I've been watching painting channels for years but must say it took your video where you said stop watching videos and start painting got me going! I'd never even thought of trying it myself! I'm not great but i love doing it! Thank you❤
That is awesome!
This is the second time I've watched this! Really gorgeous colors! That Metallic Leaf Green is one of my absolute favorites, but the Arteza green is SOOO pretty 😍 great job, david!
Thank you so much Alexandria. Did you see the dried result on my community page?
Beautiful painting, David. Arteza’s metallic paints are among my favorites, particularly the Copper Gold! I had to make a cheat sheet of the color names since they only seem to be listing the color numbers on their tubes anymore! I haven’t done a peacock-inspired pour in a while. After having watched this, I might need to revisit that idea! 🐻
Yeah, I need to write them on the tubes just for my easy reference.
Your videos get me motivated to do more pour painting! 😊
Go for it Carol.
I love this piece and the inspiration for the choice of the color. 🥰💯
Thanks so much Carol.
That's a real beauty David! I love Arteza paints and you've really done them justice.👍
Thanks so much Dave.
Gorgeous colors ! Very nice work,David ! Love your t shirt 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much!
Absolutely gorgeous! I think she will love it
I think so too Mary.
Beautiful colors! Masterful job stretching such a big canvas.
Thanks Tara. I do with the gold and copper gold came out more.
Wonderful result. It reminds me of the Earth s surface.😊
I hadn't thought of that but it totally does Daisy.
It came out beautiful! Gorgeous colors together!❤
Thanks Irene.
Hi David, you have inspired me to broaden my horizon with acrylic pouring! So much fun. The "you can do this" video pulled me over the START line. I started with 4x4 tiles...30 of them, and now I'm stepping up to 10 inch tiles. Like you said, do at least 10 practice pours before you take on something new! Thank you for your videos.
Wonderful! I'd love to see some of your work.
@@LeftBrainedArtist I would love to send you some pictures 😁, as soon as I can figure out how.

Beautiful colors and composition! ❤
Thank you so much Lori.
The colors are gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the dry results!!
Me too Marion!
This is a really great piece, David! It’s been a really long time since I’ve done a straight pour but you may have inspired me! Great work 👏🏻
Thanks Tony. I do love straight pours.
Beautiful painting thanks for sharing❤
Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful David! ❤
Thank you very much Natalie.
Very beautiful David!
Thanks so much Diane.
A brilliant result, your SIL should be happy. The colours work really well together. Love your shirt today too, sums up my life. Thanks David.
Fingers crossed!
I know your SIL will be in love with this. I've started pouring after a 4 month hiatus and find tilting really needs some toned arms. Gotta get those barbells out.
I know right? This one was really heavy at the end.
Stunning! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome Nancy.
It’s definitely peacock feathers. Well done
Thanks so much.
So so nice good job ❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous!❤❤❤
Thank you Karin! 😊
I've started buying paint already mixed. You can buy them here in the U.K. fairly cheap. Separately or in sets with everything included.
If you have the budget for the price different that is an excellent way to go.
Love your shirt lol
Thanks! 99% of my T-Shirts have sarcastic comments on them.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Love it!
Carmen
Thanks Carmen.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
C'est magnifique bravo 😊❤
Thanks!
I’ve missed you!
Aw, thanks my friend.
This turned out beautiful! I haven't been notified about your channel in a while. Do you prefer using glue over Floetrol? I started to do acrylic pouring and it never worked out. My consistency was always runny and clumpy somehow, so I gave up lol. But I really want to learn.
Depends on what I am doing. In this case I didn't want tiny cells so I chose glue instead of floetrol.
Amazing
Thanks Olga.
@@LeftBrainedArtistyou're welcome. I'm loving this technique and willing to learn more about it and put in practice for having my own ideas and experiences for my future sales journey.
Beautiful painting . Have you ever put a resin top coat on a painting that size?
Not that size no. Most pours on canvas, especially ones that will be hung on a wall, I don't resin as they get way too much glare.
What did you use to block that first corner? Is it just a piece of paper? That's brilliant and I never thought to do that before!
Cardboard. Need a bit of body to hold it well.
When you say it will need 35 oz of paint, you mean after mixing with the pouring medium right? Is the equation you’re using to calculate square ft coverage how much paint combined with medium you’d need? Or that’s how much paint and then you will need to mix with medium?
Yes, those are all combined medium/paint/water Evan. So if I use 1 ounce of paint, 1 ounce of medium and .5 oz of water that would be 2.5 ounces of mixed paint and that would go toward my total "paint" I need for the pour.
Like your shirt❤
Thanks Veronika.
Gorgeous! I love the way the colors play off each other! I know how to figure out the amount of paint for a square or rectangular canvas. How do you figure it out for a round canvas?
@LeftBrainedArtist's website has calculations for round/oval, hexagon, and triangles. (You don't need much tweaking for a heart.) I keep a tab open with the link to that page of his site whenever I'm mixing.
leftbrainedartist.com/acrylic-pour-paint-calculator/
My calculator has the choice for round and oval too.
@@LeftBrainedArtist thank you
So beautiful ❤I’d love to see the dried results. Will you resin or varnish it ?
Probably varnish. Going to be hung in a living room and resin has too much of a glare with tons of light.
Can you pour over old pours? Do you need to make sure the old pour has dried properly. I find using glue always drys matt.
Absolutely you can pour over a pour. On the Matte issue I would just add a top coat. I do that no matter what on paintings I want to keep and I usually use a gloss or satin finish to give back the wet-look luster.
I guess, I thought, I would see a peacock? Is this the first part? Or did you only make a painting with the peacock colors? I am confused. But lovely color choices.
Peacock colors Helena.
It’s an acrylic pour painting with peacock colors. Not a peacock painting. 😊
Do you like the Arteza tube paints? I used some of their ready to pour paints and loved the colors. I tried a couple of Dutch pours with some of their iridescent colors ,but the iridescent colors broke up a little. Any suggestions to keep that from happening?
I haven't used their ready to pour paint. I have used the tube paints quite a bit and I love those. For the flocculation (colors breaking up) you can use a tiny bit of a professional pouring medium like liquitex or GAC 800 to help give it some more stability. Like 1/10 or less. I use like a teaspoon per 2 ounces or so.
Beautiful David 💙🦚I haven’t tried anything as of yet! But I did order the 2 box sets of M.M. And in the process of making my own turntable & spin box. I may have a few questions if you have time. I was wondering if I can premix my floetrol & wht titanium in a 1 litre bottle & store it when I’m ready to use it, same goes with the oxide blk. Is there a shelf life when mixed in advance?
if you add water the shelf life goes way down. But the purer the water the more time you can store them. th-cam.com/video/j3DB7OQyHa8/w-d-xo.html
Sorry David, I understand about the water & have purchased distilled but I was referring about the floetrol once mixed…@@LeftBrainedArtist
@@user-hu1hl6id8c Oh, that is essentially paint and will last for months.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Geiselle.
I went on their website too but only got 10%….sigh
Yeah, it was a big deal a few months ago. Sign up for the email and something bigger will come up.
I wanted to see it dry 😩 😂
I will put it out on the community tab next week.
@@LeftBrainedArtist Thank you 😊 I was being a brat lol
@@RandiG63 I am not bothered at all. I rarely have videos planned out more than a week in advance so I don't have dry results mostly.
Beautiful!
Thank you Hanah.
