    🧐WHO AM I 🧐
    My name is Nafi, I am a second year medical student at the University of Leeds.
    I come from a bangladeshi background (however never living in Bangladesh myself), born in Singapore and then moved to Norwich, England where I went to primary school, high school and sixth form!
    I am currently creating vlogs about my time at medical school as it's something that I have wanted to do for along time. I also create other videos about stuff; generally medicine or health related (but not always)!

    Amazing news. Thanks for keeping it real. And just being honest about your experience. As a GEM applicant, the times I have “failed” used to be embarrassing to me as I didn’t really know anyone who had been on less of a straight path. Thanks for sharing that human aspect of being a medical student and reaffirming that we don’t “fail” because we didn’t try! Thankyou for sharing. If you had any tips on managing exam anxiety would be great!
    Best of luck! You’re gonna be such a good doctor.

      Glad to have helped out! All medical students go through the same stuff so it's important to remember that every now and then.
      Thanks!
      Also you've given me a new video idea 💡

      @@nafi.iftekhar thanks Nafi. I just struggle with the pre-emptive anxiety, (ie: what if it goes wrong etc), as I know becoming a Dr really is the only path for me. It’s very reassuring to know I’m not the only one.
      Thanks 😊

    Getting behind or possibly ahead of myself in commentary but just wanted to say how glad I was that this had a happy ending and a great new chapter. I’m in the process of taking a year out to develop my other clinical role before I start medical school and I’ve found your story really helpful to read. It’s a really bold decision of yours to intercalate and I really admire it. Quite indicative of the level of commitment you have to medicine as a science and I’m sure you’ll be an amazing doctor for it.

    Well done man! Glad you made it. That sucks about getting kicked out if you fail. Has that happened to anyone yet?

      Thanks! I do sadly know of a few people being kicked out and more having to resit the year so it was a very real consequence

    On an unrelated note, would you recommend medicine to applicants who dont really enjoy biology/human body in much depth lol??

    • @nafi.iftekhar
      @nafi.iftekhar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      Uhh, well I am someone who really doesn't care too much about biology (didn't even do the A level), I think you've definitely got to be interested in the human body. Medicine is one of those subjects where you've sort of got to eat/live/breathe the subject to want to study it for 5-6 years

    What happens if you failed ? Do you not get to retake third year ?

    • @michell3214
      @michell3214 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you fail the resit you are off the course. Unless you have mitigation then you are allowed to retake the whole year but have to pay for it.
