- Hey Everyone! Welcome to Living it Country, today I am sharing a vlog of our little family and the process of us hanging out and installing home owner style rustic wood beams. Wood beams have been a project on our to do list for 2 years and now that we are quarentened it was just the perfect time to do this diy project. Wood beams can be so expensive and you guys this diy was so so so inexpensive. I can not wait to finish up the whole house but for now I hope you enjoy this video!

Honestly these are the best looking faux beams I have seen on youtube. You just can’t go wrong with beating the hell out f it.

Hi Holly I must say Jason did a Fantastic job on those beams. Boy is little one getting big and so is your little Princes They look awesome Holly I have Beams in my Kitchen and I use to Han things from them. Do you have any photos you can post of some of your entryways into other rooms? I love the glimpse I saw in the video
I think it looks great, but would like to make a small suggestion for consideration. I am not trying to be a hater just building upon an already good design. The larger pretend beams are going to need a lot more pretend support from inside the wall at each end. Adding at least 4.5" inches would account for 1/2" drywall and leave room for at least 2 pretend 2x4's underneath it inside the wall.

Great Video!! Great Job Dad!! and maybe you all ready know this … on the air nailer you can adjust air setting for setting the nails. most of the time it's up front. but if your hammering to give effects cool too!

I've seen others just nail boards together and essentially make a long box and mount it to the ceiling. And that's exactly what it looks like...a long box nailed to the ceiling. You, on the other hand, cut your edges with 45 degree angles, glued and stapled them together, and after sanding, decorative cutting, and staining, it looks like wood beam. Well done. Very well done.

I beat the wood with big chains, claw it with a hammer, use the plane like he does, put chains on the wood and hit the chains with the hammer… just really fck it up lol. You get to take out frustration AND make the wood look genuine lol

Man, I hate the round corner bead on my drywall so much. If I want to paint, I need to paint like half my house because there is no clean break between the rooms. Hopefully newer houses stop using it

I share the sentiment from many comments....video had so much potential. Intro way too long, terrible choice of music, too much talking from the lady, and God, that fry creaky tone. I liked the project but couldn't go through it all as the constant interruption made it not worth it.
