    This is the BEST demo of the capabilities of the Morningstar pedals!, They should take notice on this video and feature it on their webpage or commission you for more demos and tutorials!, Great job! 🙂

    Thank you!
    What is actually the difference between Overdub and Record function? I'm just starting out on Morningstar after years of using Blooper without one. I ask because on Blooper when I add other layers on top, I also hit just the record button. Why can't I hit record on the Morningstar to Overdub add other layers. Or in other words. What does the overdub function do?

    Great stuff man! Are the 3 toggle switches on the blooper controllable via midi? So can you switch between modifiers that way? Thanks for taking the time to clarify all this functionallity. Take care

    Question for you Andre: at 7:40 have you programmed a 'pre-erase' into your REC function on the Morningstar or does Record automatically do that for you (as opposed to Overdub)?

    When using the Expression Pedal to adjust the Modifier, why did the Expression Pedal not change the Modifier position in real time (vs after releasing and re-engaging the momentary Modifier switch? Is this because the Expression Pedal command was in slot 2 vs after the Release command? Is it a quirk of the CBA Blooper? I have the MS MC8 as my MIDI controller and would love to replicate some of this with my Meris LVX, but maybe with a Momentary control of a loop effect on (for example Switch C) and a Latching version of the same control on the button above it (switch G in this example).
    Next, have you sorted out a way to have the Momentary functions quantized to some degree? Quick presses could adhere to a 64th or even 128th of the current BPM, medium presses = 16th or an 8th of the BPM...etc. It's a cool trick when something looped is seemingly chaotic, but after you trigger a drum loop, it all falls into place. Or in my case, chaos loops into a tempo sync'd long phrase looper, like the Boss RC600.
    Great video by the way...more deep dives into the MS MC8.
    ps:: also had the Gibson Echoplex Looper, then moved onto the Electric Repeater...then down the rabbit hole. Landed on the Boss RC600 (currently).

    Such a great video on the blooper Morningstar combo. May I ask which model of Reverend guitar you are playing here?

      @andrelafosse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! That's a Slingshot, one of the USA models. I got it in 2006, and it was probably made within a year before that.

    I know it is a difficult question to answer but if you had to give up between BLOOPER and LOUPÉ , who would be the one to keep with you ?

    • @andrelafosse
      @andrelafosse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me *personally*, Loupe all the way. But keep in mind that the Loupe is based off of the Echoplex Digital Pro functionality, which I've been using for 27 years. So I have a basic familiarity with that architecture that I don't have with anything else.
      Blooper is really cool, and I've been enjoying digging into it. But it's also taken me a while to wrap my head around it, largely because (in my opinion) there's very little overlap with the EDP/Loupe paradigm, in terms of functionality. And we're talking about a few months I've spent with Blooper, as opposed to almost three decades with the EDP/Loupe paradigm.
      Just my own 1,000% subjective take, of course! :)

      I have ordered a loupé ! This device seems to ba like what I was expecting ! I am mostly a drummer as a musician and it is impressive how the loupé can develop rythmic ideas with its feature . First time I see for instance an electronic device where you can switch a sequence into quintuplet , that’s awesome if you know what it is !

    • @andrelafosse
      @andrelafosse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree... except Loupe doesn't do MIDI, alas. So that's a dead end.

    • @lockyp204
      @lockyp204 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrelafosse ahh yes, I forgot about that minor detail 🤦‍♂️🤣 such a shame it doesn’t. Could you possibly use the ML10 looper switcher- if you had one of course?

    • @andrelafosse
      @andrelafosse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lockyp204 My understanding is that the ML10 deals strictly with "effects loops," rather than anything to do with live looping. Selectively switching effects in and out of the signal path, and/or re-routing their placement in series, seems to be what it's geared towards.
      In any event, the Loupe's only means of control from an outside source is the expression pedal input, which can be assigned to feedback or input level. Beyond that, though, it's a closed system as far as control goes.
