We used to have that also in the Philippines (in my community) but it disappeared because the ponds where the lotus grows were filled and constructed with buildings. Indeed it is best harvested in monsoon season because it produces more sap and it's more stronger and not in hot season and the sap that it produces is brittle.
@Sir Vaugh i never focus on brand. But more on quality. Gucci uses top grain which is not as good as full grain. I feel like you are paying more for the brand than the material. I do like italian dress shoes like acemarks they arent too expensive in the 250$ range.
yes, because buddhism is national religion of Vietnam even it does not show in high stats but most of people do pratice Buddhist. And Lotus is one of icon of buddhist
A lot of people want a good lifestyle , but the way they spend can't see them getting that lifestyle anytime soon , the rich invests more and spends less
I have always wanted to invest in Bitcoin but I'm very inexperienced, I even watched some videos yet still difficult to understand. I'm so much In need of an expert..
I thought that your video was very interesting. I would love to take a class or even tour a place where they are making these fabrics. What a brilliant woman to think of this is, & what a wonderful way to use a natural & gorgeous resource!! Thank you.
It's just that compared to silk , it's harder to pull silk. The remaining lotus silk has an easier job than silk. Silkworms are difficult to take care of, need mulberry fields and clean them regularly.
Actually , all of these things known as " LUXURIES" are in fact free. The only thing is that some find it and market it at a price. Remember , " The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the Poor. " This the real Richest are the Poor itself.
I thght somewhre u will talk abt Manipur lotus silk too since u use some videos of Manipur lotus silk worker videos.....it was recently strted by a young Manipuri lady here too in Manipur (India).
Hi! Could the Ministry of Science and Technology help with modernizing their weaving equipment too? They work with it seems very old equipment. I suppose that department is of the Vietnamese government and maybe very limited funds. Do they ever blend lotus silk with Cashmere wool?
I'm hoping to make my own lotus silk in Hawaii as a fiber artist. I found a source of lotus but could use a more instructional video on how to process it. Though I think I have a basic understanding & can figure it out from that
Lotus silk is more expensive but much harder to yield.. So people are moving towards spider-web silk .. It easy durable and you don't have to kill silkworms in the process.
It looks like burlap, and honestly only strikes me as valued due to rarity, not so much quality. We already have soft fibers, breathable fibers, stretchy fibers, and wrinkle resistant fibers. All of which are dramatically easier to acquire, and use while being cheaper. Kinda like making a shirt out of typha fiber (cattail plant) than selling that for $1000 due to rarity, and calling it too "silk" to suggest prestigious value. I don't see this taking off just due to it being a scarcity market, pretty hard pressed to imagine we have nothing that can't beat Lotus "silk' in all properties, and characteristics.
I think it's a waste of plants and time because this looks very similar to the fabric used for sacks of potatoes or onions😭😭. I think anybody who would buy this jacket has awful taste and just wants to wear brands to brag and it's sad

So... It looks like linen but is wrinkle resistant! Who here loves the look of linen but cannot stand the severe creasing? 🙋♀️
I agree with u, but linen absorbs sweat well and for someone who lives in a tropical climate, it’s a boon
You think 200$ a yard is expensive? Imagine how expensive it would be if it was made in the U.S
Probably like 5 grand at least.
@@trainerkai1313 2 months of labor for a scarf with 20 people, rent insurances, taxes, corporate salaries. Nahhhh no way just 5 grand.

I'm very much happy trading with George Harry's trading services, he has been my source of massive cash outs in my trades
I've been trading with him for months now and all my trades have been going well.
I tried trading on my own but was losing a lot of money. I think I might actually need his assistance to trade.
He's indeed the best expert trader I've met, he's genuine and honest.
I rather would pay for lotus silk than the regular silk made out of boiled moths to be honest.
The making of lotus silk is very unique and I love it so much. It seems so satisfying😍😍❣️
So fascinating, I would love to get my hands on some of this fabric/fiber.
This is pretty cool to watch. I love to watch great content like this.
That bright gold with the spiders embroidered on it is actually Golden Orb Weaver silk. I just watched the video where those clips are from.
It’s a beautiful flower with beautiful qualities. Thanks for the info. 😌

Wool from Vucana Sheep is more expensive than lotus silk. Per yard, it will cost $1800- $ 3000
Vicuña 🦙 is not a sheep it’s closely related to the camel 🐪
I didn't know silk came from plants🤔
Only lotus silk comes from plants the other one comes from silk worms or spider silk
They should add a link to where you can purchase this
Nice video keep the good work

Good for any one to invest into
Wow did not know this that's cool and real interesting
When there are 40000 needed for 1m of silk, that would mean: that one sting of lotus produces 25 Micrometer of fabric. That’s totally unrealistic.
Wow ur smart never would of that
I think they meant 1m2
That's why it's mostly used for religious weaving in an annual ceremony in Myanmar. Otherwise, it's only for small items like scarves.
No you need that much to achieve the thickness for one meter

They should use the rotting stems to grow mushrooms after the silk has been extracted
