It's really good album, I wouldn't say it's the best, but I really like to get back to this album sometimes, and listen it again. As I remember, the You Must Fall was among the very first Mayhem songs that I listened. I still remember how I felt when I heard it first time, it was shoking :D Perhaps the only weakness of this song is the long "outro", when only the instruments sounds. But yeah, My Death is a really strong one, Impious Devious Leper Lord is also a good one. Ahh it would have been great to have another Maniac album...

Matthew Graves input from a mayhem fan here who plays guitar, id say it’s pretty complex, but if you catch the fast power chords in different time signatures and have good tremolo picking, it’s not gonna be as hard, that’s why for example, id love to see him cover slaughter of dreams, the complexity on this album shows that mayhem is incredibly versatile in a progressive black metal way
