My three metal bands from japan, Galneryus, Onmyouza and Dir en grey.
I went to a VERSAILLES concert some years ago.. It is strange, but Mexico have seen some japanese bands and singers in the past decade: X-JAPAN, FLOW, THE GAZETTE, AN CAFE, VAMPS, BABY METAL, MIYAVI...
But not GALNERYUS... And that is the band I really want to hear live.
Here at Mexico we have MIX UP (Tower Records disappeared 9 years ago), and I buy all my CD´s in there.

There was an american band called ANIMETAL USA, it was a tribute band to the japanese Animetal band, check who where the members. I have the first CD, but the second is to expensive now.
Please, I would really like you to do review of GAMMA RAY.. The second band for the guy many revere as the father of Power Metal. Kai Hansen.

@@lunasea8908 Agreed! Really Love Junichi as their original and very long time drummer (from 2001 until 2016 i think. Cmiiw). His performance are always mindblowing. Especially at his footwork. And he always play their song perfectly at every of their liveshows....
Fumiya's Presence on Galneryus are one of the best thing ever happened to this band! For me, he is the best Galneryus drummer (Better than Jun imo.) His first album on Galneryus "Ultimate Sacrifice" are also epic and it's the most "Powerfull" album to me. And he plays live perfectly as well. A perfect succesor for Junichi. Really sad that he left the band....
When i read that he is being replaced by Lea, it's like "Damn! This band always have a great drummer! It's gonna be epic!" Really love Lea's work on his youtube. Every of his Drum cover video of Galneryus are always perfect! Big support to Lea! Hope he make a best thing to the band same as Junichi and Fumiya, And also the other members of the band!
And about the bassline, idk why, Taka's bassline is always the hardest. Really loved him. One of the most greatest and underrated bassist ever existed in this world! Tsui and Leda (yu-to) was great too, but Taka was the perfect fit for the band!

I couldn't have said it better myself. idk why everyone only recognize syu , the other members are underrated ... like how can a drummer even maintain that fast tempo for 2 and half hours live without missing a note,,,also imo fumiya is also my fav one as he is more expressive and experimental with his drumming both in galneryus and in the recent unlucky morpheus even though i dislike his live snare sound.

Great review with good information about the band, I think Galneryus' fans (me included) missed at least one song from the Yama-B era (most of the songs were in english like Struggle for the Freedom Flag or Whisper in the Red Sky)
Yes you are correct in identifying a focus on more recent work from the band. It is simply based on my own listening patterns I think Yama-B is a great singer, it's just that I listened to more songs from the recent Galneryus production. - Anamaria

The band CONQUEST - My Aim from Ukraine which I recommend you a few weeks ago, sound similar to the first song by Galneryus, but without the wall of sound they had. The second song by Galneryus has some similarities with the other band I recommend: AQUARIA - Judgment Day. You hav'em on your list already, I think.
For your information, Conquest are from Ukraine while Aquaria were from Brasil. It is enough to listen to one song of each band. I also recommended you SYMPHONITY which is a band from Czech Republic. However, I forgot to tell that the vocalist of SYMPHONITY is Olaf Hayer. He used to sing in the band LUCA TURILLI. LUCA TURILLI was Luca Turilli's second band besides Rhapsody (of Fire).
The requests were Conquest - My Aim, Aquaria - Judgment Day, Symphonity - Evening Star.
WE NEED MORE! If you had a hard time chosing 3 we hope for more. For example Brutal Spiral of Emotions & Destiny for a cachy refrain!

I recommend you to do ANGRA as well as VIPER from Brasil. I only know the first three albums of ANGRA. Since their first vocalist left the band, I haven't followed them. The songs I recommend by ANGRA are from their first two albums. I love their fast songs especially. The vocalist of the first ANGRA albums "Angels Cry" and "Holy Land" is Andre Matos who passed away last year.
Before ANGRA was founded, Andre Matos had been the vocalist of VIPER. Viper played Power Metal as well, but more the Manowar brand of Power Metal.
Therefore, I recommend you the following:
1. Angra I: Unfinished Allegro/Carry On, Z.I.T.O., Evil Warning
2. Angra II: Never Understand, Angels Cry, Carolina IV
3. Viper: Soldiers of Sunrise, A Cry From The Edge, Living For the Night
They don't have any official videos to the songs, but it is worth checking them out. The first one (Angra I) is something for both of you. They are more straight forward speedy power metal songs with some twists here and there. They are very creative.
Angra II: I chose songs that are more unpredictable, because they vary speed with midtempo and slow parts. They are all three very special songs. My personal highlight is Carolina IV. They combine power metal with classical and Brasilian percussions.
Viper: They are more old school power metal, but they have a nice sound. They are fast and the vocals are very good.
If you want to do just one Angra video, then I recommend you the second, Angra II: Never Understand, Angels Cry, Carolina IV. I know that after listening to this one, you will do the first as well.

Syu also released his last album called VORVADOS (2019) with a lot of guest like Jacky Vincent and Fuki (from Unlucky Morpheus)
Fumiya was on Undead Corporation (2016) but actually they are a great band with 2 vocalists.
Masatoshi "Sho" Ono released an album called VS (2017) split in two, Diva and Legend version where he perform a lot of good stuff like Bon Jovi, Evanescence, Van Halen, Rick Ashley, Maria Carey...

@@MetalAcademix What should I say, every song of them has their own magic. When I found them I listened 6h a day for a whole week. That's love at the first view I guess and I found them just randomly by adding Anime openings to my spotify list and that's how Raise My Sword showed me a new world. May I ask for a very different type of music? Lenny Kravitz is such an awesome experience that I would recommand.. Rock and Roll is dead, Let Love Rule and Fly Away are a good Mix I guess. I'm just 16 but I can say that this man was my whole childhood. I can't tell which Song is good to Start with because all Songs are amazing to me.
Lenny Kravitz falls a bit outside the range of this channel, but I agree that he's an excellent musician!

Interesting. I have listened to some Visual Kei bands, but not going back all the way to the founding groups. The problem with older bands is that there is little footage of them playing, or they did not produce many videos to go with their music. It is hard to showcase them on a visual medium like TH-cam. - Anamaria

Nice to see Versailles mentioned, sadly it feels like they start to fall into even more obscurity with all the new female metal/ rock bands.
What is so unique with Versailles is that they did not take a in place concept.
But instead created there own unique sound, and that is why I regard them higher than any other Japanese metal band ( you could also add Maximum the hormone here, but they are not doing as complex melodies).
Sadly very few reactors or music channels cover Versailles now a days...
I also think that Versailles has very sophisticated compositions, and the duo Teru - Hizaki is fantastic at providing 🎸 energy. I am not sure why they may get less attention, but it could also be because Teru and Hizaki split their attention between Versailles and Jupiter...

Really hope they get back together once more, but you never know if a new album would match up to the expectation of the fans after such a long break.
