Again absolutely gorgeous❤. I have an idea for the backside of the resined rocks. My idea is from the frog pins. I use my discarded small plastic containers in which i mix my paints and on the backside I put some glue with glue gun and stick the push pins upsidedown ....so tht the pins will be facing u. U can add the numb of pins according to the size of ur rock. Or just 4 pins will work fine...just space them properly. Once u soap up the rocks u can lay them on top of the DIY frog pins. This way u can have a glazed resined surface. The pins will not adhere to the rocks as long as the rock does not have a thick coating of resin. Hope this helps.

Love these! Going to make some today 😃👍
Btw - I’m sure someone already mentioned this to you, but when working with resin what you lay it on to dry matters. If you lay it on silicone or something that has a matte finish, that spot on the bottom will be matte. If you lay it on shiny hard plastic (such as a covered plastic bin) it will be shiny. Happy Dotting Company has a lovely tutorial on how she gets around that flat spot on the back by making a stand for her resined rocks. I either use a plastic tub or else a stand for mine and they come out beautifully. ❤️

They are gorgeous love your colors ♥️ I used Rachel’s art resin and the bottom was pretty good. A little toughness which I sanded and used Modpodge on but they were close to perfect.

These are gorgeous. You make me believe I can actually do this. I will give dotting another try now. I have the same problem with the bottom of the rocks using resin. But hey, it's on the bottom after all :D

Hi, love these! I can’t see it mentioned anywhere, but it’s advisable to wear a face mask when using resin, whether it says to or not. Better safe than get lung damage. Thanks for your tips! 😁

Kristin, wonderful tutorial. I use a pizza box and push rows of paper clips with one side unfolded to a point through the bottom from the outside and then tape the outside with duct tape to keep them stable and set my rocks on that to seal them. Hope this is clear.

If I do these with the multi-surface paints, will they stand up to the sun for use as garden stones? What sealing method would you use for outdoors?

Hello fabulous work my only problem is that when I click the link to purchase the dotting tools from Amazon it comes up with a message that there are no listings to buy the items and they know not when or if they will be available again? How long ago did you buy them and is the company still going? Thanks

Are you outside the US? If so then that would explain the message you are receiving. I do currently have my tools available on eBay for international customers. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. :^)

Adding a gel medium or iridescent medium can give body to acrylic paints that are too thin. Liquitex is the brand I use.
