I love the freewheel and wouldn't go anywhere without it. But it's heavy. I'd never be able to carry it behind me without tipping me over. I'm sorry, did you say 'it is quite light...10 pounds at the most'? You must be quite strong 😂. I have a Karman, which they do not fit on because the footrest bracket is a square tube...and the adapters wouldn't really fit with a square tube either...so I just took it to a bike shop and got a TiLite adjustable angle footrest, which you don't even need an adapter for. Thank you for the pro tip...my chair does pull to the side. I'm getting power assist wheels, but I wasn't aware you could put it on crooked. I can't bend and someone else puts it on for me.
Hey Morgan what you could try is when you're at home sometime and have some help put it on and make sure it is absolutely straight and your chair is tracking straight and then put a couple of pieces of tape on your footrest... that way when you are out traveling and want to put it on all you have to do is make sure it's lined up with those pieces of tape and you should be good :)
Hii! we do have more content coming up this year. Took a big break there while we both got settled into new jobs, moving, etc, but Andrea is working on editing new stuff that's coming up :)
Hey its going okay, i plateaued around 223 for a while but i turn 30 in april so my goal is to try to get to 200 by then. The biggest thing for me was meeting with a dietician who knew what they were talking about and the struggle with losing weight when only half your body works. I am no expert but there is a pretty significant difference in the caloric needs of someone with paraplegia and our abled body counterparts... also for me at least, lose the weight with a calorie deficit from your diet and any extra you burn with exercise is just icing on the cake... It is so hard to calculate calories burned when do exercise from a chair its not even worth the hassle for me.. So I still workout but i don't try to say things like "if i workout this much now I can go and eat this (food item) " Chasing calories like that never worked for me and was probably a contributing factor to my struggles in the past. Like I said I'm no expert but if you have other questions feel free to email me or find us on facebook or on here as well!
@@AdaptedAdventures ok thanks....yeah a dietitian that knows what they are doing, is like finding the dull needle in a pile of needles. I've seen dietitians, so I know the basics, but....as you know, its irritating. Well, if you can think of anything, please let me know. I'm already linked to your facebook as well. - Chrys
I try to wash my cushion covers every two days and when it needs it I wash my actual cushion with just warm water and dish soap. I try to febreeze my upholstery and wash it and hang dry it about once a month
What's up man. Just got mine today. Wanted to see if you could possibly give me some advice. It seems to clamp on solid to my footplate yet after it's clamped on the wheel is raised up in the air. There is no more room for adjustment on the angle adjustment. Thanks.
So I bought one of these, but I have been really disappointed. Maybe it is just me, but When I stop or even slow down, the wheel turns to one side or another, putting me back on the castors. It is tricky to get going straight again. Did this happen to you?
Hey Lisa, I didn't have this trouble but i think I may know whats going on, if you are able send me picture to stelterkc@gmail.com of what your freewheel looks like when its on your chair
If you use a square, you'll be able to draw a nice straight line on your footplate.

off the topic, but hows your weight loss going? I was born with SB too. I need to lose around 100 and have no idea what I am doing. Any suggestions?

@@AdaptedAdventures I would think burning more energy than consuming calories is the trick.
What do you use to sanitize your chair what chemicals do you use to keep it clean and smelling good?

what kind of chair/footplate do you have.. could you potentially send some pictures to stelterkc@gmail.com?

Have you tried tightening the Ball Adjuster Knob?...that might help.
