  • This was my first ever drift day, in any car, and I'm really pleased with how it went. I have a little bit of experience drifting in the snow or just on the street, but most of my drift experience is from assetto corsa.
    The only changes I made for drifting was changing my alignment and running a smaller tire (205) since with 0 camber in the rear that's all I could fit without rubbing.

    And here I am paranoid about driving my 128i M sport in the streets for fear of abuse lol

    Just picked up a 128i last Feb. It's been a kick ass car. Taking it to it's first track night in two weeks. Killer video man!

    I’m really interested in purchasing this car soon for exactly what you’re doing, would you say it needs a camber/suspension upgrade from stock?

    So smooth and satisfying to watch! What engine is in it? Also, have you had any issues with the rod bearings at all? Keep up the good content!

      Thank you, it's still got the n52 that came with the car and is known to be a very reliable motor, even for heavy track use and is not known for any rod bearing or oil starvation issues under high G's or extended high rpm use.

    thinking of getting a 128i manual for the track. beautiful driving and sounds. can you tell me your exhaust setup? and can you share all of your mods?

    • @slow.e82
      @slow.e82  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      check out any of my other recent videos, I have the full mod list in the description, but the exhaust is just catless headers with a 3 inch straight pipe with a vibrant bottle style resonator.

    any advice on how to go about deleting all of the annoying assists the car has from factory? and when you swapped in a lsd how did you stop the elsd from applying the rear brakes? thank you i've been deep in the forums and can't find much info on the elsd.
    sick car btw makes me glad i have a 128i manual single hump

    Do you have an instructor by any chance? Have they said anything about you trying to turn the wheel at lightning speeds? :P

    • @slow.e82
      @slow.e82  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope never had any instructor or any instruction or anything, just figured it out as I went

    • @annihil8ted993
      @annihil8ted993 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slow.e82 Nice! I'm much the same too and one of the things I've been told is when the car is flicking back, to let go of the wheel. In a fast transition, it's dangerous/almost impossible to keep the hands up and you run the risk of crossing hands/miscatching the wheel if they're waving around. Instead, keep hands hovering around the wheel but let it go or let go the majority of the transition. The wheel will unwind itself and you maintain better control by having your hands always at the ready

      Watching your vid again, you're doing that partially already, so you've got some good instincts!

    How much have you spent in mods? If u dont mind?

    • @slow.e82
      @slow.e82  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m at about 18k, and that’s with me doing all the labor besides painting my bumper and rebuilding my differential into an lsd. You definitely don’t need to go to the same extremes to make these cars capable on track, as you could probably get like 90% of the performance for 1/2 the cost.

    • @mommaduck79
      @mommaduck79 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@slow.e82 18k?! ON WHAT?
      Sick drifting btw. Not sure what exhaust you're using but it sounds dope too.

    • @slow.e82
      @slow.e82  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mommaduck79 The exhuast is catless headers into a inch straight pipe with a single vibrant resonator. Check the description for some of my other videos as a have a pretty complete parts lists, but everything adds really quick when buying quality parts.
