Little Ship Rescue - ASMR - No Talking Version

- Relax as I rescue this little plastic ship. As you can see it was in terrible shape. The former owner may have abandoned the ship because of the damaged hull and deck. I was walking my dog when I spotted the little ship along the fenceline and knew fairly quickly it might make a good ASMR video. I considered doing a much better restoration on the vessel, but in the end decided to keep it simple and crude. And, yes I know that the video goes dark at the 30 second mark like someone turned off a light; that was the result of me choosing the wrong setting on the camera. It gets brighter again soon enough though. This video's audio is best enjoyed with headphones or earbuds.

The videos on my You Tube channel portray some of the typical day-to-day things that I do for relaxation. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. An entire video of you unscrewing and replacing the paint bottle lids would blow my mind.
This made me smile, I like to think the ship is feeling all good and happy that it was rescued and made anew.
Agreed. Sat on a bit of grass, mould green colour, it was thinking "I loved my owner! Why throw me away?! (cries)" This guy comes along and finds it, tenderly picking it up: "(cries slightly before stopping) Huh?!"
Soon the man takes it home and begins the operation, Operation SS Restoration.
The ship sleeps through the operation......
" (snores) "
The man wakes the ship afterward: "Wakey-wakey, little one." he whispers in a calm tone.
Groggily, the ship comes to, groaning in pain.
"(moans) My bridge..... What happened to me-" (it sees it's brand new look and freezes)
The man: "Welcome home, SS Restoration..."
The ship: (looks at itself, noticing the plaque on it's plinth, getting even more emotional by the second.) "You, you g-gave m-me a-a n-n-name? And a home? And fixed me?"
(The man smiled at the tiny, tearful ship, a loving, paternal smile)
(Almost instantly, the ship bursts into tears, launching itself at the man, wailing, the sound being like a steamship of old, and it cries long, joyous tears, sobbing the words "Thank You ", over and over again.)
Thus was the story of the recovery, repair and rescue of the SS Restoration.
You did a sterling job on a poor, abandoned toy. Disney/Pixar should take note - there's a modern fairy tale in the making here lol!
This is now one of my favourite ASMR videos, very peaceful and relaxing
the blue jays in the background sound super nice.

Not sure about others, but I personally love repair / tinkering videos without talking so if you were to make more that would be absolutely amazing! :D

I'm really happy that you've decided to release a talking and non talking version of this video, hopefully you do so for future videos, sometimes i just want noise other times i want talking and noise. Keep up the great work though!

Yep, that'll do it. A little mind numbing is happiness for the soul. Somebody demonstrated long division way back in highschool, a fellow student trying to help me out, my brain went numb. I knew this was a thing, but never really knew till now that it is actually a thing. Given the circumstances it used to worry me. But insomnia has become a thing. Your videos have been a great find. Even if 2 years old.

Quick question, do you record with no talking first and then add your commentary to make 2 separate videos?

You are using that knife wrong... always keep the blade pointed away from yourself and your fingers for safety :)
What type of black paint did you use on the ship? I might end up using the same stuff on my glasses frames since the paint has been chipping.

Personally not enjoying the background noises throughout. That said I was really impressed by the idea for the video; you are borderline legend. Great to see the qualities of pursuits outside of the norm; inspiring. Too often are we reliant upon TV or the internet these days. Coming from 23yr who spends most free time at gym or infront of a screen.
