perp into a situation where they're tricked or forced into committing a crime, just to guarantee the prosecution. It's typically done through harassment, fraud, threats, or flattery. What happened with Badger doesn't qualify, as all that was done there was the cop offering the opportunity for Badger to commit the crime (and a judge will expect a person to resist any ordinary temptation like that). The fact that he lied about being a cop doesn't matter (that whole "they aren't allowed to lie" thing is a pipe-dream). If the cop had kept coming back day after day after day begging him to sell until Badger finally broke down, or threatened to beat him senseless if he didn't sell, or something along those lines, that would be entrapment. 🔗💼💙
@@Dularr It was for distribution, not possession. The fact that he completed a sale sticks him with the distribution charge. They wouldn't be able to do anything to him for possession without the sale, since he didn't have the drugs on his person to begin with, and furthermore they didn't have probable cause to search him without the sale. The sale was the only criminal act the cops observed, so that was what the charge would be for...plus distribution charge always trumps simple possession charge, since it's a higher level of crime (class D felony vs class E felony, I think...it's been a while since I had to look that one up) and carries a higher penalty, so typically cops (and nearly always prosecutors) will drop the lower charge to focus on the higher charge.

The term you're trying to think of Steven at 27:32 is entrapment (the action of tricking someone into committing a crime in order to secure their prosecution)
"Entrapment" is where the police is not allowed to initiate the crime. But there are so many allowances that its a mute law. Remember when Jesse was "Cap'n Cook?" And Jesse didnt get busted cause he was next door? Then the two guys that Walt and Jesse killed was Jesses old partner? Who we learn was a snitch? And now we learn that "Its all good man", I mean Saul Goodman, was his attorney. This show is so great at connecting the dots! Handcuffs, blue hearts, breif case.
This came up in my recommendations the other day and I had to subscribe! I'm all caught up with your BrBa videos now and can't wait to see your reactions to all the other crazy stuff that happens. Ah, good old Slippin’ Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman. Y’all are caught up on BCS and BB so I can comment on how far Jimmy has come into the criminal underworld. Him strong arming Walt was peanuts to him after dealing with Lalo Salamanca’s shit. When Saul said “Francesca, you’re killing me with that booty.” My heart broke thinking of Kim.
I always found it a little unnerving that Walt said “Ever since my diagnosis, I sleep just fine.” Assuming he was telling the truth, that means that he slept better after murdering Emilio and Krazy-8 than he did in his pre-crime life; that the relief of living without fear and the joy of feeling powerful outweighed the guilt of taking human lives, even this early on 😬
I certainly have seen people who commit petty crimes in order to be arrested and have three hots and a cot. Happens a lot when it gets cold in the winter.
There are rules regarding entrapment. Entrapment is not allowed for any kind of crime. Whether an arrest involves entrapment is usually a matter decided by the court or previous court rulings.
After 6 seasons of Better Call Saul, whenever he pops up in Breaking Bad, I no longer see a magic man wagging his tongue making legal problems go away - but a pumped-up, colorful yet sad, shadowed existence of the man once known as Jimmy McGill, who stood up for elderly people, who had a wife who loved and supported him, and a legal career that would have gone very differently.
It wasn't a threat. Saul's reputation goes in the shitter if people find out he's a rat. Saul's just very confident that he knows the right people to hook Walt up with. You'll see. Saul's connected, yo!

"You've taken your first step into a larger world"
Obi Wan? Is that you?
"It was Ignacio, he's the one!"
MAN
You will not be disappointed after Breaking Bad and then watching Better Call Saul next! I guaran-damn-tee it!
I’m French and I watch all your videos. I love your reactions you are awesome. Thanks
16:39 Yeah, that office is golden yo, church, lol
Those scenes were hilarious! I loved when the two vans pulled up both times.
Better call Saul! 💙 💼 🔗
Oh, you two are gonna LOVE Saul!! Possibly the best character of the show!
You two are such a good couple, you seem so right for each other. Love your reactions by the way ❤️
Thank you Adam!!!!
Nikki & Steven React My pleasure, you two are a delight!
