Some things have been simplified compared to the ME-50. For the Modulation the ME-50 has the Stereo Chorus but this one just has one set. The ME-50 also had more options for the Reverb control and the expression pedal effects removed the Resonance sound. The NS on the ME-70 switched to the Digital control instead of the Dial. However, The ME-70 did add some features like the EZ Tone, another Pedal for the compressor allowing to switch it on and off and no longer having to plug in a additional footswitch to switch banks in Memory mode and a Pre-Amp.
Just picked one up and I'm diving right in... I'm jamming in my living room w/headphones, while watching the game, right out of the box. The diversities in this model are totally sick... :)
Sounds wonderful, at 5.10 the guitar player played some guitar that reminded me of my Nan washing my socks, I think it was the faces he pulled rather than the guitar sound. X
I had a POD X3 live last summer and it was the biggest pain in the ass! I'm 51 and I do not have time to sit and tweak all those POD patches. S Save your money, man.
no one does like Robert M...I don't really understand his set up...every of his demo has something...I owned boss but failed to create the tone i love!
Can some one please tell me a problem regarding boss me 70 It keeps on showing bb on the display I can only recognize b and the second alphabet is like h or smth It is kinda like bb As it passes a noise in the amplifier I can’t play go to the store and consult cause it’s far away from my place I am stock with this problem Thank you in advance...!!
The ME-70 would be the absolute PERFECT pedalboard if it had a long window like a Zoom GFX8 to name patches. It's approximately 1x6 inches. The 1 inch square ⬛ is not big enough. It's my only complaint. The individual stompbox layout is perfect. The current digital versions where the effects can be arranged in different orders can be confusing as fk. The ME-80 is too pedal busy. This is perfect. Nobody uses that many pedals or patches.
Um, excuse me? That's JOHNNY MUTHAFUCKIN' DEMARCO you're talking about there. The man is literally God himself and you better show some respect before a mortal swine such as yourself calls Him a "metal cheese ball"
or maybe even better, the only way it worked well was when i turned the noise suppressor all the way up. So maybe they've re-worked it to where instead of turning it all the way up (like on the ME-50) you only need to go half way or something. So hopefully they made it so if you want more suppression, it's there. But maxing it on the ME-50 did a great job. But my friend has the ME-50 so that's how i know this.
As much as I love Boss/Roland products, their demo videos are insanely bad. They all look like they were filmed in the mid-80s. Even the best scenes they film look disingenuous - a) obligatory shredder with long hair and rock-star attire. b) horrible set with bad lighting that attempts to look like a real stage. c) Lastly, music from ANOTHER DECADE. I can only assume that Boss has some long running contract with an advertising agency that they've been unable to get out of.
pretty much. I found an old dod fx7 packed away that i bought a long time ago. Surprisingly enough the distortion for it sounds better than the newer shit out today like zoom, korg etc. If i had my way id buy an old ada mp1 and be done with it.
Nightingale1887 Hey Night, I don't like their distortion, their overdrives however are usable and some can make really nice sounds. I wanted to snatch me an OD-3 for a while because of how nice it sounded, but I think it's kind of counterproductive for me now since I mainly use plugins over hardware. I don't like BOSS's distortion though, like, 90% of their distortion based pedals sound like bad big muff pis. As for amp modeling, I think today's standards calls for a modeler sounding at least decently like the amps they're modeling even prior to EQing, and I think the BOSS MFX stuff falls short of that.
Lemmy Koopa I agree, but most distortion pedals are hard to get sounding ok live as for recording wise, I'd go with plugins. The OD-3 is a bass heavy OD. Refreshing tone.
I can't stand the distortion tones..... it's not the Boss unit it's the shitty guitars, the predominant metal head transistor amps... and the dunder heads playing the demos
Oh look, outdated 90's technology being sold as present day equipment. BOSS, seriously, find new ways to model your amps, ASAP. Stop sticking with these old routines and COSM stuff, it's outdated and it sounds more fake than a pirate's wooden leg.
***** Yes... and it's not too expensive... about $700 I read somewhere. But what I like about the Boss ME-70 are the knobs making it much easier to dial into your tone. I didn't like the menu of the POD and the Atomic has that same problem. But one could use the ME-70 to seek for a certain sound and then use something like the Atomic to duplicate it to get the same sound but with better quality. I think I will still go for the ME-70 first.
A Fantastic System the ME 70...and stil very significant today a decade after its release...
Hella! I get tons of comments how brutal my tone is from this!

Sounds amazing. Love the clean and chorus sounds. Great interface. I'm selling up all my pedals and going for one of these and an older GT-3.

so i guess the one in the ME-70 is similar :) thanks, i'm going to check it out
I may buy this over the line six pod x 3 live. Because this is simple to use by the looks.
Is it my idea or it's not possible to save settings just as GT-10 patches? So, you have to skip from different settings manually? that's a nightmare!
You can save 36 user patches in the user banks.
Stuck in the 80s.
Everything else sucks
Are this recorded directly? Could you explain how do you chain the signal? Thx.
Are you able to bypass the amp modelling and just use the effects?
yes

but i know my guitar has a really good faraday cage, will that make a diference?

Why can't anyone just do a real world demo? These metal cheese balls overplay everything.

I really feel bad for perm guy... they don't even pay him enough to buy shirts with buttons
how is the noise gate on this thing?
It’s pretty good it doesn’t eat up your high end unlike bias fx or amp kit.

what kind of V is that??
hm i don't know much about faraday cages, sorry =/
Don´t like any High-Gain sound ( 2:28 ) out of any BOSS Pedal:(
The narrator sounds kinda like Penn Jillette in the beginning.
Why the video show the down side. The drive sound was awfull 😔

Boss' distortion sucks. Get a POD HD500
Lemmy Koopa e.g. The SD-1 is great. I still have a OD-1 from 1980ish, still working fine. Line 6 is also great, but a bit of an unfair comparison.

It's a piece of garbage. Capacitors will fail and thus, it will randomly change the display and the effects. Don't buy these. Go for Line 6.
Oh look, outdated 90's technology being sold as present day equipment.
