The idea is to make it so hard that you never want to apply or bother with benifits it's to distroy your want to ever claim benifits again .... It's to make people on benifits feel like dirt ...

@@TallyKerr it's part of a bigger idea the conservative side of government has ... I'm over 60 and my experience has been negative too. I wrote to my MP and copied the letter to my journal but they don't give a f**k because they are doing exactly what it was designed to do. UC has actually made me unemployed because I couldn't afford the travel expenses to the job that I actually had (no work in my area) whereas Working Tax Credits did help previously.

Yeah I made a formal complaint though their complaint line and I got a call back from a job centre I'd never been to being all apologetic! When I finally got put through to the right job centre they just focused on fixing the easy things like how I got misinformed, and said there's nothing they or I can do about the wider issues

Here's my example to why this uc doesn't work. I fell ill, so started temping, last month I did 18 hours work, uc entitlement for a month is £ 317.82, just over 2 days work equated to £ 150.57, taper rate takes 63 pence from every pound earned. So £ 94.86 is taken off the £ 317.82 leaving £ 222.04. So I've worked for less than £ 30 for those days, so work does not pay under uc, it simply mugs you off and exploits you even more you already are under temp, zero hour gig economy. Flying in the face of tory rhetoric, that your better off in work or any small amount of work makes you better off.

Ive found myself out of work as a single mom having to have life saving surgery and also severe sciatica. My experience with Universal Credit and ESA has been just as much as a shamble. No one seems to know what they are doing. Theres no communication between departments! They say i am not entitled to back pay because I dont have an illness or medical condition (WHAT) They have my Fit Note from GP!!! Its horrendous. And how do people get on who have no IT knowledge. So eventually they inform me of what payment I shall be getting. Once my rent and bills are paid, I shall be left with 70.00 per week for myself and my daughter to live on. Ive worked all my life and paid my Taxes and this is what the Government deem as acceptable??? I will definitely need to visit the food bank. Disgusted/Scared and heartbroken. And christmas is fast approaching. Get this Government out because they dont have any sense or any heart.

Unfortunately the Blairites and the Jewish friends of Labour are deliberately shooting Labour in the foot because they would prefer the Tory government to a Labour Government. They hate Jeremy Corbyn so much because he campaigned against the Israeli occupation and land steal in Palestine. It doesn't help that JC(who i support) hasn't got the balls to stand up to them and has turned out to be just the same as any other politician. Is he just weak? or has he been bought out, I mean he also used to be vehemently anti EU, but not any more, even agreeing to a new referendum just to maintain support.
It looks to me like the Tories are in power for a long time, and we the working class will get screwed to the floorboards, as well as the NHS will be run down and any form of welfare including state pensions will go, we will end up like America where the working class are treated like shit and the big Corporations get away scot free. And this in a time when most jobs are minimum wage, Zero hours or Gig economy work. But their day of reckoning is coming...mark my words. They will eventually be hurled from power...the DWP may be disbanded, and there will be a paper trail of all those innocent vulnerable people who were killed by the Tories and DWP, leading right back to them.
So any future investigation of those deaths, by an independent body, would know the names and the position of THE MINISTERS AND CIVIL SERVANTS WHO HAD A HAND IN THE MURDERS OF INNOCENT VULNERABLE BRITISH PEOPLE!

Once I finally got a call from the right one they basically brushed over the bigger issue of UC which I wrote about in my complaint and were just talking about upskilling staff and it was bad timing with the UC roll out. They also called me the next week to ask if I was happy with the solution! I said no, and they basically said there's nothing they can do about it. I haven't written to my MP yet

    A good video!
There are many comments condemning the host - entitled, scrounger, etc etc. However, the video is more about the process of claiming UC and the utter mess that it has created.
First of all, let's get one thing straight: The whole idea of Social Security is to offer a safety net when needed. You pay into the system, and should you fall on hard times the system is there to offer help, guidance and a period of relative financial stability. UC has taken that core basis and twisted it into a one size fits all, tick box exercise. The whole system has been set up for you to fail.

You poor love 💕 that’s where being honest gets you. This system punishes the good people who really need help and benefits those who are able to lie and cheat with credibility.
I’m over 60 and I’m truthfully unable to work anymore due to health issues. I’m on my own, no family to support me and I’m scared about the future.
What do the DWP have to say?
That I’m quite capable of working and don’t meet the criteria for benefits!!
I know I’m one of many, and it leaves me in despair. What a cruel system run by scumbags for scumbags 😡😡😡

This is not new. My experience has been exactly the same everywhere, whether this was with the job center when I had to apply for benefits 21 years ago due to circumstances beyond my control, whether this is with the NHS, doctors, the council, police, any other government agency - same everywhere. One gets messed about, told lies left right and center, accused of not having provided documents that one has provided, evidence conveniently "goes missing", one gets accused of not being who one is etc etc. And payments of benefits get stopped all the time - oh gosh yes, the job center at the time regularly accused me of having moved to London and then back a week later (I'm in Staffordshire) - as if any sane person would constantly move to London and then back after one week!
I got treated like absolute trash, treated as if I were stupid and retarded. The job center sent me on basic skills courses - to learn how to read the clock, go shopping and spell my own name. Just what I needed of course with degrees in business management, business law, accountancy, economics etc etc... But the job center refused to acknowledge my degrees and recorded me as having "no qualifications".
I'm now being bullied out if my current job that I've had for 17 years and it's so serious that I don't stand a chance against the massive corporation that is still my employer, so it will be back on benefits for me. I know I won't survive this for long. I got a weak heart now from all the abuse I had to survive, and to now have to go through yet more abuse will be too much for me. I've been trying to emotionally prepare myself for the fact that my life is coming to an end but I can't help but feel sad and this sense of extreme injustice that all these decades of fighting for survival have been for nothing.
And now they still win because this system will most likely be the end of me.

