    This man has wisdom, truth and passion for the betterment of the black community. Wish they would play his message to those asleep in jail. Maybe then some of them would wake up.

    I have never heard the truth before this moment. To listen to this man is to register the quietest places of my spirit that I never knew existed. Dick Gregory is the physical incarnation of inspiration, catharsis, intelligence, and redemption. He, like many of my heroes, not only gives the priceless, visceral spirit of black folks back to those who have been robbed, but as a white woman bearing witness, I am saved by some unknown hand for hearing it.

    Yes Sir, say it to as it is. If you went to buy a soda drink Dr. Pepper and you said "can I have pepper", you'll be given chilli pepper.
    That's very right.
    You got to say, can I have Dr. pepper.
    What he was saying was that, don't accept when you are being be littled by others. Allow yourself to be addressed properly by your tittle.
    Thank you Papa Dick Gregory.
    Well done!

    What a great mind, what a wisdom,what a conscience.. a multicolored one for real.
    just feel adressed and you might get a bit of decency u.s.america.
    I mean i never heard a better parable, i never did.
    "you never cleaned up the filth over 400 years.you
    just put a new suit on and then wonder who is stinking."
    and i´m a mixed one from germany and i feel him so much.
    Due to that simple and deep truth we ought to not never
    accept the u.s. as some kind of a worldwide police or conscience.
    Think!!

    As fire (heat) is the direct cause of cooking, so knowledge and not any other form of discipline, is the direct cause of liberation; for liberation cannot be attained without knowledge...Action cannot destroy ignorance, for it is not in conflict with ignorance. Know-ledge alone destroys ignorance, as light destroys dense darkness.

    @janetlee08 ur saying its better to ignore these issues and let them just die down... i'm Black. I was one of 5 Black students in my high school during my senior year. I turned in a project once, stayed up entire nights... I got 98%. Really an outstanding grade. My teacher loved it. But before I turned it in, ANOTHER student looked at my work and copied a great deal of it, almost identically... he scored 100%.

    I feel u. But i believe that alot of the problems facing blacks is due to our failure 2 unite. Why should black men and black women constantly be in competition? Why can't we just acknowledge each other's struggles and help each other thru them rather than saying 'we go through more than u go through'?

  • @godswiph
    @godswiph 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @janetlee08 The story I just told you, probably didn't sound like much to you. No big deal, right? Well... that shit killed me. That happened almost a decade ago. I still think about it. The issues they're talking about here are WAY more heavy. If my little story affected me so deeply, could you imagine what these stories mean. If not, I guess I envy you a bit. You'll never have to know or understand what it actually means to be Black in America.

    TUPAC SPOKE FOR BLACK WOMEN!

  • @Biafrans7
    @Biafrans7 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    White America keep running around the issues of slavery in an unending evasion bid, but it is right there at the core being of this nation. They should encourage the federal government to talk with Black folks on how to officially heal the festering historical wounds of 350-year oppression, not defending the indefensible. Yes you did not enslave anyone but benefited immensely from its legacy even inadvertently. This is not about hate but the hypocrisy in pretense over the obvious.

    I truly hope that if the world and humanity were destroyed and restored millions of years later that some history about the legacy of racism will somehow survive and be discovered and future humanity will learn from this history and NEVER enact this horrible system of judgment/discrimination upon people on the basis of the color of their skin. The world would be a better place without it.

    @StanHowser. Are you referring to the hip hop culture currently shaped by a majority of white corporate media executives, the tv/radio that has been known to host racist/sexist/capitalistic ideas of patriarchal (controlled by white male society) dominance, the constant dedication to prosper against people like you who think the hard work for black people is finding the job, or the manhood that fashions anger as a proper way to express white patriarchal masculinity? Who's fault is it again?
