    that's overkill- 2 68's on 3 coaches! (and much more interesting than the endless Desiro EMU's round here)

      because they cant switch the locos around

      @indianrailwayslover itll be becuse the leading locomotive wont be able to be switched aroundf as @yourlocalskoda has mentioned as a turntable would be required to turn it around so having a tailing one will mean when the train needs to go and the one that lead cant be changed ends the taling one will then become the leading and the 1 that led becomes tail side

      operational/time saving reason the majority of termini stations on the UK network lack facilities for the locomotive to uncouple and run round to the other end due to the practically all current passenger stock being either Multiple Units or Push/Pull stock. also in the case of these Class 68s only the front Locomotive provides Traction since the coaches lack the correct cabling to allow the locomotive to work in multiple

      @timrowley think the title means 'thrashes' or charges might be a differnt way of saying thrashes
