Amazing speech. Thank you so much for helping workers getting back their rights. I liked the "this is not a business problem, hut a moral one." Exactly.

human trafficking and slavery... more people need to know about this. the bigger problem i see is many people are ignorant of this, not that they dont care.

i agree it is ignorance ..... we see these documentaries but I never see who benefits? Who is the employer are they indigenous and they take product to market and big corporations buy it????? Supply chains can hideworking conditions????

The idea is to never pay enough in order to keep people in need and it works along perfectly with credit depths that is what modern slavery is all about .

The solution with making illegal any upfront fees from future employees is unfortunately not complete.
Separate issue is covering visas, plane tickets and accommodation - those typically also have to be paid upfront, still leading to enormous debt. Very few people from poorest countries can afford regular bank credit for 15% APR or less.

the least they could do was to pay that money for at least that person they put in the report

This is true. I experience I hired abroad as a sale lady in middle east the agency said that I have to pay the fee so they can process the visa. So I borrow and pay.. After I landed in uae my company said that I have to give my passport to them.

And they must also imprison and fine anyone who is caught with slaves of any kind. That will send a message in their wallets that it is not worth it. Money talks.

Logic of the day and night of the business/ corporation/ oligarchy of "modern slavery" brand. The night work is like freedom and common sense and the day work is like a roleplaying game about losing and people don't know how you succeed or else they would make you lose.
Modern doesn't need to be written and the S is all that is needed for the slavery word / brand. Entropia and 18 or 19. Regarding the alphabet and each 25 year business global period of investment work.
