I read Remarkably Bright Creatures last year and really enjoyed it because I loved Marcellus. I think I was the one who told you that there is a reset in The Passage, I’m so glad you liked it. I finished The Twelve not too long ago and it was good too. Need to get to The City of Mirrors! I have The Women and The Frozen River that I borrowed from my sister so yay! What a fun video! I thoroughly enjoyed your experience reading these, and The Frozen River is definitely one of my top favorites of the year. Have you read The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton? Completely different than The Frozen River but similar in that you keep thinking about it well after you’re done. I didn’t love the first half but the last 1/4 made me audibly gasp and flip back to multiple places throughout the book. I still think about it, and sometimes I get chills when I put myself in the shoes of the characters involved.
I’m so glad you enjoyed The Passage!! It was everything I was looking for in a book at the time I read it. I hadn’t read much of this type of genre and I just was so engaged in this entire trilogy. Definitely keep reading them and soon so you don’t forget the characters and storylines. It’s worth it! ❤ ~Chelsea
I loved The Women, but I think Frozen River would still rank higher. I absolutely loved it. I also just read (via my ears) Remarkably Bright Creatures. I enjoyed it but not a I LOVE this book situation.
So exciting to hear how much you loved The Passage. It gets so much better and intense in The Twelve. Justin Cronins latest book The Ferryman is amazing as well. I also highly recommend The Square Of Sevens if you enjoy large scope books. Lot of characters that once all is revealed at conclusion your jaw will be on the floor
I’ve been trying to decide whether to read The Ferryman. It seems from the reviews on Goodreads to have people who love it or hate it and not much middle ground. But I really enjoyed The Passage and The Twelve (haven’t gotten to The City of Mirrors) so I think I’ll pick it up.
@@cynthiafialka city of mirrors is a very good conclusion to the trilogy. If you are not sure about the ferryman try checking it out from the library....that way if you don't like it atleast it didn't cost you money.
I'm going to watch the end of this vlog later. I'm doing a buddy read of The Frozen River when it gets in atvthe library. I realized when you first started talking that maybe I should wait. I didn't have any idea that it was about sextant assault! I did skip ahead to see if you liked it. Glad you enjoyed all of the books you read. Have you read The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare? Her second book And So I Roar is due out on August 2nd or 3rd. I may have recommended it before. I wouldn't say it's in the same camp of any of the books I've seen you read, but you may find it different in am interesting way.

Frozen River is one of my top reads of the year as well as The Collected Regrets of Clover and The Women. It has been a good reading year so far.

I read Remarkably Bright Creatures and The Frozen River back-to-back in December and loved them both. They ended my year on a high note, for sure!

I didn't know it was about sexual assault either - but I think it was handled in a really respectful way!
