- Khumai Danda is an easy 2-3 day trek in Nepal's Gandaki Province, offering spectacular 360º views of the Annapurna Region and Mount Machapuchare. Currently, few people know about this trek as it has not been widely publicized. All services are new, making it perfect for enjoying the Himalayan experience while feeling secluded in the mountains.
DAY 1
Bus from Pokhara to Hemja
4x4 from Hemja to Ghachok
Trek from Ghachok to Chichimle
Total distance: 8.2 km
Elevation gain: 1,088m
Homestay: Chichimle Home
DAY 2
Trek from Chichimle to Khumai Danda
Total distance: 5.2 km
Elevation gain: 870m
Homestay: Green Cottage
DAY 3
Descend from Khumai Danda to Ghachok
Total distance: 13.4 km
4x4 from Ghachok to Hemja
Bus from Hemja to Pokhara
PERMISSIONS:
Currently, it is not necessary to apply for a permit, although an entrance fee of 500 Nepalese rupees must be paid before arriving at Khumai Hill.
GUIDES:
While not mandatory, trekking with a guide is an option. Many trekking agencies in Pokhara offer guide services, or you can request information directly from us.
HOMESTAYS:
Throughout the trek, there are several Mountain Shelters where you can purchase water, food, and accommodation. Interacting with the locals is a unique and enriching experience.
TRANSPORT:
No private transport booking is necessary. Local transport is available from Pokhara to Hemja, and from Hemja, 4x4s or buses go to Ghachok.
CIRCULAR ROUTE:
There is the option of a circular route, ascending to Korchon Hut and descending on the other side of the mountain. However, due to fog, we did not choose this route.
