@@sendthis9480 I'd suppose that's because a one armed person has much more strength and dexterity in one arm than the average person. Those traits are usually shared between both sides of the brain, even though there still is that right handed/left handed preference, so a one arm or one handed person could have the advantage of naturally focusing 100% of it on one side
@@sendthis9480 you're telling me that you'd rather hire a guy with 1 arm to train in combat, shooting, etc., than a man with 2 arms? I'm sorry but where's the logic here? The set of skills taught at the academy would almost be entirely useless to this guy, and they barely get enough training as it is. This guy might feel he needs to prove himself as a cop so maybe he's taken personal time to practice techniques that work for him and maybe received specialty training. Most wouldn't do this though. People typically join the academy for work, or they join for the right reasons and get lost along the way. The pay isn't reasonable enough for them to be these noble hero's we expect them to be. I'd worry about this guy's safety. I doubt he could make an arrest alone with a grown man actively resisting him.

I’d love to speak to that one armed officer. As someone with a disability no matter what job you choose to do it’s awesome to know that having a limitation doesn’t limit you to what you want to do
There is a limit though. Law enforcement is a demanding job, some things just cannot be "accepted" even if it is a disability. I have a disability that will prevent me from joining a law enforcement agency, which is something I always wanted to do. But I understand that because of the nature of the job, not everyone who has a disability can do that kind of work. But kudos to the officer with one arm, really inspiring.

Actually, knew a man who had one arm and he could not get hired to a higher position with Bright House because of it. When he could most likely do the job. Wonderful news piece. Made my day.
Looking at the one-armed police officer, I was confused at first why their taser was still holstered on their left side (of which no hand to wield it), but then I realized that it's reverse holstered, so they're able to effectively grab it with their right hand if need be. That's very smart and allows the policeman to perform their duty effectively regardless of impairment. Massive respect to all involved, both officers who ran in that strong heat after a suspect, the security guy who assisted the fatigued officer with a ride, and the one-armed man who succeeded in catching and subduing the suspect. All of these awesome and deserve all the praise and respect they're given.
I believe a lot of the police officers wear them that way, because that’s how they’re sure they’re pulling out their taser, not their firearm. Mistakes have happened before, and making someone reach across their body breaks the instinct of reaching for their gun. Tons of respect for the officer, working hard with what he’s got.

Exactly my thoughts. If the suspect has a gun, there's certainly some chance he gets hurt. Seems like it was just the right guy for the job, who probably didn't want the first officer to be taking that risk entirely on their own.

I actually did roofing for a while with a guy who only had one hand. the other was a nub but he was probably the hardest working guy I ever met. in fact he did his job better than the other guys with both hands. never let a disability stop you from doing what you do
I doubt people often think helpless if the person only has one limb missing. Two hands or arms missing obviously creates a bit more concern. There are obvious levels of accessibility issues and I believe most people understand this. There will always be inconsiderate jerks everywhere, they don't represent the majority.
While I know people missing limbs can do some amazing things, I wouldn't say that a person can do anything if they believe they can. If I believe that I can be the next Shawn Mendes that won't be enough to make it happen hahaha. Practice, hard work, and perseverance. Although nothing can fix my larger-than-average gut and atrocious singing voice.
I'm actually trying to imagine getting pinned and cuffed by someone with one arm. What a complete pleb, lol. Meanwhile, there's the video of the guy choking out two fully abled cops at the same time, one arm on each of their throats.
He's definitely at a higher risk of stuff going wrong. When a criminal realizes he only has one arm, they're more likely to resist, thinking they have a better chance of getting away.

This guy might feel he needs to prove himself as a cop so maybe he's taken personal time to practice techniques that work for him and maybe received specialty training. Most wouldn't do this though.

I was born with one arm, just like this officer. When I was 18, I tried to enlist to the Army and Marines but they said I cant. I tried with the LAPD and they also said that I couldn't. The world sure has changed.
No offense meant, what is it like reloading a firearm with one hand. Shooting with only one hand must be difficult as well. Much respect for trying to enlist with only one arm, just genuinely curious to what it is like.

Hi.
The driver wasn't wearing his seat belt 🤣🤣
The police officer with a partial limb on one of his arms is super amazing and super inspiring! He is working and running after a criminal. This man should be an example to people who have 2 full arms but they are lazy or holding a sign asking for money with 2 arms. This officer is a reminder that we can still do great things despite our circumstances. Some people are complaining about challenges that are not really an issue or creating their storm then complain when it rains. Great job to the civilian who offered the other officer a ride to help out. This is what I would consider great community policing.
It must be a nice feeling as an officer, to know that the people that you protect and serve have your back.
This is such a sweet news story, you never find many of these without people wanting popularity out of them anymore ♡
"you never find many of these without people wanting popularity out of them anymore" that's because the police PR team is trying to make people forget that the same state's was responsible for killing 19 people.

BRO the one-armed cop put in some work!!
I knew a one legged cop but this is taking it to a new level.
You've heard of the one arm bandit. Now meet the one arm cop
Speaking from the experience of having a family member with one arm, nothing stops them! People often look at others with missing limbs and think they’re helpless or feel uncomfortable around them. So many misconceptions!!! That’s Trust me, it’s all in what you believe you can do!!! I’m so proud of this officer!!! I’m so proud of my family member, who is the strongest, most inspirational person I know!!! 🙏🏻💜
Well many people (not me) think that If they will make people missing a limb upset if they use that limb in front of them like showing them how well they can do something i guess?
I actually did roofing for a while with a guy who only had one hand. the other was a nub but he was probably the hardest working guy I ever met. in fact he did his job better than the other guys with both hands. never let a disability stop you from doing what you do
I don’t feel awkward by them I feel inspired but I feel like I’d make them uncomfortable if I asked about anything
Way more impressed with the fact he's got one arm. Could you imagine trying to handcuff someone thats resisting you, and you have one arm? Crazy
Meanwhile the military rejects people over Small shit lol
I'm actually trying to imagine getting pinned and cuffed by someone with one arm. What a complete pleb, lol. Meanwhile, there's the video of the guy choking out two fully abled cops at the same time, one arm on each of their throats.
He's definitely at a higher risk of stuff going wrong. When a criminal realizes he only has one arm, they're more likely to resist, thinking they have a better chance of getting away.
