Fun looking kit Doug. Good way for someone to get their start on building kits. Thanks for your thoughts

Thanks Lloyd. As I said, it is much better than most Chinese radio kits, but it could be even better. :)

Good stuff my friend. I like building these little kits. Helps keep my soldering skills intact.

Nice little kit. That one part, SFU455, is actually a 455kHz ceramic filter. And, from experience, yes, it won't work if you don't get all those darn jumpers connected! 😋

Well, it made noise, but that was about it. I knew about the jumpers, but just wanted to see if it made noise and it did, even with the volume control in wrong. LOL Thanks Bob. :)

Thanks Tim. It is a far cry from other Chinese radio kits, but unless I misread some stuff, they could be more clear on some things in that huge fold out manual. :)

Yes we all need a break. Nicely designed kit , a teaching product. See you on the next video. Leo

Thanks Leo. I think there may be a bias adjustment, which is why those circuit breaks are there, Still have not completely read the manual. LOL I hate reading. :(

Hi Doug, I trust that you have enjoyed this biuld process as much as I have, so far you have a done a great job. You are correct when you said the traces are very close together, that is one problem I had. I will send you a number of pictures of my project. I am looking forward to part 2, have a great weekend, and by careful....):

Thanks Daniel. Really no problems so far except for the confusing way the volume control is mounted. I am looking forward to your pictures. :)

Now you need the SMD kit :) I have been looking for one.. no luck yet

Thanks Ron. What kind of kit are you looking for? An SMD radio kit? No real hurry on me getting the practice kit, it will be awhile before I'm ready for it. :)

That's a nice looking kit radio, the volume connection to the board is different.

Thanks Jim. It was pretty clean once I read the instructions, but what they don't really tell you is it can fit one of two ways. Of course I would have to choose the wrong way first. LOL

Thanks George. For awhile there BDEK was thinking about selling a similar kit, but not sure how much demand there would be for it. The BDST is selling pretty well so who knows. :)

Hello Doug, that is a neat little kit. I'm sure you will get it sorted out in part II. All is good on the cell phone music front now, thanks for the information. Regards, Dave

Good job on the radio kit, I think you got the volume control mounted on the wrong side of the board.

Thanks Bill, and you are kinda sorta right. It fits either way so it was a bit confusing. I have it switched around now. :)

Thanks DB, but no need for name calling. LOL Would be a pretty dull world if we all liked the same things. :)

Oscillator coil will never be on ferrite rod, otherwise your radio becomes low power transmitter.
