Overall this was a good review, but being a long time S-Class owner and car enthusiast, I can tell you that there is no other car I would want under my rear end. I disagree with the authors comments that this is not a driver's car, because everything about it gives me the best Driving Experience I have ever had. And believe you me I have owned a very long list of very good cars. Something that wasn't touched on very much was safety, and you will not find a more safe car either preventatively or should a collision occur. Perhaps one other area that the author missed was the fact that when you get out on the highway you own it! This thing will jump from 60 miles an hour to a hundred miles an hour in a wink, and back down again just as quickly. Everything about an S-class is designed with the driver experience in mind. I have yet to actually meet anyone that gets chauffeured around in one! That's kind of the point of view of someone who doesn't normally Drive one.

I will agree as there is no AMG version yet available (which is why the S580 has a sport mode). It is not meant to be a canyon carver or to compete with a Hellcat at the stoplight, but the extra sportiness is there for those that want it. It is performance that is tastefully done without spoiling the vehicle's poise or character. Think Bentley. As an S-Class AMG owner, these cars will outright frighten people with its acceleration and the ability to keep going effortlessly at triple-digit speeds. The Maybach version has far more back seat accoutrements and is suited to those who prefer to be chauffeured.

I'm catching this video a year after. But I disagree with you. In my garage right now is a Range Rover Sport, an S550, and in my driveway is a BMW 740i. When I want a drivers car, my S Class honestly can't do for me what my 740i does. The 740i naturally wants to be driven. I can't help but smile when I'm driving it. I can get my S550 to drive sporty, but I have to drive it sporty, and it never feels like that's what it wants to do. The 7 Series does Sport and Luxury very well, but the S Class is best at luxury and kind of gives in to, "Ok, I'll be sporty if you want me to."
The Rover Sport! Now that's a whole other laugh out loud ball of fun. 😂

Thanks , this new W223 is a step down from my previous W222. Both exterior & interior. Park the older W222 next to this and you will see what I mean. Sit inside both and feel the cheap plastic behind the steering wheel of new w223. The only Benz worth getting these days is the G63 and the new SL55/63.

Yes you can! The S class has intelligent voice control :) It worked very well!

That Ipad inside the cabin is horrendous. Did they copy it from Tesla or vice versa?

I have 2021 S580 and there is a current problem with this car. The major issue with this car is the brake lockups sometimes when parking. You have to press harder on the gas pedal to be able to move the car. If you parked the car in parallel, good luck.

Good review. Constructive criticism: I think you could slow down your speech quite a bit (you seem nervous) and stop saying “right” all the time (I lost count). These are reviews where people may have no knowledge of the product you’re reviewing so saying “right” could be interpreted as condescending. Many people use this technique in conversation where they are attempting to persuade someone who possibly has some knowledge of a subject but this is more purely informational.

Saying "right" doesn't come off as condescending. You sound overly sensitive lol

You shouldn’t need buttons because for what it costs you should be able to tell the car what setting to adjust the air heat. As a matter of fact the car should give BJS

I still think the W222 looks better; the front end looks bloated and cartoonish, the rear end looks like it was lifted from a Hyundai and the interior looks like it belongs in a Tesla. The S-Class is a technological showpiece, but is to be wrapped in a traditional luxury motif which would appeal to the target demographic [50+ senior executives, attorneys, business owners and public figures]. They have the A-Class and the C-Class for the younger crowd.
