    Thank you for this video!!! I was trying to explain this type of frame to my husband, but wasn't articulating it properly. Then your video shows up in my TH-cam feed a few hours later...of course! It's one of the rare times I'm glad the internet wizards were listening. 😄

    instead you can use black mat or paint masonite black and attach the at back of the frame much cheaper

      Hi Dallas, these seem like reasonable ideas. We do worry that the mat board won't be strong enough, especially for larger pieces. The wood that I put around back is not that expensive, and unlike masonite it has a nice finished edge. Thanks for watching!

      @dallasschauer I give a 2 year late second to what you say. Could just get a standard size, pre-cut MDF board and save on the cutting part as well for non-carpenter types like me. Nevertheless, all thanks to @gallerysevenmaynard for the video clip!
