    What's to complain about? There's only a few reasons you buy and keep any 4wd. It has to be comfortable.. check! It has to be reliable...check! It has to be capable off-road...check!
    Not to mention it's cheaper than its rival LandCruiser. More powerful. And better on fuel consumption when towing (only 200 series).
    Who's cares if it has outdated tech and infotainment. Go buy a Lexus or Tesla if you want futuristic

  • @Kiwi_Dave

    Aftermarket you can black out the wood, replace the Centre console with larger infotainment screen even add an all digital instrument cluster. And still have 30k left over for Gas that you saved on buying a Landcruiser.

    I would understand if it's was a new model and they are just testing markets, but Nissan know they the patrol has always been popular in Australia for decades. It's a real kick in the teeth for them to treat us like second class customers.

    It's a great vehicle for its intended purpose. Right up there for towing... but I just couldn't get over the lack of tech and aged details. It's a real shame it didn't get the full refresh a few years ago. Toyota is now setting the market with its inflated prices, the Patrol has crept up a hood $25k with no effort put in at all 😞

    The fact is most of us 4wheel drive buyers who use them as a heavy tow vehicle or on a farm like traditional. We like switches and buttons not fumbling through stupid screens while the vehicle is bouncing around. The 70 series cruiser is proof of this. The Patrol in comparison is a luxury space ship. If it works don't change it. The Patrol has been a great reliable competent vehicle. And they are still selling well.

    Have just finished driving a 2022 S5 y62 patrol around Australia towing a caravan. I both love and hate this car, but mostly love it. I don't think I could have picked a better touring and towing rig. So much grunt, pretty great economy considering I'm 7t all up, exceptional 4wd offroad capabilities and yes roomy and comfy. The tech is absolutely horrible though and does my head in every single day. You have to click OK every day to accept some stupid agreement on the infotainment screen, maps are garbage, audio and other controls are all garbage, clunky and confusing. But it's a super tough car and I still think I picked the perfect car for our kind of trip. We felt so safe and capable at all times in this big rig. They really need to fix the interior and the tech. Maybe I'd buy a new one if they did that.

    Unless we're talking solid axle 4wds all these newer 4wds whether they be Toyota, Nissan, isuzu, Ford etc are all more or less the same save for some towing capabilities.
    However I wouldn't be touching a newer diesel 4wd unless I planned to rip out the EGR and DPF because there's no point owning a diesel that's got a sock stuffed down its throat that'll clog up in a couple thousand km's.

The patrol shits over the cruiser for rear leg room and rear luggage with 3rd row seats up. The cruiser is still a slug compared to the patrol, and the cruiser is 50k more for the shit the cruiser has, I’d still prefer to spend 3k if I wanted and update the patrols head unit and Speedo cluster as already mentioned. Already troubles with the cruiser with injectors and engines stuttering while towing heavy loads. Each to their own but no way in hell a 300 series is worth 50k more then a patrol. I used that 50k and put towards a new merc for the wife which has also been faultless so far like the patrol has been. That is the first thing I noticed a year or so ago is the interior for the face lifted Patrol in Australia according to videos of the many Auzzie off road enthusiasts. It’s not about re tooling, there’s plenty of world wide choice available in LHD, sadly Australia being one of very few countries who use RHD, we are at the mercy of manufacturers and the expensive prices for cars. More choice means more competition means cheaper prices. Australia just needs to allow left hand drive vehicles to be registered In Australia and we would not be the dumping ground for out of date tech in vehicles.

    I've got the 2018 Ti-L with over 400,000 Km on it by now. The V8 is perfect for towing and cruising and is very well worn in. Perfect for cruising the highways and boulevards, when not under strict armed lockdown and suppression of civil liberties and commerce, of the Totalitarian, Marxist paradise of Danistan. This beauty should be a hit in Communist Canada and irrelevant little New Zealand too, where they have totally lost their tiny minds. And they all voted for the disasters that now befall them. • @johncanalese588
      @johncanalese588 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, the HBMC system as engineered in the Patrol, is a "passive" system. It is classified as "passive" because it does not rely on electric or engine driven pumps to pressurise and control the system. It uses nitrogen charged reservoirs and accumulators in the the hydraulic circuits to counter vehicle lean through corners and then allows for full independant wheel articulation over bumps and moguls when off-road. It is a superior system to the active eKDSS in the Toyota LC300 IMHO.

    • @tempestv8

I'm personally over the Toyota tax compounded by supply demand issues which they're playing a game with. I was looking at the Patrol for my landcruiser replacement but new everest is now more compelling as I don't tow 3.5T and prefer the fuel efficiency of the Ford V6 diesel compared to the Patrol V8. Mate, you clearly didn't do your homework or drive the Y62 long enough to experience, learn and appreciate how the HBMC system works. The 3T beast does NOT lean or wallow any where near you'd expect it to. When you get enough drive time you will notice an initial lean into a corner then the vehicle will stay flat as the far side HMBC linked dampers load-up under weight load. It is kinda weird at first because you expect the car to keep rolling over - but it doesn't. It is a far superior system to Toyota's eKDSS IMHO and being fully passive should ultimately be more reliable. yes, I own a MY22 Y62 Ti for last 3 months.

    Dumbest description ever. Landcruisers annoying cousin? The Patrol is arguably better even though it´s still on the 15year old platform. And much cheaper as well.

    It wouldn’t matter if Nissan actually brought out a decent car that was superior to the competition. I would never ever own another Nissan (yes I have owned several) as long as I live. Nissan are the most reprehensible bunch of liars I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They might as well advertise the fact that they might as well offer no warranty as they argue every single claim and screw you around for years on end. The final solution for me was to sell all three of the pieces of crap and buy different brands. Never ever again!
