- Thanks for watching my activation videos. I am a new CW operator who started learning CW a year ago. I am a new HAM too. Hope to inspire new CW operators to activate POTA (Parks On The Air). parksontheair.com
If you would like to support me so I can activate other parks or make more videos I will greatly appreciated it if you can buy me a coffee: buymeacoffee.c...
I am still working on my audio issues and I hope it will get resolve soon.
Thanks for stopping by.
You are brilliant on the key. My late Dad loved CW all his life and could easily send and receive any speed up to 70 wpm even !
Thanks! That is wonderful about your dad. 🙏🏼
@@KQ3Q Yes not so wonderful he isn't around though !
@digitalmediafan Im so sorry. Same thing with mine. I lost my dad 21 years ago but we can always cherish their memories. Hugs 🤗
Tnx so much for sharing with us! I’m new to CW, and this gives me some confidence to do it myself.
You're welcome and thanks for watching. If I can do it and especially all by myself anybody can do it too. :)
It was me! WB5MET great to work you and I love your channel. Keep up the good work!
Yes!!!!!!!!! My code copying was so off but I was so happy to get you!
Jimmy rocks 😎
Congratulations on your license and CW achievements - have fun with your amateur radio - 73 from Mort / G4BSK
You did awesome. 👏
Keep up the great work

Thanks a lot! See you soon at the club.
Pretty cool!
TU so much for doing this and sharing your video. I have done hunting but not so much activating. This does give me courage to do more activation of parks. 73
I haven't opped mobile in a long time -- used to have an FT-847 in each of two vehicles -- have a slew of mobile antennas to choose from now -- best mobile QSO, I was driving through Kentucky and worked Japan -- on CW. Cool. I've never had one of those leg-grip military surplus keys, but do have a leg-mount notepad holder kinda thing. My CT1ILT 3D printed keys are cool in that they have four very strong little magnets on the bottom -- magnetically clamp onto the top of a radio, etc. -- anything with "iron" in it -- the leg notepad thing is aluminum! But I just realized I can duct tape a little steel plate to it and the key should hold onto that well. Realizing that issue, I've set aside several little steel plates that I happened to have "in the junkbox." For me anyway, not having to hold the key will be nice. Also, I'm gonna get a computer going and log and send from it when doing a mobile and/or POTA op. I'm getting inspired to be an "activator" it seems!
Hi! I do hope you get inspired enough to do your own activation. It is really nice to hear many familiar hunters. It is indeed fun.
Another successful activation in spite of the heat, humidity, and mosquitoes! Looks like holding the paddles while sending is working well for you! Sure looks like you are used to it to me! 73, Patrick KF4LMZ
It appears so. 😬
Great interaction with the kids. The explanation was great and in the end there mind was blown. Keep up the activations!
Thanks! :)
This callsign KQ3Q is very good. Easy to copy on CW. 73
🙂
I still haven’t bought a key but your videos are always closer to giving me the push. Well done on your activation.
Get a very affordable key! No need to spend over a hundred dollars for your first key. 🙂
I Love the explanation and the step by step!! Great video!! Hope to see you again @ W4SVI
😊TNX
Great Job! Thanks for sharing!
You encourage me. I'm almost there. LICW is a lot of fun. Ty
Your welcome! Keep it up. 🙂
73 de KE3Q I've been working KC3SEG POTAs regularly -- friend moved from Maryland to Florida. Now am also working N4FFF and N4BKY and watching their videos -- which led me to you! . if I did it right I just added you to my HamAlert triggers! Fun. Your sending is very good with that paddle. I have a few 3D printer ones too -- two different ones bought on Amazon -- $59 for one, $49 for the other -- and then I found the Felipe Lopes -- CT1ILT, CR6K, something like that -- bought three from him!
Thanks for stopping by my humble channel. Mike N4FFF and Becky N4BKY have really nice videos and very inspiring couple as well. Now that the weather is nicer I need to go and activate. I have been busy but it is time to POTA.
Aw, don't worry about sending 6K instead of BK. It happens. A savvy op will know what you meant (in context). "Historically," sending eight dits means you made a mistake and then you send what you meant. I know a lot of people don't send eight dits -- they send maybe four, maybe spaced apart a bit, like e e e e, not H. That works too.... good thing you're a YL -- tho' on CW people can't tell -- but it will help reduce confusion between KE3Q and KQ3Q!
Nice job, Lidi! Thanks for sharing your adventures. That's one thing I definitely appreciate about POTA, you can activate from a vehicle. Outside is first choice. But it's nice to have the option when you need it! 73 es cul
Great video, Lidi!!! Love the follow mode of the front camera. With regard to contacts…the struggle is real and I am well aware of that myself 😉 YL’s RULE!!!! 😀 73 AA4SB
yes!!!! YL rule! hahah.. Hope not to disappoint LOL
@@KQ3Q NEVER!!! 🦹♀️⚡️🧨regla de las muchachas!
Congratulations on your activation in this video, Lidi… and on recently obtaining your Kilo. Good work 😊.
Great to hear your comments and excitement in the video as you make your QSOs. It’s like we are with you in the park.
You had a QSO with Jimmy in Texas this time around and I will be doing a POTA day with him in early December. Looking forward to that.
Hope to have a contact with you sometime from the UK or TX… or see you in a LICW Zoom room. GL es GUD DX.

