As someone who just got back from Negril this month, and who has been there many times before, just realize how HOT Negril is and take this into account when planning activities. It may be too hot for Canadians - even at the beach or Blue Hole. And most of these activities have increased in price substantially since COVID. Ricks Cafe is an American tourist trap with too many loud and drunk Muricans. Food there starts at $20 USD per plate so it’s easy to spend $100 USD for a couple plates for lunch plus drinks, tax and tip. Plan your budget realistically. You’ll also need to either pay for a taxi to get there (NOT walkable from 7-mile beach) or you’ll need a car rental. Budget for these things as well. In April 2024, many hotels were lacking water as well due to an island wide drought (we had water at our hotel but many others didn’t).

How do you get there? Do you fly straight to Negril? I am flying to Montego Bay and I would like to visit Negril as well.

I usually take one of the buses to Negril .
It's a long ride, but I usually stay there so the end reward is worth it. It is the most chill place on the whole island.
PS. Stay for sunset at Ricks Cafe.
@@beachbum333 Do you take the bus right from the airport? How much is it? I don't mind the bus at all. I am flying to Montego Bay and trying to fugure out the best plan of action. Cars are cheap there to rent, but do I want to drive on the left hand side. I am not sure yet, as I have never done it haha. I wonder why do I usually go for vacation to new places ughh. When you go to the same place, there are much less questions and unknowns. Anyway, I hope it will be good.

I must admit my travel plans are handled by someone else. I believe it's about $25/$30 and I get it directly at the airport. The ride is about an hour and a half. (+/-)

I appreciated seeing Country Country mentioned as a place to stay in Negril. I had been to Negril 7 times before discovering Country Country & we LOVE it there. It’s our 3rd time back to CC this coming March. It’s just in a perfect part of the beach, has gorgeous grounds & a very quaint architecture. The included breakfasts are fantastic too.

How did you find the RIU Palace? My partner and I are planning on going there towards the end of the year! :)
@@ALUMINUM20 My son and his family went there 3 or 4 years ago. Our entire family went there last Thanksgiving. I talked to my travel agent and he said you can't go wrong with Riu Palace. Be sure to stay at a Riu with the word Palace in it. They are a grade above other Riu's. Be sure to take a drive or catamaran to Rick's Cafe. Fun bar and cliff diving.

Was there about 6 years ago. Did most of the attractions, but there’s some I did miss off your list. Will definitely go back. One I think you didn’t mention was Margaritaville, where they provide party boats for those who want to snorkel by the reefs. Love the video.

We have just booked to go back to the Riu negril in September for the forth time the fifth time to Jamaica it will be the first time back since are holiday was cancelled because of covid in 2020 can’t wait to get back in the warmer waters and do a bit of snorkelling and look at the colourful fish again it was are 40th wedding anniversary in march so we were determined to celebrate it in are favourite holiday place before the end of the year Jamaica 🇯🇲

Resort appeared clean and the room appears fine. Food on other hand was not very appealing...

@@Lifeinstylej I've been to Jamaica 16 times and say that many resorts. Is grand lido, resorts. hedonism 2, rayon hotel ,kyuba, sandy haven, charella and a few others.
