@@HamRadioDuo Thanks, Becky! I thought activating was stressful, but editing was brutal. I ended up so cramped up and sore from sitting in the same position for so long, Ed had to put Biofreeze on me so my muscles would behave 😂

@@HamRadioDuo I was up and down because I would take time to play with the dogs, and grab some lickies and chewies (snacks), and potty breaks of course, but I figured out that I am holding my shoulder up so I don't lean on the desk and the mouse... that was the main area of discomfort. What I learned from all that was that I need to record shorter videos... less editing. 🤣

@@PaulK7VIQ Thanks Paul. Yes....the tape measures make for a very quick deployment of my vertical. I've used them on both a 17 ft telescopic whip as well as on Tarheel Screwdriver. WA7RAR

Hi guys. What date was this activation from? I had a QSO with Shantel on 7/3 but I was the one calling CQ, and got a response from her. I know I did say hi SHANTEL . It was a handful to send, lol. I think I even spelled it right. Anyhow, keep up the good work, I love the videos. John. WA2OUZ

I actually have a ZM-2 that I ordered. I was excited to try it but TOTALLY missed that it ONLY goes up to 15 watts. I'll never use it so let me know if it's something you can use.

Some time ago you used the MA-12 antenna and sort of posted the question as yo whether it was better or worse than the mc-750. I can't see if you ever stated your opinion on it. Unfortunately the challegance antenna is ridiculously expensive here in the uk but the MA12 is not too bad. What were your thoughts on it as a portable antenna system?
@@samcollins6394 // Great question. Now that you mention it, we used the MA-12. We just called it by the wrong name. The MA-12 is the exact same antenna as the MC750. same bag, same radials, same everything. I have the MC750, Shantel has the MA-12.. We did however order an extra MC750 tripod. It just arrived. So next AA4SB video will be with tripod.
@@samcollins6394 Apologies, Sam, for not addressing that comparison, but really besides the whip being a bit more “beefy” on the MC-750, there wasn’t much difference. The performance was the same with both, so….I’d say you’d be smart and your wallet wouldn’t cry so much if you were to purchase the MA-12. Thanks for the follow question and for watching. 😊 73 AA4SB

Still practicing QSO at 12/7 very slowly, but my brain is starting to recover a little bit sooner after a practice QSO now. Soon maybe I will be able to do 2 QSO's in a row before brain wigs out. Thanks, Paul! LICW has changed quite a bit since your issued #. It may be worth it to check out the new courses (if you haven’t gone in a while). They have a really effective way of not only learning CW but retaining it and helping to increase your ICR (Instant Character Recognition). And personal practice or buddy practice is absolutely imperative for retaining and improving those CW skills. Keep working at it and I’m sure it will all fall into place for you. 😉 73 AA4SB