Thanks Tim! That will be fun doing POTA with him. Hope to make contact over the air with you :)
KQ3Q De AD2ER 73’s and thanks for the video! 😊
Thanks for watching 😊
Great Job Lidi! Hope to hear you on the air soon!
Hola Lidi, eso es genial lo que haces, te felicito
Muchas gracias ☺️
Hi just found your channel and I've always been into radio mainly 11 meters, but looking to take my HAM TEST soon, I've had radio's with CW on them and great to listen, but can't understand what being said. Anyway I come from ENGLAND very close to bletchley park, which I'm sure you have heard of, been there a few times and what a amazing place. I just think of those people in the field trying to send messages and trying not to get caught or even worse. Thanks again for the way you explain it. Because it makes much more sense to me .and to see the smile on your face when you understand what being said.sorry for the big message but I'm hooked on to it now.thanks again Alan 26CT ,48/70. 73s🇺🇲🇬🇧💯👍
Hi Alan! Thanks for watching! My husband still has an 11 meters radio in his car plus VHF/UHF. I hope you take your HAM test. Check out the Long Island CW Club. It is a wonderful online club where not only you learn CW there are many forums and overall great fellowship. We have many members from England 🏴 73 Lidi
Great video! Keep up the POTA CW activations. 73 Greg in Vancouver
Thanks 😊
Nice job, Lidi. I have never activated from inside the car. I cannot figure out the arrangement as I am so used to spreading out. It's always good to see you on the air. Bien hecho!
I'm learning CW and your videos are great practice for understanding the flow of a slow conversation
Thanks for watching. I greatly appreciate it. :)
I’ve began learning cw this year, on my own for now. I’m determined to make a QSO with you someday Lidi! 🤜🤛
Hi Lidi! Isn’t it terrible when you have your keep mosquito spray in your cup holder??!! Hihi
I’ve been listening for your signal, but it’s a long way to Idaho for QRP especially when the sun isn’t cooperating!!!
God Bless,
Mike - KK7MMN
Great video. I gave you a sub.
It was so pleasant to watch your video. I used to get on the novice bands and send at 5 wpm. I think you are sending at 10 wpm, which is faster than you may think.
Thanks for watching! Hope to continue getting more proficient. :)
Awesome job lidi
Thanks Drew! :)
POTA is great CW practice. Strong work in tough conditions! GL 72 -Mat K4OCY
I whish i can do that , never learn good enough , keep the good work you are doing 73.
It is a matter of continue practicing little by little. You can do it! 💪🏻
@@KQ3Q 👍👍👍👍
It's great to see YLs like yoursef getting into amateur radio, especially code, great job! 73 de KD5MHQ

Danke für das einschalten 🥰
This heat and humidity is ridiculous. Nice job!! 73!
I know! I cannot wait for cooler weather to return. 73
I was trying out a new key I need to get use to it. Your video gave me some good feedback, however.
Thanks Jimmy! I'm still getting used to hold a paddle with one hand and squeeze with the other.
wow, cw even. Something for everyone in the hobby.
Hi Lidi, Nice video, very refreshing - I kinda got interested in POTA once but never took it any further - perhaps I should activate a Park or two? 72/73 Terry, ve3ega
Wonderful!! What radio transceiver are you using. I'm studying qrp rigs for CW.
I’m use QCX mini and MFJ-9200
Love the video Lidi, thank you for sharing you are an inspiration. 73 KO4UWU
N9FZ is Cainan. He used to be KQ4DAP. I always forget it’s him until after the contact is done 😮. No one cares if you make a mistake. So far, no one I know has been arrested and thrown in prison for that.
Haha true 😁
Cool Lidet! 73 de W6ZDR
Hey Audie! TNX
GREAT JOB HOPEFULLY WORK YOU ONE DAY KJ6SIB
:)
There is no need to strain yourself so much while working in Morse code. Dots and dashes sound like music in your head, and you just have to hear it. This is a great activation, keep it up. With love from Russia. Ub8afl. 73!
Thanks so much! My first DX contact was on HF was with a Russian station! 73
Awesome 🎉 I appreciate your skills. Still I can't make any CW contact. De VE7JAI

Thanks! Why can’t you make any CW contacts? Keep practicing and don’t be shy to get on the air. :)
