Really appreciate your videos on the 5.9L 24V VP44 truck. I still have my '02. Last weekend, truck would barely idle and could not generate any power. Codes: P0122 P1693 and ECU codes: P0251 P0252 P0230 P1690 P1693. Thought for sure the VP44 needed to be replaced. Watched this video. Tested the 12V power to the pump. No problem. Started testing fuses. The 10A fuse for the O2 sensor was blown. Replaced fuse. Truck runs great again! Cleared codes. They did not return. No problem with the VP44. Many thanks!

I’ve got a friends 2001 dodge with an intermittent rough running, stalling, and no start. Happens on a cold or hot engine. Already has a DRP FASS lift pump after a failed factory lift pump at around 100,000 miles. It has a 179,000 on it now. It had a P0320 code set but no check engine light. I’m trying to figure out if it’s the VP44 or the cam sensor.
@@thoroughbreddiesel Thanks, that’s the path I’m going to take first. With the exception of the first time it acts like an electrical heat soak issue now. I’ve got a 2000 Dodge Diesel and it has a crank sensor. I didn’t they went with a cam sensor starting in 01.
I have a good lift pump and lift pump pressure I have some flow at injectors not a lot of pressure I had breakout box and truck still wouldn’t start I’m assuming vp is bad but would I still get some fuel at injectors if it was bad?

I would suspect cam sensor by the code. Diagnose and fix that code first.

My 99 dodge ram 24v hesitates and spudders when I push accelerate pedal
Any idea what it could be fuel pump ? Sounds amazing and starts right up

Yes this would be consistent with a bad VP.
Does low idle select (pin 4) need to be powered or grounded to change the idle?
I haven’t checked that against a normal BOB.
