Happy: "Do you know what happens when I tell people I'm Iron Man's bodyguard? ... They laugh in my face." This is probably the most underrated line of the three Iron Man movies.
One of the more underrated marvel movies. Shane Black wrote the hell out of this one too. Black’s archetypal protagonists are often wise cracking, hyper competent alpha males who are suppressing a previous trauma by adopting self destructive coping mechanisms who have to lean on a (usually reluctant or challenging) male partner to help them on their path of rediscovery and reconnecting with the thing that made them great in the first place and this is exactly where Tony is as a character after the events of Avengers. Black’s movies often take place during Christmas time as well.
Shane Black’s other written works include; Lethal Weapon 1 & 2, The Last Boy Scout, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys. He also put a lot of the finishing touches on Die Hard, Predator and Crimson Tide.
My favorite of his is still The Long Kiss Goodnight.
You have to remember Captain A told tony while they were arguing that Tony wasn't the type to sacrifice himself for others. That came full circle for tony. When he was prepared to die saving the city. It's a big character growth moment
This movie was at least dvisive when it came out, if not generally panned, but I always really liked what it did for Tony. A lot can be said about dealing with the consequences of a near death experience, an alien invasion, travelling through a wormhole and losing consciousness before coming back out of it, and of course witnessing the scope of Thanos' fleet, but the part that stood out to me the most is how much of this movie Tony spends suitless and on his heels, and making it work anyway. Iron Man is about Tony becoming a hero, Iron Man 2 is about Tony coming to terms with mortality and legacy, and Iron Man 3 is the movie that brings truth to the statement he makes at the end of the first movie: "I am Iron Man." Not him in the suit, HIM. It's really easy to float the idea that "anyone can be Iron Man if they get in the suit", and War Machine in 2 along with Iron Monger and Whiplash as villains both further that narrative, but this movie walks it back and points out not just that Tony's the guy that made the suits, but he's also the guy that can still do it even without the suit. At least as I see it, anyway.
Tony is wearing the Mark 42 in the film along with his PTSD after he flew into the wormhole at the end of Avengers and his obsession with protecting Pepper he spent most of his sleepless nights in his garage in Malibu making an additional 30+ suits leading up to the Mark 42 he wears in the film. For reference he wears a Mark 7 in Avengers and a Mark 42 in Iron Man 3 giving a hint to how busy and obsessed he has been since
(Does something cool)
"I'm the best."
(Everything immediately comes crashing down)
My life in a nutshell.
I don’t know if you two girls know who that blonde actor is but his name is Guy Pearce. He’s actually the star of the Christopher Nolan movie Memento & he’s also in another classic movie called L.A. Confidential. Amazing movies that you two should check out.
The thing that I like about this movie is that it shows us that Tony doesn’t always have to rely on a suit to help him through situations. Even without the suit, he’s still Iron Man. So I thought this was some nice development.
I am Iron Man.
iron-man isn't the suite iron-man is the engineer
"Honestly, I hate working here. They are SO weird."
I'm flashing back to my early days working in retail. lol
The necklace Tony gives Pepper @ 41:12 is adorned with the shrapnel removed from his heart... who says Tony isn't thoughtful & romantic?
@3:00 - Tony trying out new tech in his workshop is always comedy, but it shows he is not perfect despite being a genius.
@14:00 - Yes, it was stupid to give out his address. But he was suffering PTSD from the Avengers battle in NY, was not getting enough sleep, and his best friend Happy had got severely injured. So he was angry and not thinking straight.
@30:08 - The people falling out of the plane was not CGI. They hired experienced skydivers, and over several jumps filmed the pieces of the scene.
The story of the Extremis formula (what made the people glow and explode) is continued in Season 1 of Marvel's "Agent's of Shield".
It is soo great to tag along on this journey.. Superb Reaction ladies... cheers!
Sir Ben Kingsley to-do list:
✅ Iron Man 3/MCU
Schindler's List (No explanation necessary)
Ghandi
Searching For Bobby Fisher (A chess-player's favorite)
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Shutter Island (Scorcese and Leo. Once again. And again.)
Species
Lucky Number Slevin
Hugo
Ender's Game
House Of Sand And Fog
In Tony's defense, the first time one has a panic attack, and realizes that is *was* a panic attack, the most common thing to feel is, "...me?"
My movie favorite, IRON-MAN 3 💪💪💪💪🦸♂️🦸♂️🦸♂️🦸♂️✨️✨️✨️
He is not the real Mandarin, The Real Mandarin is Wenwu
I don't think there are any reactors that love Iron Man and Captain America more than you two! Great reactions!
