The custom stage is such a great idea! Not changing the normal gameplay too much, but still putting in the kill condition. I might have to try it as well!
If anyone wants a real good look at just how high up the spike-specific blastzone is, take a look at when Ganondorf dies at 14:56 and go through it frame by frame with the comma and period keys, and you can actually see Ganondorf's cape (and the top of his hand) disappear when he hits the blast zone. It's honestly kinda wild how close that blast zone is, he doesn't even go into the magnifying glass thing, he just instantly gets Thanos snapped. Edit: spelling
this is the counter they added to suicide kills from smash 4. they use the spike blast zone for people in command grabs so the command grabs ALLWAYS DIE sooner

This brings back memories of a stage I made in Brawl that’s just designed to make you almost unkillable. Imagine a massive box with unpredictably angled walls and in the top left corner at the ceiling there is a small spot there are rockets that send you in but don’t let you leave. Then on the wall of the top right of the stage there’s a gap with a cannon out guarded by some cannons going in, with a small opening to fly in. 999% wasn’t unusual
I made a similar stage in Brawl. But it had multiple holes to fly out of. But living to like 300 to 500 was common. I've tried to recreate it in Sm4sh and Ultimate but you end up with two issues. The AI isn't smart enough to go inside the stage (I'm guessing since you draw instead of placing blocks it messes them up) and issue two is the untechable state you enter. In Brawl even at 500 you could tech a hit.

Then again Brawl you could slow your momentum by air dodging or even better with things like Game and Watch's down B. Can live to 200 on FD in Brawl doing that.

I bet you that the reason 14:43 didn't kill is because kirby went so fast that he actually crossed the spike kill plane and hit the lava on the same frame. Because lava is a wall, it out prioritizes and kirby ended up getting hit. Normally this is never an issue because, well, there is normally nothing below the spike kill plane.
I would've picked Byleth at least once. The Up-B spike and big bonk Down Air would've been fun to see. But I downloaded the stage, so I'll do it myself, hehehe >:)

Game mode suggestion: The Spiking Challenge You get a random character (Better to use a randomiser on Google or something so you know the character you get can spike). And you have to get a kill with each spike of the character
Video suggestion : Smash Snakes and ladders: Each player starts at mario then they fight who ever wins rolls the dice and goes ahead of the roster suppose i won and rolled a 3 then i would go from mario to samus then whoever reaches random first win. also if u roll 6 u can roll again...
As far as I know you don't go through the lava when you get spiked but I think there is a second blast zone which is higher up but only activates when you get spiked

From what I remember if the angle you die in is downwards enough the game uses a blast zone higher than the normal one. This blast zone is only active during hitstun. Here the second blast zone is higher than the lava therefore you die before touching it. I'm not sure how it works with moves like ganons or Ridley's side b
