      That’s awesome!! Yeah it’s definitely doable - I think the main limitation is how it affects print quality over time. But if you’re just prototyping, I think it has a ton of potential.

    Get a self leveling board and add antivibration pad installed on your printer shelf then place printer which will keep it level while driving as best as possible and the vibration pad will help always.
    Just a suggestion. Oh a suspension lift on the van will be a game changer for driving and for sure printing!!

    Do you ever worry about fumes from 3D printing? Your channel inspires me but I live in a tiny studio apartment and am wondering if it requires a high end model to avoid toxic melted plastic fumes in a living space

    • @penisesman4267
      @penisesman4267 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In general, filament printers fumes are not a big problem, opening a window would be enough. Resin printing is another world, resin fumes are toxic and an air extractor may be needed

    I'm doing a Morley video binge right now and loving it (thus the 5 months behind comment 😂) but if you want to try 3D printing on a boat for real, get in touch with Sailing La Vagabonde. I of course don't know them in person but have watched their channel for 5+ years and they give off similar 'adventure-forward + positive-energy' vibes and live full time on a sailing vessel they custom designed for trying to be fully electric (they got close 😅). I bet Riley would love the test of his electrical system to see if he could 3d print. And Elayna would get behind a few niche fixes I'm sure too. 😊 Anyway. Enjoying your videos. Just dropping a thought. Keep spreading such positive energy and fun ideas!!

    Random tip from a semi-professional drone pilot, Whenever you approach a drone or have a drone approach you to grab it out of the air, point it away from you. The person who taught me to fly said this: Our body's natural instinct if something goes wrong eg. a gust of wind, is to go forward. I usually put my hand flat under the drone then do the normal landing sequence. Although tilting it does work, there is a moment of stress on the motors, and you also risk cutting yourself, and getting cut by drone propellors is not fun

    There is a 3d printer on the International Space Station. NASA designed a ratcheting wrench and emailed it to them. Since NASA is owned by the American people, everything they do is open source, so you can download the stl and print one of your own. It does not have a reverse switch, so if you need to remove a bolt, you have to mirror the file and print a second one.

    Bambu printers have AC powered bed... and it is exactly the same bed in USA (110V) and Europe (230V). In USA this takes about 300W for initial heating. In EU initial heating easily jumps to 1000W! I wonder... if someone did 230V van system. Would it be able to deliver 1kW for 1-2 minutes and don't discharge too much?
    Also Maker's muse did interesting printing testing of non stable printer. Hanging on a single rope for example...

    Brooo, that printer is such a Warrior man, honestly, I think the failure that happened in the boat might've not been related to the movement of the boat, or at least not entirely, I think it was due to the lack of heat, you can see a lot of wind flowing around you cooling it off too quickly perhaps, so much so that it couldn't stick properly from one filament to the other, that, added to the wavy cruise, could be the reason. I'm thinking 90%wind, 10% movement, anyways, these bambu guys should be paying you for running these experiments and marketing stunts for them, just saying.