42:00: *That little screwdriver that Tony finds is supposed to be the first toy he received as a child.* 🪛
"Iron Man Tree!" I felt sorry for Tony as he had developed PTSD during the Jitaori attack on New York City. The intro song "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65 was perfect. The kid who helped him is from Jurassic World. Nice reaction ladies. May I suggest Scanners (1981). I really like this cult classic.
Phase 2 starts but yes this is one of my favorite Iron Man movies of all time!
*Fun Fact: The kid who Tony befriends was also in the first Jurassic World.* 🦖
And Insidious 1, 2 and The Red Door
@@sablewharton1854 Spoiler. 🤦🏻♂️
@@ottoswanson6664 I was referring to something Magy’s already seen.
This one was definitely different and if nothing else does give us more character development for Tony Stark. Which is always a good thing
*Guy Pearce, who played Killian, was awesome in L.A. Confidential and Memento.*
*And Magy, you may remember Ben Kingsley (Trevor) was in Schindler’s List. His most famous role would definitely be in Gandhi.*
@JedHead77 And "Ravenous" (1999) which would be perfect for next pride month.
The closing was perfect for the Trilogy, perhaps it was highly criticized at the time, but Iron Man 3 is incredible. I liked it because the movie shows the more human side of Tony Stark. After what happened in New York he developed a deep fear of hidden and much bigger things, it was like a message of life, Even if you are human, The power is in you, the truth is that we didn't see much of The Mandarin in the movie I I would have loved it, since he is one of Iron Man's most powerful arch-enemies. With all that, I love the movie, I loved the reaction! 💯❤️💥
Yep. Extremis CAN regenerate his daughter's leg, so the Vice-President sold out his Boss in exchange. It's a really shitty thing to do to your own Presidency, but at the same time, it's also a Father who wants to help his daughter.
In fairness to killian if u became a secret super villain one of the perks is getting to scream your reveal at the hero over emotionally. Right?
Best Iron Man movie out of the trilogy, in my opinion 👌🔥🍿
*I first saw this at the El Capitan theater right across the street from the historic Chinese Theater where the big explosion that injured Happy occured. Magy, you might remember it from the first Rush Hour too. It was surreal seeing that scene when it happened. You can briefly see the theater in the background at **9:50**:*
When Magy has long hair, she immediately looks much older
Watching Sir Ben Kingsley play a goofy hippy was my favorite part of this film.
Fun fact the girl in the wheel chair was jenna ortega when she was 10 year old in this Iron 3 film
Guy Pearce to-do list:
✅Iron Man 3
The Count Of Monte Cristo (this is going to keep coming up until you see it. lol)
Momento (Christopher Nolan's first hit. And as you would expect from Nolan, it's an interesting concept.)
L.A. Confidential
The Road
The Hurt Locker
The King's Speech
Prometheus and Alien: Covenant (Alien "prequels")
Lawless
No "ravenous" love?
20:15-20:20 Notice how Tony is bracing the "flight stabilizer" (as described in the first movie) with his other arm? Physics isn't something you play lightly with on the equal but opposite reaction. The Iron Man suit absorbs a lot of kinetic kickback, much more mass, servos and similar machines to handle the sheer force. If it is projecting enough force to throw an adult male human back, it probably is throwing enough force kickback to break his skull with the back of his hand if he didn't brace it. (Small nod to physics, by this movie)
Magy. Seeing you smile is a brilliant light to my day.
One of my favorite Marvel films because of Shane Black movie style.
Great reaction! :)
29:08 First big screen appearance of Jenna Ortega, brief as it was. Boy, we didn't know back then how prominent she would become in franchise films and shows.
So you know, the stunt saving the crew falling from Air Force One was done practically with sky divers & not with green screen effects. The only digital aspects were wire & such removal along with creating the Iron Man armor over the actor. Now that you have these Iron Man films "in your pocket" you might want to consider some of the short story films known as Marvel One-Shots. Early on in the progression of the MCU (& they still had a little bit of extra money), they were making short stories thar carried the adventure further (one of MY favorites is A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer with agent Phil Coulson). They are all available through the Disney+ app & while you really don't need a reaction video, you might enjoy them nonetheless. But don't go past All Hail The King, (which is the One-Shot after Iron Man III). P.S. I love your work.
I got to watch them film some of that scene when I was going home from work one day. I was going over the bridge I always go over and looked out to see about 8 people suspended over the river by wires from a giant crane while a bunch of boats and I believe another crane were shooting it all. I had never seen anything like it and still haven't really, and I've seen a lot of film crews around here.
Glad the Bulgarian beauties enjoyed the Iron Man series.
I saw it back it the theatre. I really love it
She’s gonnna be floored in endgame
:,,(
They have quite a way to go before then.