I'm morally outraged that there are 9 down votes for video.
What's funny is that a bunch of plotlines that were scrapped for breaking bad had an inside joke around them from the writers where they would sarcastically say "we'll save that idea for the Saul Goodman spinoff"
But then the Saul Goodman spin off actually happened and it's arguably better than BB
You trippin
Definitely not better than breaking bad
@@softbleach487 it’s much better than breaking bad idk what you’re seeing
@@Haddonfield63 really, you don't know what I'm seeing? Great acting, great plot, great character development, great pacing, action, suspense, great camera work, I could go on. Its one of the highest rated shows of all time, and for a good reason. Better call Saul has a lot of these qualities too and I still think it's a great show, but I also think breaking bad does most of these things better and the majority agrees. It's fine if you prefer BCS, but you're full of shit if you "don't know what I'm seeing". And saying it's "much" better is a stretch if I've ever seen one
@@softbleach487 notice how I used the word "arguably".
As much as I enjoy Better Call Saul and think it has the potential to surpass breaking bad, I'm not calling it until BCS ends. If BCS can have a terrific finale I think that will push it over
I started watching Better Call Saul but because of time restraints at the time stopped midway through the first season and now it's been so long since Breaking Bad/those first few episodes of BCS that I never had the motivation to get back into it because I've forgotten a lot. Through these reactions I get to watch a recapped version of the series through your eyes and will be ready to get back into Better Call Saul once you're done so thanks!
Breaking Bad is one of the best shows ever... it's similar to other great crime dramas like The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy or Ray Donovan in that the main character has family drama to deal with + some exciting, dangerous criminal undertaking, which makes it very compelling to watch. Plus, Breaking Bad makes great use of dramatic irony (like the secrets Walt is keeping from his family) as well as great character and character pairings with lots of conflict (Walt and Jesse are so entertaining together because they are so different)... so much more good stuff to come 💙♾🚛
"It wasn't me, it was Ignacio!....Did Lalo send you?"
i vote to officially make her name "jessie Jane"
When I read the title I thought you reacted on Better Call Saul .. was all excited ..ahah it should be on your list for the future after Breaking Bad.
Thank you for your hard work Steven and Nikki for dishing out these BB reactions it’s definitely showing out how much you put out to us viewers. You guys are amazing, keep it up can’t wait for more BB!
The Saul changes the show for the better. Love the character.
I been waiting for this episode lol Saul is such a character.
Hope you guys continue with Better Call Saul after finishing Breaking Bad
Please God no! ... BCS is a disgrace compared to BB
Reactions Most people do not share your opinion.
@@reactions5783 um joking right? They're very different shows, but BCS is just as well made and written as BB, with fantastic character development.
@Ely Gallego Not almost as good as BB at all, BCS is just good. This last season of BCS was the worst too imo
@Ely Gallego Lol you think BB's intense moments and great acting are on par with BCS? lmaooo, okay
Saul is played by Bob Odenkirk who used to do a sketch comedy show (Mr Show) with David Cross and a bunch of other comedians. He's good at being funny, partly because he has a comedy background.
18:15 now that "Better Call Saul" has ended, this scene hits different.
Better Call Saul, Yo. You both are awesome. Thank you for another awesome video, Mr and Mrs Yo 📹💙🔐🚐
You guys are gonna love Saul Goodman. There's a reason why they gave him his own show.
Saul is such a great character! So many great scenes and great lines with him!
I've been waiting for this one!
Cops can initiate drug deals as the buyer all they want. What they can't do is pose as a seller and talk people who weren't looking for drugs into buying from them. That's entrapment. In any case, they can lie about pretty much anything including being a cop. The only place they're required to tell the truth is in court.
I love that Badger is smart enough to know a sting operation and even points out the vans but is gullible enough to be convinced to deal anyways
It's such a treat to see a new reaction posted. . . . .
Handcuffs, 💙, van . . . .
Handcuffs, 💙 and brief case.
I never realised how nice Nikki's smile was until this episode. She looks so cute when she's laughing.
Me 10+ years ago: "😂 this Saul guy is obnoxious but hilarious!"
