watching this band, listening to their new songs, the excitement of not knowing what's coming next in each tune, I get the feeling of what someone watching Jimi Hendrix or King Crimson in the 60s must have felt watching those bands doing such incredible new things... These guys are the best band in the world right now... I can't wait for the next album...
What's really interesting is that Black Country New Road and Black MIDI both started as Slint tribute acts, but they've diverged into their minor influences in a major way! Black MIDI really dug into their jazz fusion/metal side, and BCNR have really started exploring a classical/folk side of themselves that's super interesting to hear.
@@GreenToast01 holy shit do I have to write it out just for you? They both started out in a post-rock, heavily Slint influenced style, hence the tongue-and-cheek allusion to their own lyric which jokingly calls themselves the second best Slint tribute act. Their lyric wasn’t literal. My comment wasn’t literal. jesus christ.
The Slint angle is such a tired and tawdry comment. Lazy crap ignorant comment. May as well call Sex Pistols a 'Led Zep tribute act' or 'NYD tribute act'. It's just pathetic. People using phrases like 'Slint tribute act' need to look at themselves in the mirror and grow up a bit. It's not a clever remark, it's just the opposite. It's demeaning and small-minded. A 'tribute act' plays cover versions of shit Queen songs and calls themselves The New Queens. They don't play music like Black Midi, New Road.
14:17 is one of the funniest things- looks so passive aggressive when in reality it’s just to help. Despite that it helps reinforce my theory that Luke is the Ed O’brien of BCNR.
@@lchaimyeladim I’m pretty sure she just asked the sound person to turn Luke’s guitar down- which on it own can look quite funny but in reality was just to make the performance better.
@@mrmogford8117 it's also just for her monitor. She needs to be able to hear herself playing the guitar so the levels are important. This happens all the time for all bands so definitely not rude lol
@@frustratedandroid7288 yeah, I actually really like Live at Bush Hall and pretty much all the songs on it, I just thought it lacked a degree of thematic and sonic cohesion which came from the circumstance in which the songs were composed/arranged. This was the first gig I ever went too and i was not expecting it to be this good! Only issue is im not used to so many people in 1 space and I couldnt really see much because im small lol
i honestly think that adds a lot to his kinda immature happy vibe, since both 24/7 and across the pond friend are happy-ish songs. thats mainly why i dont really like the wrong trousers that much, it feels like hes trying too hard to be mature when that vibe doesnt really fit his voice
They definitely lost some edge with Isaac leaving, but now without him they have to find a new sound again so good on them, because they are still great.

Georgia on vocals in BCNR LFG!
Hope 'Happy Birthday' makes the cut for the new album

I actually think this song is so Slinty. The meandering storytelling singing into loud crushing instrumentals. I love it.
nancy tries to take the night is the best thing i've heard since bush hall! love it thank u
Nancy tries to take the night is one of my favourite bcnr songs so far, it’s fucking amazing
nancy tries to take the night sounds so much more polished already damn they work fast
6:06 finally. BCNR Jockstrap collab 🤯🗿
New Georgia song, let's fucking go. I really hope they perform "Geese" again sometime as well with her on vocals.
damn wtf horses goes fucking hard as shit holy
Both Nancy and Horses are perfection
Lewis’ voice sounds GREAT
Omg it’s so cute that they’re using Isaacs guitar
Luke’s darker acoustic on Nancy? Is that it?
everyone talking about the songs but the recording by you is fabulous massive thank you easily best version we have of these songs
Happy Birthday might be their best song, thank you for sharing this!!!
omg nancy tries to take the night is actually incredible
So happy georgia is singing !
The voices of Lewis and Tyler are incredible 🥹
horses and british summertime are soooo gooooood omg, 2 of their best songs tbh

These new songs sound far more interesting than the ones on the live album!
Lots more cohesion, methinks. Feels very collaborative which is when I think the band is at their best, makes me so happy!

agree that,he still needs to improve
