I had zero interest in fountain pens until I came across your videos around 3 weeks ago. Half way through the first one I watched I paused it, went onto Amazon and bought a Jinhao X450.....3 weeks later I now own 18 fountain pens, 12 of them Jinhao. I also bought a 1970 parker 25 and a 1930s Swan. Thank you for spiking a brand new interest and hobby. Love the vids
I cannot believe I missed this video and it's been out for a long time. I absolutely love the sounds in this particular video! Even back then you were amazing
As I sit here relaxing smoking my Montecristo #1, and watching you do your thing with pens. A perfect combo to end a hectic day. Thanks for the posting!
I have a 5 step method in better cleaning: The first is plain water until it's clear, the second step is using perfect pen flush In & Out, the Third step is to flush it in and out with water to remove the perfect pen flush leftover, the fourth step is air to remove any excess water and finally keeping the pen de-assembled overnight for it to dry.
Hi! I recently purchased two used Parker 45 flighter ballpoint pens. They have brass threads inside and I'm thinking of cleaning them up with some WD-40. After removing the WD-40, what should I use to lubricate them? Love your pen videos. Thank you for making these!
Thanks :). I sometimes listen to your videos while doing homework. I guess the sound of someone else working on something helps keep me focused. Although, sometimes I get really sleepy :).
I love how you have so many collections of things. Do you by chance collect hats as well? I figured if anyone would you would lol. If you do have a collection I think it would neat to have a soft spoken asmr video showcasing your collection, showing us one, giving history about what it is and it's origins..etc. I was just thinking about this as I ordered my first pork pie hat last night. Excited for it to arrive.
I do have small collections of things but hats never were on my radar. I agree such a video would be great, but I can't help you on that one. Thanks for hanging out at my channel though.
New subscriber here. It's rare that a guy's voice triggers tingles in me for some reason, so I'm super excited that I found your channel! It's nice to have someone to listen to who's into the often weird curios that guys take interest in (like pens, for example) that I can listen to when I just want to kick back and relax. Keep up the great work! Now it's time to binge your channel until I fall asleep, which probably won't be long. 😅
Hi RelaxingASMR, I have a problem with my Parker Ballpoint, which I hope you can help me solve. Dried ink seems to be building up around the top of the refill, affecting the clicking mechanism. What do you reckon is the best method for removing any remaining ink? Soaking in water, ethanol, or? (Your brilliant video made me want to clean my beloved Parker pen!).
Use a household Ammonia and water. Be sure you get what is called a 10% Ammonia solution (most household Ammonia is 10% and it will probably say "10%" on the container. Mix it with water at 10 to 1 (ten parts water - 1 part Ammonia solution) and soak it for a few days then flush with cool water. You may have to repeat the process. Good luck.
RelaxingASMR Thank you very much! I will get at it right away. I really appreciate that you interact with your subscribers and on top of that gives helpful replies.
Your desk has a very nice shine to it! The warm lighting makes it look beautiful! Do you prefer fountain pens or ball points? I like fountain pens because of the way it glides over the paper and I like ball points because I have very shaky hands and the broad tip helps the pen stay in place.
RelaxingASMR I wouldn't call it pretty,... interesting, yes :) I was wondering about what function does it serve for. is it like an eraser or more a brushy thing? oh, and great videos by the way,... I much prefer them to the common whispering-role-playing stuff out there,... keep up with the good work :)
Lisa Haynes hi,... yeah,... I got it figured out since then,... but thanks anyway,... especially since you had the will to deal with this new commenting system,... this is my 3rd post since the "google's big mistake",... I just don't have the nerve to bother to figure it out,... thanx again,... be fine
Now that this video is almost 5 years old would you do another one while explaining what you're doing? With the different pens and converter styles, please?
Aile O'Neil Usually, I only use a pen for a month or two before moving on to another pen. I always clean and dry the pen before putting it away, so that the next time it comes up in the rotation, it'll be ready to fill. I seldom clean a pen that is currently being used unless I suspect the nib is gummed up with inky paper fibers. Otherwise, I just refill and go. Hope this answers your question:)
RelaxingASMR thank you very much. I was planning on getting a pen for my birthday soon, I was thinking one of the cheeper pens you reviewed. Thank you for helping me, I wanted to know the cleaning so I didn't ruin the pen. You're content is amazing and sparked my interest in pens again.

Im scared to ask how many pens you own now.
What's your pen count now?
Such a relaxing video. I love it when ASMRers are able to incorporate their hobbies into their videos.
Watching this video makes me realise just how cheap and basic the fountain pen I had at school was!!
You should get another fountain pen and start using one again:)

Great cigar though underrated in my opinion. Hope you have a short glass of "Dr. Pepper" to go with that.

+RK NINE That last part about keeping it disassembled to let it dry out overnight is important. I sometimes won't reassemble a pen for days.
RelaxingASMR Yes. It's important to let the small detailed parts to dry.

Love, love, love your ink display!
Where can I get a great father and role model like Mr. RelaxingASMR?
Thanks. I appreciate that.

Love your videos! So relaxing!
Super relaxing . What do you do for a living?
I have a collection of that exact same knife
I notice you have a bottle of Noodlers Ottoman Azure. Fantastic Ink. Great video.
Good catch! Watch for it being used in a future video.
beautiful video i love pens
Pen is good..pencil bland..pen feels right, in my hand:)

what was the thing right before the "lyndex nikken" ?
You tell me and we'll both know. I don't even know where it came from; it was just there one day. Pretty little thing isn't it?

It looks to me like a capacitive stylus.

I enjoyed your video can you identify the green & red fountain pens please ? :)

I was wondering, how often should you clean a pen?

I really enjoy these, but when you talk is still my favorite
23:00 is that a dabber?
lmao no it's not.
definitely could be used as such, but i think its a glass pen
Thanks man. Great as always
Hey, do I spot Noodler's Ottoman Azure in the back?
Indeed. Good eye:)
Are you on FPN?
Old "Spinning Knife" intro >
Error in the description, I believe. "Fast-paced" instead of "Fast-passed".
+Jeff Roys Indeed. Correction made. Thanks!
The only thing worse than not getting a new video from you is getting a new video from you and there is no talking... So disappointing.
You should probably buy more ink quick, it looks like you're about to run out! ;) Thanks for another great video.
He who dies with the most ink...wins! j/k
I'm a truck driver and all I use are the zebra fine point pens.
I have a Zebra fountain pen that I've been meaning to make a video with.
All the truckers I've seen use the Zebra pens.
They are great to use on our paperwork cause they write small and they are smoother then a lot of other pens I have used.
It's kind of insane how ASMR(ers) always reply to comments, rather than "Real TH-camrs"
What do u mean " real youtubers" ? I'm slightly af fended by that. Jk but seriously it's not that insane.
// RYEM //
ASMRtists, music creators/coverers, and dank memers are the ones I usually see.
@heroine r\boneappletea
The frame rate is not strong in this one...
Ballpoint is superior in every way
I'll pretend you didn't say that.
cheap, requires little to no maintenance, lasts long, smoother.
@@dylanchevalier6677 much easier to write nicely or fancy with fountain pens :)
Bad frame rate
But a great video
Oh you’re right that’s weird
A fountain pen man with a cup full of ballpoints? SMH.
Good point. I hadn't thought of that.
