Ryan wants the rights to the sequel. Baldoni owns those rights. There is a morality clause in the purchase agreement. Couple points from someone in the legal profession: March 2026 is actually a really early trial date for a civil trial; a gag order is highly unlikely - judges don’t like to do that unless someone’s safety is at risk (Hollywood egos don’t count); The judge’s brother previously directing Blake in some nothing PSA almost 20 years ago isn’t a reason for recusal and won’t affect impartiality; You are correct, this trial will not be televised and there won’t be an exception as federal court is extremely strict with this; and both parties benefit from consolidating the cases - litigation is extremely costly (even for Hollywood millionaires) and I don’t see either side being hurt by it.
It always amazes me when people lash out, spreading nastiness and untruths against others, but then get so upset when the others fight back! This is a classic narcissistic move.
It's a histrionic move, to use the correct (probably) personality disorder. But I'm not entirely convinced if the attribution, because Blake might be manipulated herself. I don't think she's very intelligent, certainly not dumb like Amber Heard was a complete idiot who had to act smart in her life long deception on everyone. Blake is probably more of the kind that makes impulsive moves without thinking through the consequences. Despite that, she is still probably not smart enough to pull off this level of subterfuge. Don't be impressed by words like subterfuge, because even that in this case is dumb given the complete train wreck this has become for Blake's side.
I don't think it's that big of a deal that he voicenoted her at 2am. I went back and checked the lawsuit: She texted him at 1:49am and he responded with his voicenote at 2am - 10 minutes later. He says he is apologetic that she felt sad and unappreciated by him. If he felt like she was upset by his response to her script, that's why he wanted to reassure her quickly instead of waiting for the next day. He clearly says: "I hope you are feeling better" at the end of his message.
What really also gets me mad about her behaviour, is that she didn’t even write the rooftop scene herself!!! She said in an interview that Ryan wrote it!! So, here’s this woman complaining to Justin about how he only complimented her ‘passion’ regarding the rewrite and not the actual amazing content and genius of her writing, and that Ryan and Taylor both thought her work was incredible and were her biggest supporters, when she hadn’t even wrote the scene!!! She’s a total fake and crazy manipulator.
It sounds like he was really stressed out and in his own head about Blake's texts to him. Sounded to me like he was trying to smooth things over for her. Which imo, she didn't deserve.
You can tell by his message he was clearly walking on eggshells in dealing with her and it still wasn't good enough because she wasn't really upset she was clearly trying to manipulate to get her way.

It’s funny because I seem to be one of the few that didn’t know much about Blake Lively, but actually followed Justin for years. I watched Jane the Virgin and followed him but I stuck around following him actually because of the content he posted - the activist podcasts and movies, his emotionally intelligent talks and works and self work, his ridiculously adorable, obviously genuine and wholesome relationship with his lovely wife… Basically I followed due to a show and stuck around due to the human. Usually if I follow someone after I like a show, I unfollow a couple months later when the show buzz wears off for me, but Baldoni was cool enough of a guy to make me stick around and support casually for years .I’m glad people are finally catching on to Baldoni but I wish it were via a very very different route 🥲

I just read an article that talks about Ryan Reynolds improvising slapping a child in the face during a scene while filming 2005 movie, The Amityville Horror. It was not in the script, he just took it upon himself to slap the child in the face, he did not discuss it with the child or his parents. The article said he didn’t speak to any of the children to stay in character as the abusive step father. You should go read his response in interviews, very disturbing! He made bad jokes, he apparently said Native Americans were possessing his character, he also joked that the child had it coming. Um

Very troubling that the judge agreed with Blake and Ryan’s request to have the hearing for a gag order moved up significantly earlier than the original date set by said judge. Hoping Baldoni’s attorney makes an effort to have this judge removed. Seems to already be showing some bias. His brother knowing and working with Lively is a huge problem. Lawyer here. I think that it is beneficial to everyone to have the cases consolidated. That way you're not bringing witnesses back for each case and they only have to testify once and it's basically the judge is going to say it's for judicial economy, And that serves all the parties and the court. That's my take on it.