I understand people that judge UC claimants I used to. I was made unemployed, lost my home. Wasn't in a good place, being homeless has made it near impossible to find work of course, after 9 months the council had just agreed to loan me a deposit for a room and UC housing benefit to cover 70% of the room cost leaving me with about £35 to live on which I will have to get on with, there is work in the place I was going to move to. I had to rearrange my previous UC appointment to see the council. Just found out they decided to sanction me for failure to attend the appointment cutting the benefit in half for the payment I was moving in with. I've just had to turn down the room as now won't be able to afford it and remain homeless. Im not a stupid guy, I have a masters degree and have worked hard all my life and don't have people to rely on for help. This is genuinely the way they treat people. Its such a sad situation for the the lowest in our society. I could not believe how they are treating people until I was in this situation myself. I can deal with it I'll get back on my feet somehow but for others that maybe even in a worse situation I dread to think what its doing to them, it makes you very angry.

Mind-blown to the core.... I would actually apply to whatever it is that they have advised on that letter and get the benefits that you've been paying for with your taxes as you well said. Don't lose sleep over it and don't lose job interviews, but do it. It's yours and you've worked for it. I hate people taking advantage, in general, about anything, but I hate injustice just as much and a government agency that denies you an unemployed benefit just because you just moved in with your boyfriend and they want you to be dependent on him sounds crazy to me.. for so many reasons. Like being penalized because you saved some money every month while working and rewarding people that spent it all at the pub. And this makes me understand why some honest people cheats the system. FUMING!!!!

Thank you for being so candid and honest about your experience. I’m in the process of it all now and it’s such a silly way of doing things. If in any job I’ve had I allowed things to be as delayed and unnecessary laboured the way it is I’d lose that job or be told to change how I’m doing things. My husband and I do qualify for benefits under this system than the old one which is interesting, plus my job coach has been really supportive which is a welcome surprise. But the wait for payments is brutal and the not knowing amounts doesn’t help either. Like you I’ve worked for years and paid in, so you’d think during a gap in employment there would be a system that’ works for everyone. Sorry rambling, thanks again going to check out your other vids x

People will end up starving to death soon rather than ask for any type of benefit. It makes no sense that migrants can get £37.50 per head in each house hold, and you would get nothing, when you have contributed? You pay taxes singularly from your boyfriend so, you should get something to support yourself. Universal credit, is a universal mess! its making the poor into victims, without a voice.

Nope, the UC is not there for anyone. Me and my husband have 4 children aged between 16yrs and 3yrs. I said my husband is self employed and is earning a good amount and I've been looking after my kids so fter theyre ll in full time school I can work. But the work coach just doesn't care, I said I got no experience as ive just been a mum since my parents got me married off so early, only did gcse. They were like ok your a mum, so you could do cleaning, we will find some hotels for you to clean, but I got a 3 Yr old I need to look after too and a 12yr old and 10yr old, they just said oh well get your mum to look after him, I said my mum is quite old and he's very energetic. So they said oh well then we can organise childcare for you so can work. And since you said you drive we can e en get you a job in stevenage as thats not on a motorway as you said you don't drive on motorways. And the fact my husband does work, was like oh we not looking at his work now, that's his work, we need to see what work your doing, basically giving me and husband a divorce from finances, as if we don't look after our house together. Nd as if we share no children. It's ultimately a heartless benefit system that cares for no human at all. it's horrible. I hate that the new government is putting so many people through so much hardships. Not helping anyone at all anymore.

an "apology" letter and £50 award "to reflect the gross inconvenience you have suffered as a result of the mistakes made by the department"
NOT an apology from the department that made the mistakes but on their behalf!!
And the stoopid thing is, they are STILL taking the money from me and the mistakes continue!!
They think im gonna take £50 and be silenced!!
"we are sorry that the UC is completely out of control, heres £50, no be quiet and go away".....
    No chance!!!
I need a solicitor with some Cohones!!
Its a blatent attempt to cover up actually how far out of control the Universal Credit is!! Even the DWP themselves cannot stop the UC from doing what they doing!!
But if i try to expose this, nobody is interested!! Not the media, not the council, not DWP and even my MP is doing very little to help me!!

I pay 800 rent (cheapest in town) + 200 council tax + el, water... I wouldnt get over a grand to cover my basic expenses if I couldnt work, would I? People complain about it but I cant find how much (little) the UC actually is and what expenses it covers.

If you have enough National Insurance payments can't you apply for contributions based JSA? If you do not want to pay tax then see an accountant, they will tell you how to set up a shell company in Grand Cayman and instead of being paid as an employee your money is paid to the company from which you pay yourself. You will not be entitled to sick pay, maternity pay, unemployment benefit or a state pension. On which point I will say that by not signing on currently you will not be getting National Insurance credits, which you would otherwise get.