I'm glad MCU did that because Tony (in the comics) DOES in fact just keep making new armors.
Finally Tony Stark greatest enemy, his battle with alcohol LMAOO
When laura geeks out on nerdy stuff: 😍
Welcome to Phase 2 of the MCU, beauties!
Great analysis at the end ladies. Fantastic reaction as always.
The best Ironman movie don’t care what anyone says
Yeah , easily in terms of CGI and visuals
The first bad movie in the MCU
Agreed
Yeah, I probably like the first one just a little more (mostly due to nostalgia), but I’ve always wondered why people disliked this one so much. It’s a lot of fun.
Iron Man 3 is the best Iron Man movie.
Your reactions are pretty wholesome! I recommend you both react to JAMES BOND series ( Actor Daniel Craig). You both are going to love the character even more than Tony Stark. Love from India!
While this is by no means the best MCU film, upon release and a few years after it got some heavy scrutiny. Still.. I think its depiction of Tony's mental illness struggles really good and realistic as well. :( also seeing him fight with his mind instead of his suit is cool
Excellent work as always 😊 can you please watch American History X🙏🏻
yay gonna enjoy ur reaction to this movie
Did you girls spot Jenna Ortega at 29:09?
Shocking fact: at the end of "The Avengers", Stark had a Mark 7, the events of "Iron Man 3" take place in the same year, after about plus or minus six months, he has a Mark 42. The question begs itself: how did Tony manage to set up 35 costumes in six months???
I can't wait for you gals to see Captain America : The Winter Soldier.
Mags, you gotta do a reaction to Terminator 3:Rise Of The Machines
And do a reaction to Back To The Future part 3
And do 3 reactions to the 90's Ninja Turtles trilogy and have boxes of pizzas and sodas while watching them🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🐢🐢🐢🐢
This a great movie, can't wait to see more, the next marvel movie following should be thor 2 the dark world, hope u enjoy 🙂👍👍
29:09 Baby Jenna Ortega 🖤
Iron Man 3 is the best movie. Iron Man trilogy is my favorite.

*This Marvel One Shot shows what happened to Trevor, the actor hired to play The Mandarin. There’s a nice cameo during the credits.* 😉

I m waiting for u guys to watch the avengers end game ....I want to see u both crying like a baby 😂 sorry jst kidding
*Loved your Ghostbusters reaction, ladies. Can’t wait until you release it for Halloween!* 👻
You guys should check out Maze Runner
You guys should react to the Insidious movies next Month in October. The kid actor is now an adult, he played in 3 out of 5 of those movies
Y'all realize this is the exact premise from the Pixar filmed Incredibles?
Think about it, Tony make him a long time ago heard his feelings was push him over the edge and now he's a super villain currently with the upper hand and he's temporarily trapped it's literally the same story
And to top it all off, Tony even has a great black friend who helps him fight crime and he has a super suit
Not exactly a ground breaking new plot idea to have a guy turn into a villain out of vengeance.
Please react to Grave of the Fireflies This anime is really emotional
laura is not ready for the mcu....
I never heard the word stupid sound so not lethal LOL
Phase Two begins.
One more to go until captain America the winter soldier
My personal favorite of the Iron Man movies, it’s a fun one 🤙
Please react to the movie "Flipped" you two would love it for sure
Would you consider watching Transformers (2007)?
Interesting fact about the iron Man movies Tony Stark it's not the MVP of his own movie it's pepper Potts while James Rhodes is the audience perspective due to the fact Tony isn't that relatable yet he's fun and entertaining to watch. Pepper killed Obadiah by overloading The Arc reactor in the first iron Man movie. Despite fans dislike of the character Justin Hammer was the main villain not Ivan vanko aka whiplash. Whiplash would have been defeated in the second act of the movie. Hammer was shown at the very beginning of iron Man 2 trying to get the government to take Tony's suits then Justin broke whiplash out of prison while providing him a armory of hammer drones and Justin provided Ivan the Mark 2 armor which he turned into war machine to kill iron Man. Even in this 3rd installment it was pepper who defeated Aldrich Killian the fake Mandarin. Also there is a marvel one shot short called all hail the king that features Trevor Slattery explaining he stole the identity of the Mandarin who is iron Man's biggest comic book villain and will be featured in a later MCU project.
Magy your my crush since 2022

"I want one, in pink."

Please react to warcraft movie
@41:34 Am I wrong for thinking that the classic Mustang is the coolest thing that Tony gave him? Everything else can be replaced easier than that awesome street machine.
1:25 no Jensen is not still alive this part happens years before Iron Man 1.
That's exactly what they said in the reaction if you pay attention.
❤
