Recently I came across a Blackmagic Studio 4K G2 that I plan on using for travel. Its light, compact, and powerful, but it also has some things to think about before diving into owning one for yourself.
Shimbol has a recording touch screen monitor that will give you the option to play back your clips. I'm currently using the Hollyland Mars M1 Enhanced but it cost $499 brand new and the shimbol is $269.
awesome video! thank you! would love to hear more thoughts after youre using it for a while. Btw you can change the gain to be displayed as iso like on the pocket 4k. dual natives are the same on both of them. keep up the good work!
How is this better for travel than your BMPCC 4K that you already have? It's lighter, yes. But with all those cables sticking out of it + handle + monitor it's not smaller footprint. Also it's not very fun or convenient to use outside the studio.
Good question - I’m pairing this with my Canon R5 for travel. I could take just one but I want to see if I can make it work. Maybe I’ll do a video of a side by side for my final build.
Your B-Roll looks great, especially of the cat. You should get a cage for it.
Thanks for the feedback! Thinking about it.

also stoked to see some 4kg2 tokio footage! :)
Yes would love updates 👍
Interesting use case for the G2. Reminds me of how I initially used the og bmpcc. Looking forward to seeing how your journey with the camera goes
Thank you!

I got a xlcr Cage for mine.
What do you think? Is it worth $170?
@@rockobitterman8993 it’s worth, check out my community section I have a picture of it in a top down position when I’m streaming.
Music too loud
mic not loud enough
Too much noise from mic
Thanks for the feedback!
I need to make a little video of mine. I rigged one out. Mic jack sucks is the only thing I’ve noticed so far.
That’s one thing I haven’t tested - I have separate audio recorders (Rode, Zoom, etc) that I would record audio to. The internal mics aren’t great.