Responding to some of your points as an attorney that practices in fed court: both reap the benefits of consolidation because they won’t have to essentially pay their attorneys for litigating the same case twice; it won’t be televised because it’s in fed court; to that end, I am curious to know what the basis of their jurisdiction is to keep the case in federal court. There’s probably a federal statute as the basis for one or more claim, but I haven’t read the complaints so I would just be speculating
I think it’s unfair that there is a connection with the judge, even if he doesn’t know her personally if a juror had a connection with the person involved in the case they wouldn’t be removed and replaced.. but honestly, it doesn’t matter this will never go to court. Blake will not get the gag order and there’s no way in hell that Blake and Ryan are going to go through this a whole year. It’s only been a couple of weeks and people can’t stand them. They’re going to settle with Justin and make him sign legal documents saying that. he cannot release anything or talk about them anymore… and if that happens, then we’ll know once and for all. that Blake and Ryan are lying. If they truly feel that he is guilty than they’ll wait and go to trial but if not, it’ll just be about shutting him up.
Judge changed the date to earlier date, I think they are influencing the Judge already through his brother and they will get the gag order I guess. Within a year, I think people will forget about Blake and Ryan and how bad they are. Already some people are tired by this evidence releasing one after the other and people wont have that much time to follow this case this whole year. Judge can’t have any connection. I was thrown off jury service when the defence lawyer was my first cousin. That’s in Ireland anyway. Countries could differ.
Same in the U.S if there is a conflict of interest that person isn't allowed on the jury, same with lawyers, and even doctors can't work on family because your judgment is impaired. They need a different judge doesn't matter how long ago anything was there could be a conflict of interest.
I think it is highly relevant to the case that the judge's brother is Doug Liman. He is a top-tier director-he made Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Bourne Identity, and two films with Tom Cruise. He surely has strong opinions about actresses hijacking a film from a director who not only directed it but also bought its rights. And the brothers must talk about this, right?

It’s funny because I seem to be one of the few that didn’t know much about Blake Lively, but actually followed Justin for years. I watched Jane the Virgin and followed him but I stuck around following him actually because of the content he posted - the activist podcasts and movies, his emotionally intelligent talks and works and self work, his ridiculously adorable, obviously genuine and wholesome relationship with his lovely wife… Basically I followed due to a show and stuck around due to the human. Usually if I follow someone after I like a show, I unfollow a couple months later when the show buzz wears off for me, but Baldoni was cool enough of a guy to make me stick around and support casually for years .I’m glad people are finally catching on to Baldoni but I wish it were via a very very different route 🥲

I just read an article that talks about Ryan Reynolds improvising slapping a child in the face during a scene while filming 2005 movie, The Amityville Horror. It was not in the script, he just took it upon himself to slap the child in the face, he did not discuss it with the child or his parents. The article said he didn’t speak to any of the children to stay in character as the abusive step father. You should go read his response in interviews, very disturbing! He made bad jokes, he apparently said Native Americans were possessing his character, he also joked that the child had it coming. Um

I also recall that interview in a teen magazine in which he was quoted as having said that he hadn't been a very good boyfriend or that he needed to be a better boyfriend. That hasn't been given attention either and they sure tried swaying the public by re-releasing that clip of JB speaking about Britney Spears and having TMZ highlight that JB's lawyer had previously tried to sue JB.
Very troubling that the judge agreed with Blake and Ryan’s request to have the hearing for a gag order moved up significantly earlier than the original date set by said judge. Hoping Baldoni’s attorney makes an effort to have this judge removed. Seems to already be showing some bias. His brother knowing and working with Lively is a huge problem. Doesn’t matter if it was years ago.
The powerful and influential people, especially in Hollywood, will always win in the end.

Lawyer here. I think that it is beneficial to everyone to have the cases consolidated. That way you're not bringing witnesses back for each case and they only have to testify once and it's basically the judge is going to say it's for judicial economy, And that serves all the parties and the court. That's my take on it.

Responding to some of your points as an attorney that practices in fed court: both reap the benefits of consolidation because they won’t have to essentially pay their attorneys for litigating the same case twice; it won’t be televised because it’s in fed court; to that end, I am curious to know what the basis of their jurisdiction is to keep the case in federal court. There’s probably a federal statute as the basis for one or more claim, but I haven’t read the complaints so I would just be speculating

I think it will settle before court. Most cases do but I suppose we are dealing with power obsessed people here.

I think it’s unfair that there is a connection with the judge, even if he doesn’t know her personally if a juror had a connection with the person involved in the case they wouldn’t be removed and replaced.. but honestly, it doesn’t matter this will never go to court. Blake will not get the gag order and there’s no way in hell that Blake and Ryan are going to go through this a whole year. It’s only been a couple of weeks and people can’t stand them. They’re going to settle with Justin and make him sign legal documents saying that. he cannot release anything or talk about them anymore… and if that happens, then we’ll know once and for all. that Blake and Ryan are lying. If they truly feel that he is guilty than they’ll wait and go to trial but if not, it’ll just be about shutting him up.
Judge changed the date to earlier date, I think they are influencing the Judge already through his brother and they will get the gag order I guess. Within a year, I think people will forget about Blake and Ryan and how bad they are. Already some people are tired by this evidence releasing one after the other and people wont have that much time to follow this case this whole year. I think they should release all the evidence once and go to trial cause Justin may not get proper justice in the court as they might get new false evidence with the the help of the cast. Blake and ryan are so desperate they will go to any lengths to do whatever they want.

Judge can’t have any connection. I was thrown off jury service when the defence lawyer was my first cousin. That’s in Ireland anyway. Countries could differ.
Same in the U.S if there is a conflict of interest that person isn't allowed on the jury, same with lawyers, and even doctors can't work on family because your judgment is impaired. They need a different judge doesn't matter how long ago anything was there could be a conflict of interest.