Me now: "😢Oh Jimmy."
The sale was the only criminal act the cops observed, so that was what the charge would be for...plus distribution charge always trumps simple possession charge, since it's a higher level of crime (class D felony vs class E felony, I think...it's been a while since I had to look that one up) and carries a higher penalty, so typically cops (and nearly always prosecutors) will drop the lower charge to focus on the higher charge.
yay, one of my top 3 favorite characters in BB finally got introduced.
"that exists?!" That is a universal truth. If there is a task, no matter how grueling, there is someone out there who will do it for the right price.
Everyone in every job sometimes gets overwhelmed like Hank. Turns out the solution isn't to take a concrete pill and 'harden up', put an extra pep in your step and pretend you're OK. Take some time for yourself, Hank.
I just wanted to say also that I love your reactions soooo much! The thing that you are so into this show like the GOT is super! You care about show and that's amazing! One of the best reactors on youtube.
When I first saw your thumbnail with "Better Call Saul Reaction", I thought you guys had started the Better Call Saul show while still watching Breaking Bad. I was like "nooooooo!" Thank goodness! Looking forward to more of your Breaking Bad journey and then moving on to Better Call Saul! 🔗💙💼
22:50 They would realize it but it doesn't matter at this time because the most pressing thing was to get Badger out of prison before he breaks.
The term you're trying to think of Steven at 27:32 is entrapment (the action of tricking someone into committing a crime in order to secure their prosecution)
Hey Nikki and Steven, I’m so glad you listened to me. You’ve been uploading the vids at a blazing speed and I love it. 🚐💙🔗
This pace is nothing new for us. We always upload around 3 episodes of our premium show a week
I loved Breaking Bad but Better Call Saul is even better. It's a slow grower but well worth the journey.
S'All Good, Man.
Just a quick translation, when Saul says: Yo siempre soy amigoThat means: I always I'm friend Just if you have curiosity
I'm so excited that there's still so many amazing characters that you haven't met yet. Saul was one of them.
these are making me want to binge watch the series again
I wish I could watch Breaking Bad for the first time again like these guys.
2:06 Had forgotten about the Baratheon thing. Thanks for the reminder Nikki, heh!
👍
This came up in my recommendations the other day and I had to subscribe! I'm all caught up with your BrBa videos now and can't wait to see your reactions to all the other crazy stuff that happens. It's interesting when you try and predict what happens, I can remember doing the same and then have the writers surprise me many times.
Who else was worried that the package was a tortuga bomb?

💙🚙⚖️ couldn’t find the handcuffs 🤦🏻♀️ so I used the scale from Sauls office 😂
Please watch Better Call Saul after this series, I am sure you'll love it!
I always found it a little unnerving that Walt said “Ever since my diagnosis, I sleep just fine.” Assuming he was telling the truth, that means that he slept better after murdering Emilio and Krazy-8 than he did in his pre-crime life; that the relief of living without fear and the joy of feeling powerful outweighed the guilt of taking human lives, even this early on 😬
24:50 I feel it's not a threat but I statement about the fact Jesse and Walt are financial idiots and will always be drowning the way they do things
Saul Goodman is the best thing to ever happened to Walt. Without Saul, Walt's empire n reputation as the greatest drug kingpin wouldn't exist.
In my school, it was the local DARE cop that was the drug dealer. He finally got busted when he got a 13 year old girl pregnant.
Whaaaaaaat?!?! - Nikki
@@NikkiStevenReact Yeah. This happened in the West Palm Beach area back in 1994. All I remember from the cop is that he was known as Deputy John.
18:14 - To your reaction of Better Call Saul Season 3 Episode 6 at 29:04
What coming is going to be at times heartbreaking, mind-blowing, sad and sometimes funny. Buckle up and han hang on.
There are no handcuffs so I'll give you🚔💙📲⚖ 💼💰...and the face that Steven makes 😬.
That was an awesome gift!
The look of utter joy on Nikki's face as the fake Heisenberg was taken down is why I enjoy this channel so much. 💙🚚🚙⛟🚛🔗
